Chapter 122~ Vows
Lora gasped when she saw the man's face.
She grinned and exclaimed, "I knew it was you."
Ryan looked confused, saying, "Wait... you recognised me?"
"How can I fail to recognise my husband?" Lora asked and Ryan smiled happily.
Diane froze when she heard their conversation.
"What? You crashed the party?" She questioned, glaring at Ryan. She then turned to look at the man in front of her, her eyes widening. "Then you're..."
The man pulled off his helmet, revealing none other than Aiden Davis.
"Oh my god!!!" Diane shrieked, her cheeks flushing pink.
On the other side, Adan took off his helmet and winked at Bianca. He remarked, "Surprise."
Bianca blushed profusely. She had gotten a feel of his abs too. What would he think of her now?
"How could you guys do this to us?" Bianca protested to hide her embarrassment.
"It's not fair! You guys were not supposed to be here!" Diane exclaimed and Ryan narrowed his eyes at her.
"If we didn't come, I'm afraid you would give your sister-in-law to another man," he remarked.
Lora chuckled and grabbed Ryan's hand, saying, "That wasn't going to happen. Diane just wanted to have fun."
"Well, I would rather you have fun with me... I couldn't let another man dance for you," Ryan replied, bringing Lora's hand to his lips before placing a soft kiss on it.
""You've ruined our moment!" Diane complained.
"It's ok... we can combine our parties and have fun," Lora suggested and everyone agreed.
The music shifted to an upbeat and Ryan pulled Lora up for a dance.
Aiden asked Diane to dance and Adan followed suit with Bianca. When the three of them enjoyed the music, the rest of the ladies joined them, the room a mixture of laughter, cheers and happiness. At the same time, Aiden held Diane's waist and asked, "You don't seem happy to see me. Were you unsatisfied with my services?"
He frowned and said, "I'm very sure I did my best. It was hard to please you, my lady."
Diane chuckled, her sour mood dissipating. She smiled and replied, "I actually thought you were a real dancer... why did you say you have two left feet?"
"Well, the occasion called for me to dance... otherwise, someone else would..." Aiden said, his eyes staring deeply into Diane's eyes.
The air around them crackled and Aiden pulled Diane closer, their bodies flush against each other as they swayed to the music.
He gulped, lowering his eyes to Diane's lips. Diane too glanced at Aiden's lips, her heart pounding erratically.
Why did he look like he wanted to...?
"You're full of surprises, aren't you?" Aiden whispered.
Diane came back to her senses, her stomach fluttering with butterflies. She looked at Aiden and said, "Life is too short to be predictable."
"I see... I guess I'll make my life interesting by trying to understand you," Aiden replied.
Meanwhile, Adan and Bianca were chatting while dancing. He leaned over and whispered in her ears, "You look good tonight."
Bianca's heart skipped a beat as she thought, 'What is this playboy up to now?'
When Adan saw her expression, he let out a low deep chuckle before saying, "Chill... I'm not going to eat you. At least not tonight."
Bianca arched an eyebrow and asked, "What do you mean by that?"
However, Adan didn't elaborate and continued to lead Bianca into a dance. They had danced together before so the moves came naturally. It's like they were in sync with each other. Back to the main couple, Ryan held Lora's waist and said, "By this time tomorrow, we will be on our honeymoon."
Lora wrapped her arms around his neck and replied, "I can't wait."
...
The next day...
Lora stood in a private room at the wedding venue, glancing at her reflection in the full-length mirror.
She was already dressed in her princess ball gown wedding gown, her dark brown hair pulled up into a bridal hairstyle, adorned with pearl white hairpins.
The train of the wedding dress flowed like liquid silk behind her and a delicate veil framed her face.
"You look beautiful," Freya's voice caught Lora's attention.
She turned to look at her mother who was dressed in a gorgeous emerald green gown.
"Mom..." Her voice croaked.
"Oh no.... No tears, my sweetheart," Freya said, approaching her.
She held her hand and said, "I'm so glad for this moment. I get to watch your father walk you down the aisle. I love you, my child."
Lora sniffed back her tears and hugged her mother, saying, "Mommy, I love you so much."
Pulling back from the hug, Freya smiled and remarked, "I'll be in the hall waiting for you... Ryan is already at the altar."
After Freya left, Diane entered the room, wearing a gorgeous peach one-shoulder sequined gown that accentuated her figure.
She looked at Lora, a small box in her hands as her eyes sparkled with strong emotions.
"Lora... I have something for you," Diane remarked, approaching the bride.
Lora turned to look at Diane, curiosity creeping into her. "What is it?"
Diane opened the box, revealing a gold bracelet with pink diamonds on it. She said, "This belonged to our mother. I want you to have it."
Lora's eyes widened as she replied, "I can't accept that, it's for your mother-"
"My grandma gave it to Mom when she married Dad... and since she's not around, the duty falls on me to pass this on to you... Welcome to the family, Lora," Diane said seriously. Lora's eyes filled with tears as Diane gently fastened the bracelet around her wrist. She sniffed back her tears and stated, "Thank you, Diane. It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you... you make a beautiful bride. My brother is a lucky man," Diane replied before pulling Lora in for a hug.
A knock at the door brought them back to the present. Ethan opened the door and peeked inside. He looked dashing in a tuxedo that suited his size. "Mommy, it's time," he announced.
Lora took a deep breath, her heart pounding with excitement and nerves. She nodded and said, "Let's go."
Soon, the ceremony began.
The bridesmaids were the first to enter followed by the twins.
While outside, Lora hooked her arm
through her father's arm and proclaimed, I'm so happy, Dad. I never thought I would have anyone walk me down the aisle... I'm glad you found me. I wish I had more time with you but everything happens for a reason... perhaps you finding me later was to make us
appreciate family bonds more... I
love you, Daddy."
Jack Davis blinked back his tears and patted his daughter's hand, saying, "I love you more than anything in this world, pumpkin."
A slow, sweet melody began to play and Lora knew that was her queue to walk down the aisle. Led by her father, she walked down the aisle, her eyes focused on the man standing at the altar in a classic
black tailored suit.
She reached the altar and when it was time to exchange vows, Ryan glanced into her eyes and promised, "I promise to stand by your side, to support your dreams and to cherish every moment that we spend
ver
together like it was the last because no one knows tomorrow. Lora Davis, I promise to fall in love with you every day because you're so worth it."
