Her Savior Alpha

Chapter 36

Reily’s wolf groaned as he surrendered in a way which was unfamiliar to me. His battering crew stood around watching as I pinned Reilly under my front paw. My teeth found the groove of his fur which I wanted to sink my fangs into and devoured. A sense of vindication filled me as my lethal fangs penetrated through Reily’s soaked fur. I heard the bone crunch as he yelped in distress and I shook my head prising open the wound further. I could feel the beat of my heart hammering loudly rousing me to end his life, but I wanted to take it slow. I wanted Reily to experience the same anguish I’d endured at his hands.

Reily swiped out in a pathetic attempt to defend himself as Zion foolishly tried to act as his savior. He was no match for me as the power of my lycan boomed through my body in sonic waves. There would be no stopping me, I was focused on my prey, but I deviated for a moment as the pitter patter of the rain flowed over my wolf cleansing it.

Zion was in my eyeline and retreating as the others gave wide berth. I stalked forward as I followed him with my eyes. In size alone I had him covered. He was twice as small as me, but was still trying to assess where my weak spots were. In one effortless leap, I pounced on Zion and dipped my teeth into his shoulder yanking a piece of flesh tearing it back as he howled loudly. My wolf was relentless as the blood flowed bright red mixing with the sleet of rain and mud. I bit into his stomach shaking him, which opened up the most vulnerable part of his body. My wolf had come forth to destroy and ultimately kill. My lycan had no qualms in gore. I clawed at Zion’s face as he quickly dropped on his side with a heavy thud.

You would do well never to defy me again. You will never lay a finger on Vera ever. I will come for each and every one of you if you do. Let this serve as a reminder.

Zion groaned in pain as he lifted his head, but it slammed right back down again, he was in the same predicament all of them had left me in a few minutes ago. I could feel my lycan healing my paw. I could feel the wound throbbing, but there was a tingling energy running through it.

Next was Mathew and Trevor who were wily and ready for attack. Both of them lunged at me at the same time hoping a double team would be my takedown. My lycan reared down ready to launch, the direction not clear. Raindrops were veering horizontally as the wind carried them, but my vision was crystal clear. I could see straight through the rain, almost as if I had x-ray vision. Mathew was moving out from me, as Reilly stood behind him. For some reason Reily failed to jump in to assist his crew. My lycan understand his pride and superior ego had him believing he would be able to take me solo. His eyes were peeking out from behind Mathew preparing for an assault. I had to be clean in my slaughter otherwise Reily would capitalize.

I always knew Reily was a scavenger of a wolf. He could not stand on his own, a crew was needed to do his dirty work. He had to slither and play cunning games with other wolves in order to achieve what he wanted. I remembered while Clive was away on recon that Reily had organized a beating by ambushing me on the way home from a long day at the barracks. My brain dug up the countless memories of broken bones, projected rage and heart stabbing words Reily unleashed. There were so many flashcards I was unable to keep up. The recalls kept coming, hard and fast, one after the other building a fortress of blue flame that would scorch anyone who touched it.

Reily would receive what he truly deserved once I was finished with his weak and pathetic crew. I would drive the nail in the coffin home and put him to rest. I had no idea if I would have mercy on him. All I knew is my lycan had come to play and would be taking names.

Trevor circled outwards and I began to decipher the game they were playing. Trevor, behind, Mathew up front and then Kory to face me head on. All of them were drawing near and this excited my lycan. There was a warrior inside of this wolf and now I understood why I didn’t have the power to control it before. So much light, fierceness and otherworldly wisdom existed inside my lycan. It had seen many a battle and won. I could feel the experience through my body.

Trevor growled low and deep as he dipped his head and his fur raised despite the rain. The circle grew tighter until the trio of wolves were all in their chosen positions. They must have got their training from Reily. This was a strategy I’d seen him employ during weapons training in teams.

The problem was their were holes in his approach, and my lycan would expose them. Mathew first, he slunk low and aimed to nip at my front right paw, I raised it opening up my claws and slashing him across the face. A small, love bite in terms of what the lycan could dish out. Trevor approached from behind aimed for my wounded foot, but it still had firepower within it. As I felt the wind from his breath I kicked out soundly hitting him in the barrel of his chest sending him flying back.

Reily paced two and fro with Darren and Gina watching. Kory went all in and pounced trying to knock me off balance which would give the others and opening to rush in and crush me.

My lycan was too quick however and opened his jaw to latch onto Kory’s neck and fling him across the forest floor so he skidded down part of the embankment. He howled, whimpering and trying to scamper back up the ledge as my lycan unleashed a guttural sound ready to annihilate whomever tried to come for more.

Who’s next? My lycan politely asked as it paced in its own circle. Another hot surge of power flowed through the body of it as Trevor came again for another nip of my lycan’s leg.

My wolf didn’t turn otherwise that would have led to Reily and Gina jumping on top of them.

Instead I used the power held within my tail and the extrasensory tip to wiggle it in front of Trevor’s face throwing him off as Mathew recovered from the paw swipe and launched in the air.

My lycan merely moved out of the way letting him thud on the ground due to its own misjudged calculations and flight path.

You fool. My lycan issued the insult as Reily spoke via mindlink.

What the fuck are you?

You thought I was some lowly slave and punching bag. Now you will learn the truth of my power. That’s what you will learn.

Tell me. What the fuck are you? Reily howled as his pace picked up and spaced out. He was frantic to understand.

That’s what happens when you underestimate your opponent Reily. You realize you have made a grave mistake. I’m not done with you yet.

Vera, you have never been able to defeat me. You think you can, but I am a master. You cannot, and you will not. I have power over you. I know your weaknesses and you are sloppy, even with your wolf my dear. I can see you wavering. Reilly’s onyx pupils shone through the dimming light in the forest with a wicked gleam.

My wolf would not fold, it rose to the occasion. Then let this be the first and the last time. I will crush your bones with one bite. You will cry out with every shatter and you will wish for your mother who is no longer here.

My lycan sure knew how to hit Reily where it hurt. The other wolves were grizzly and had regained footing as my lycan had let them. Reilly became flustered as he moved forward and back with Gina by his side. The darting of her eyes gave her away, she was scared, but she couldn’t back down now, not with Reily by her side. He wouldn’t allow her to do that.

You bitch! Shut up about my mother. I will decapitate you and eat your intestines. You piece of shit!

You have yet to learn the first lesson. The one to anger first will lose the fight. I thought Vera had never defeated you? Temper, temper Reily.

My lycan had the same devilish tricks Reily did. I wondered where Clive and Archer were, if they were so badly injured that they had to stay where they were.

Trevor, Mathew, Kory and Darren all pounced in a star formation onto me. As each of them dropped from the air I flung them with my teeth one by one like frisbees. Kory slammed into the pine tree half a mile away. Mathew leapt inches in the air to slam down on top of me but my lycan kicked with it’s good leg as he slid down another tree trunk with a whimper.

Darren came next sliding in to bite my ankles. Latching onto his shoulder my fangs pierced through his shoulder and I shook him free down the embankment. Not the side of it, but down it all the way.

Reily and Gina were next as the burning furnace of revenge overflowed inside my lycan and burst free as it attacked Reily. It landed right on top of him as Gina made a feeble attempt to bite it.

My lycan bared its teeth as its top lip furled ready to make mincemeat out of Gina. She cowered as Reily lay underneath my lycan’s hold writhing to get loose.

Why would you back down now Gina? Is this not your mate? Have you not chosen to be with him?

My lycan taunted her as Gina turned to trot and run away to the deep layers of the forest. Gina was willing to leave Reily to die and it was of no surprise to me. A real state of survival had brought the truth to light and now Reily was now face to face with his past and all the gut wrenching pain he’d caused me.

My lycan started with Reily’s shoulder as he bucked enough to get out of the hold. As Reily lifted himself up it made it easier for my lycan to cut through his flesh and pull at the bone. It cracked to pieces with a loud snap as Reily howled.

My lycan was ruthless and snapped through the other shoulder blade dismantling him from being able to get away. Reily was no coward and would fight to the bitter end. I’d seen him take blows on the training ground and knew it was merely the next round of the battle. Reily tried to ram his heavy body into me as the last light of the day closed over, but me and my lycan both knew the light of the moon would soon be brought forward. A new light would emerge through the twiggy branches to illuminate my wolf’s prey.

Reily caused my wolf to be off center just a touch slipping off the smooth surface of a boulder like rock. Many of them existed on the path and were often the stumbling blocks of those who trained in the forest. Reily took the glimpse to nip at my lycan’s back leg, Once, twice as my lycan cried out raising its paw aiming for Reily’s eye socket as he snarled with malevolence overriding his system. He didn’t miss on the swipe and managed to tear the delicate skin at the bottom of Reily’s eye open. A dash oozed with blood that washed it away, but impeded Reily’s sight.

Your one and only has left you. There, there. How terrible you must feel. Who will save you now Reily?

Now it was my turn to taunt and disturb Reily, finally vindication would be mine. Reily blinked through the downpour of rain blinking rapidly trying to fixate on my wolf, but he kept closing his eye. My lycan had done enough damage to put him into a vulnerable state. My lycan showed no mercy and lurched forward opening his scapel-like claws, shredding up Reily’s shoulder.

Reily released a scream, not a whimper, a scream as the blades of my lycan’s claws cut straight through to the flesh revealing the white of the bone.

Ah yes. That’s what we like to see...

My lycan with its glowing, ember eyes was on a mission to destroy and conquer. Reily backed down, but my lycan honed in on its prey slicing again at the other leg, right above the paw as Reily buckled and blood trickled along a gully of water running alongside them. The rain was so heavy now, and the moon’s light only seemed to bring enhancement to its powers. Reily raised a paw as a white flag gesture. He could take no more, but my lycan was out for blood, as I couldn’t control it and had given permission for it to take over, there was not much I could do.

My lycan ripped at Reily’s stomach as he reached out via mindlink to stop the massacre. He was broken, sliced and ripped in most places on his body. He was overturned on his side when two other wolves staggered in. My lycan held its held high prepared to fight once more when it saw it was Clive.

Vera! It’s enough. It’s enough. He’s half dead already and his eye is hanging out of his socket. It’s enough. He’s my brother. Please, show mercy. Please.

Clive put forward his request as my lycan opened its jaw wide and standing solidly howling in the moonlight.

Redemption is mine. Redemption is forever mine. You will yield to me and the power I own. Redemption. My lycan had spoken and laid down the gauntlet on Moon Goddess land. There would be no more bloodshed at the hands of Vera Hunter.

Okay, redemption is yours Vera. Trust me it is. Clive nestled his nose into his brother’s side. He was barely conscious and he was trying to keep him alive. A dip in the temperature made my lycan shiver as tiredness at the attacks, adrenaline and use of special powers made it want to rest.

If Clive had not come to the rescue of his brother my lycan surely would have killed him. The forest of the Mount Hunter region had now become its killing ground.

I laid down. The work of my lycan was complete for now.
