Her Quest : Magic in the Blood

His eyes were black. Just the normal black that didnot drew any attention. He peeked into her notes and Sonia turned, looking at him from the corner of her eyes. She was wary of him. Some inner voice warned her to stay clear from him. Yet another voice told her that he was trustworthy. Unlike the image he had purposely created in her mind.

Just then Eric looked up and smiled. Sonia's eyes widened a fraction of an inch. They were beautiful. And not black. The light streaming in from the window hit his face at an angle such that half his face was in darkness and other half in light.

Sonia watched awestruck as his one eye remained the same and the other one glowed. Like an amber in the dark, it showed just the hint of a color. Like the bark of the oak tree that stood outside the window, his eyes were the warmest shade of brown.
