Her Precious Baby

Chapter 36

Angeline’s right eyelid twitched when she heard that.
Denise’s words kept haunting her. That’s definitely a warning that actually means something.
A live-stream voting session between Angeline and Denise would be conducted to decide on the ambassador for the public
service announcement. Besides, the gifts given by their fans during the live stream would be donated to the Red Cross.
Angeline had been reading her script seriously the moment she reached the dressing room. She didn’t even put it down.
Although she was a very experienced actress, the public service announcement this time was extremely important to her.
I have to win! Only then can I take back my shares with the Sorelle family and get my revenge on Joseline!
At that moment, she heard porcelain crashing on the ground. Following that, a girl complained, “Hey! Don’t step on my little
trumpet! All of you are so mean!”
The girl’s voice captured Angeline’s attention immediately. Why does it sound like Floretta’s voice?
She lifted her hand and asked her makeup artist to stop before she went to open the door.
Then, she saw a security guard carrying a little girl. The latter was wearing a pink bubble dress, and her hair was tied into two
little braids. She looked adorable.
“Floretta?” Angeline was shocked when she looked at the little girl’s face.
“Angel, help me. Quick.” Floretta tilted her head to look at Angeline with teary and pitiful eyes.
Horrified, Angeline quickly walked up to the guard and carried Floretta from his arms.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Angeline asked with concern as she examined Floretta’s body.
“I’m fine, Angel.”
“Thank goodness.” Angeline took a deep breath and patted her chest. It’ll be awful if Evander sees this.
The guard left. Realizing no one was accompanying Floretta, Angeline asked seriously, “Can you tell me what’s going on now?
Did you come here on your own?”

Floretta stuck out her tongue and said, “Yeah. I sneaked in. I didn’t expect to be noticed. I remember the date of your competition
when I was in Daddy’s office the other day. As your top fan, I must come to support you in person!”
After saying that, she took out a toy trumpet and blew on it forcefully to make a loud sound.
Angeline couldn’t hold back her laughter. She couldn’t get mad at Floretta when she looked at the latter. “I’m really grateful for
your support, Floretta. But do you know how worried your daddy will be if you sneak out like this?”
She looked at the time on her phone and saw that there was still a little time before the shooting began. She patted Floretta’s tiny
head and asked gently, “Floretta, let’s go back to your daddy’s office, shall we?”
Floretta was unwilling to leave. She teared up and pleaded, “No... Can I stay and watch your performance? Please? It wasn’t
easy for me to sneak out, and I even got you a present. Look!” She searched through her bag and took out two cartons of
strawberry yogurt. “You said you feel happy when you drink alcohol, so I got you my favorite yogurt. I hope you’ll always be
happy, Angel.”
Angeline was speechless. I only said that when I was drunk. I didn’t expect Floretta to take it seriously.
Angeline took the yogurt from Floretta. When she felt the warmth of the yogurt from Floretta’s hand, her eyes reddened slightly.
A child’s innocent feelings are the most sincere. It comforted Angeline from all the grievances she had suffered all those while.
Unable to bring herself to turn her down, Angeline took Floretta for a little tour of the set after sending a message to Evander to
let him know where Floretta was.
It’s better for me to tell him where Floretta is before he finds her. Otherwise, he’ll think that I have some ulterior motives again.
Floretta must’ve been kept at home for too long, as she was curious about everything, and Angeline had to explain everything to
her patiently.
“Angeline, this is bad!” At that moment, Nancy rushed toward Angeline in a fluster. It was rare, given how calm and composed
Nancy usually was.
As she walked over, she stared at Floretta in bewilderment.
Angeline pushed Floretta behind her back. “It’s fine. She won’t affect me. What happened?” she asked, putting on a serious look.

Nancy lowered her head and handed a document to Angeline. “Bad news. We’ll definitely lose this time. This is the latest script
given by the director. I looked through it and your screen time has been greatly reduced.”
Hearing that, Angeline immediately flipped through the pages of the script to scan the scenes and lines. Her eyes burned with
rage as she exclaimed, “How can this be? Didn’t we have a deal?”
“He said it was Golding Group’s decision.”
Angeline gritted her teeth, and her entire body shook with anger as she gripped the script.
The only person who has the authority to give such an order is none other than Evander! I knew things wouldn’t end easily when
I scolded him last night in my drunken state.
Not only were her scenes significantly reduced, but her character’s arc had been changed for the worse.
Denise would play a university student who went to help in the countryside, while Angeline would play a butcher who was
brought to justice for kidnapping a child out of evil thoughts.
My fans on Twitter are pretty young. What’s going to happen once a storyline like this is aired? Let’s not even talk about winning
against Denise right now. Before that even happens, everyone will probably curse me on the internet!
Floretta’s eyes widened. Realizing something, she pulled Angeline’s hand and made Angeline lower her body.
She said in Angeline’s ear angrily, “I’m sure Daddy did this! That cunning man! I’ll call him and get him to undo this!”
With that, she took out her phone from her bag and was about to press the speed dial to call her father with her chubby fingers.
“Floretta, don’t!” Angeline stopped her immediately. Evander hates me from the beginning. If Floretta does this and makes things
worse, I may even lose the chance to compete with Denise.
Angeline furrowed her eyebrows tightly and massaged her throbbing temples as she tried to calm down. However, her mind was
already a mess.
The live stream is less than an hour away...
Meanwhile, at Golding Group, Evander was going to attend a morning meeting after taking a document from his assistant when
his phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and saw that it was a call from Francesca.

He knitted his brows and answered the call. “Yes?”
“M-Mr. Golding, it’s bad. M-Ms. Floretta disappeared when I went to take her food,” Francesca said incoherently.
Evander’s handsome face fell. “How could a living person just disappear like that?”
“I’m sorry. A pair of her shoes are missing. I-I think she sneaked out again.”
What? She’s still so young. Where could she possibly run off to?
Evander was fuming with anger when he hung up the phone. At that moment, he received a notification for a new message.
