Chapter 27

Rachel sits at her desk, scrolling through her calendar on her computer. She carefully notes down the upcoming meetings and appointments that Leo has scheduled for the week. She double-checks the details, making sure that everything is in order. As she finishes, she stands up and makes her way to Leo's office. She knocks on the door and he calls out for her to come in.
"Good morning, Leo," Rachel greets him as she enters. "I just wanted to remind you that we have a meeting with the patent organization at 2 PM today."
Leo looks up from his work and nods. "Yes, I remember. Thank you for reminding me, Rachel."
"No problem," Rachel responds. "Is there anything else you need me to do before the meeting? I can prepare some notes for you or make any necessary calls."
Leo shakes his head. "No, that won't be necessary. But thank you for offering.
As the workload at the office increased, Rachel found herself taking on new roles that didn't quite fit into her job description. Throughout the week, Rachel finds herself stepping out of her comfort zone as she accompanies Leo to various meetings and events. Despite the added workload, Rachel pushes herself to excel in her new role.
One of the most important meetings was with an organization that specializes in creating patents. Leo was eager to secure a deal with them and wanted Dante Company to design their safety wear.
One of these roles was acting as her boss's personal assistant, a task that involved taking notes, answering calls, and scheduling meetings for him. The civil boss she had talked with just a week ago seemed to have vanished, as if the common ground they had found had never existed.
Leo had an important meeting with an organization that specialized in patenting, and he wanted Dante company to design its safety wear.
Rachel and Leo made their way to the conference room for the meeting with the patent organization. The room was large and imposing, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in natural light and offered a stunning view of the city. The conference table was made of gleaming mahogany wood, and the chairs were upholstered in rich, dark leather. The room was filled with an air of authority and power.
As they entered the room, they were greeted by a group of representatives from the patent organization. They were all dressed in formal business attire, with tailored suits and polished shoes. They carried themselves with an air of confidence and authority, and their expressions were serious and focused. Rachel felt a little intimidated as she took her seat at the table, but she quickly pushed those thoughts aside and prepared herself for the meeting ahead.
The meeting began promptly at 9am, with both parties taking their seats at the large conference table in the sleek, modern meeting room. Leo, the CEO of Dante Company, greeted the representatives of the patent organization with a firm handshake and a confident smile. The representatives, dressed in formal business attire, returned the greeting with an air of professionalism.
"Thank you for taking the time to meet with us today," Leo began, opening the meeting.
"We at Dante Company are excited about the opportunity to work with your organization and develop cutting-edge safety wear."
One of the representatives, a tall man with a stern expression, nodded in agreement.
"We've been impressed with Dante's reputation in the industry and we believe that your company would be a valuable partner for us."
Leo leaned forward, his arms resting on the table. "We're glad to hear that. We believe that our expertise in design and technology would be a great asset to your organization."
The representative nodded and began to discuss the details of the potential partnership, delving into topics such as research and development, production timelines, and financial details. Rachel took notes diligently, her pen moving quickly across the page as the conversation flowed.
As the meeting progressed, the representatives of the patent organization asked questions and made suggestions, while Leo and the members of his team responded with well-prepared answers and counter-proposals. The atmosphere in the room was tense but professional, with both parties clearly invested in reaching a mutually beneficial agreement.
As the meeting progressed, Rachel found herself growing increasingly bored. The conversation between the representatives of the Dante company and the patent organization was dry and technical, filled with jargon and industry terms that she didn't fully understand. Despite her best efforts to pay attention and take detailed notes, she found her mind drifting, her gaze wandering around the room as she struggled to stay engaged in the discussion.
She tried to shake off the feeling of boredom and focus on the conversation, but the monotony of the meeting made it difficult. She was restless, as if her mind and body were yearning for something more stimulating.

Finally, after nearly two hours of discussion, the meeting came to a close. Both parties had reached a preliminary agreement and they set a date for the final contract signing. As they stood up to leave, the representatives of the patent organization expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and shook hands with Leo and his team before leaving the conference room.
As the meeting came to a close, she found herself sketching designs on her notepad, her mind wandering to the possibilities of the project she was given. She was trying to make out time to have it accomplished.
Suddenly, she felt a presence looming over her and looked up to see her boss staring at her designs in wonder. "These are incredible, Rachel," he said, his tone filled with surprise and admiration. "I had no idea you had such talent." Rachel felt a flush of pleasure at his words, but also a hint of annoyance. Why had he not noticed her talent before? She pushed the thought away and smiled at him. "Thank you, Leo. I'm glad you like them."
Leo nodded, his eyes still fixed on her designs. "I like them a lot. I think we should definitely consider incorporating some of these ideas into our designs for the patent company."
Rachel felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of her designs being used in a real project. "I'd love that," she said, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
Leo nodded, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "I'll make sure to include your designs in our proposal to the patent company. I have a feeling they're going to love them."
As they left the meeting, Leo turned to her and said, "You know, Rachel, I think this is just the beginning for you. I have a feeling you're going to go far in this company."
Rachel felt a warm glow spread through her chest at his words. Maybe, just maybe, she thought, this contract marriage wouldn't be so bad after all.
