Her Forever

(Book 5)- Chapter 22

Trinity’s POV

We all dressed quickly, cleaning ourselves with the flimsy paper napkins they were so thoughtful to bring. My mind was still boggled that we just did that, outdoors with Theon completely naked. My face burned bright, recalling what we did, but Thaddeus only chuckled behind me while wiggling my butt into my leggings.

“Maybe you are more spirited than we realized.” Thaddeus’ arms wrapped around my waist, he was undoubtedly possessive, and Theon was a bit more stand-offish, or that Thaddeus was hogging me. “Didn’t think we could get you to open up like you did.”

“You both are my mates, and my gut hasn’t steered me wrong, yet so I’m following it.”

Theon buttoned his pants, “what about your heart? Are you willing to follow that?” I bit my l*p. Could I say I was in love with both of these men that I would be spending the rest of my life with? That I was supposed to spend my life with? I couldn’t say the attraction was there, the ‘bond’ was there, but other than that, I wasn’t sure. It seemed so fast. They both seemed to be head over heels for me, but my heart wasn’t going to allow it yet. I’m waiting for them to say something to bring me down. My soul finds my brain stupid for not opening up more; they had been nothing but kind and spoiling.

“Just give me time,” I whispered. “I’ve only known you both for a few days; how can you fall in love so fast?” Thaddeus frowned, but Theon walked towards me in his bare feet, lifting my hands to his lips. “We’ve loved you since before we knew you. We prayed to the goddess every night for you. Our mother told us stories about how our mate would be the most beautiful, spunky, and fearless Luna the warrior pack ever saw. But most of all, she would have control over our hearts.” My eyes might have become a bit bug-eyed when I looked up into his electric blue ones. “Mother hasn’t steered us wrong yet about any of it, so I know it won’t take long for you to be captivated by us.”

My heart sped up; before I was about to come out with some pansy reply, a woman screamed. Streams of profanities spilled from her mouth, and my name came up. “Stacy,” I whispered. “That’s Stacy!” Instead of transforming into their wolves, Theon picked me up, threw me over his shoulder like a caveman, and took off. I would have flipped out, but Stacy was still yelling, and gunshots were going off.

Not to mention, I had a good view of Theon’s tight jeans. How does one work a butt muscle? I squeezed it once to see how tight it was; his skip in his step made me realize it was not a good idea when my stomach collided with his shoulder. “Not right now, Trinity.” I giggled but cried when I heard another gunshot. “We are coming, Stacy!”

Thaddeus was up ahead, jumping over a log until we hit the small clearing, the edge of the border that we had run my old SUV through. Gently, Theon put me own, keeping me behind him. My hands touched the back of his arms while I peeked over.

“You cannot be here, Stacy,” Landon growled. “We are under lockdown. There are no wolves in or out; that goes with distance human family members.” That was the most I had ever heard Landon talk. His hair was standing on end, trying to restrain himself. Was he going to hurt her?

“I don’t’ care; where is Trinity?” Tiny tears pricked her eyes. “She never came to tell me goodbye like she promised, and she isn’t at home. There is something wrong. Did Josiah get her? Aren’t you supposed to watch those dumb bears!?” Did Trinity know my pets were werewolves!?

“Stacy!” I screamed, coming out from behind Thaddeus. Thaddeus grabbed me and pulled me back. “She’s my friend; let go.” Thaddeus still pulled me back while Landon stood in front of Stacy. The heck is going on!?

Elijah jumped out of the truck, hands in his pockets, shrugging his shoulders like he didn’t witness the heated conversation. “How does Stacy know about you guys? Elijah?” Elijah spits out a wad of tobacco; I cringed.

“My aunt is mated to one of the wolves in the pack,” he scratched his head. I swear I didn’t know your wolves were actually werewolves, though, I swear.” His hands went up in surrender. “Humans can’t really sense those ‘things.’

“Neither did I,” Stacy rubbed back the tears. “My cousin lives here with her mate too,” she sniffed. “Your wolves were in the pound, so I thought I thought they really werewolves.”

“Again with the pound,” Theon slapped his forehead. “Never living it down,” he shook his head. I wanted to laugh, cry and hug Stacy, but the boys wouldn’t let me near her.

“Why can’t I see her?” Head darting from my mates to Landon, his jaw ticked and set her aside while Thaddeus did the same to me. “I’m sorry, those bears came after me, and I just found out that my wolves were actually werewolves, and they are my mates.”

“Mates!? And twins! Damn girl!” Stacy slapped my shoulder while laughing. “I’d give anything to have a mate; you are one lucky woman!” Landon winced at the words and walked back closer to Elijah with an evil growl. “You both need to leave,” he growled again. “If the bears find out you know about us, it will put you in danger.”

Thaddeus jerked his head to the right, hearing a scuffle in the woods while watching a brown furry butt scurry away. “Too late,” Thaddeus sighed in defeat. “They have to stay; some bear saw them.” Elijah g*****d, leaning on the truck. “Great.”

We all piled in Elijah’s truck. I sat in the back with the boys while Landon sprinted back in wolf form. The thick dark red fur sprouted on his body weighed heavily on him. The steps were weighty, not trying to conceal his movements while we raced to the packhouse.

“Stacy is his mate,” Theon held onto my h*p. Thaddeus was looking over the side of the truck, watching the tires jump over the rocks.

“I’m not sure why he is fighting it.”

“How do you know?” I mused.

“He was in a protective stance; we were the threat. Why would Landon do that to an outsider?”

“They might be friends?” Then shook his head.

“No, not the way he was standing. He purposefully puffed out his chest, bared his teeth, and his claws were elongated. That was a sign of possessiveness. I don’t know why he hasn’t taken her as his mate. Not our business.”

Thaddeus ignored the conversation; his nose was in the air, scouting the area for more bears. Not that any would dare come into the lion’s den, well, wolf pack.

“Then why not tell her? Does she know?” Theon shrugged his shoulders again. “Don’t go snooping; mates are funny business, and wolves of Earth may do things differently. Back home, in Bergarian, we take makes seriously; they are more liberal here. I’ve heard of packs rejecting their mates and mating themselves off with a chosen mate to combine forces with another pack. It’s frowned upon at home. Earth realm doesn’t have the protection the Bergarian packs do, and many feel they should do it that way.” My heart began to hurt for Stacy. I knew she had Elijah, and Elijah really cared for Stacy, right? Elijah didn’t protect her from Landon, who was waving his hands around telling them to leave.

We pulled up to the packhouse; several warriors were already outside waiting, including the Beta. He ordered the omegas or the smaller wolves to escort Stacy and Elijah to their family’s homes so they couldn’t even stay in the packhouse.

“I’ll see you at dinner. I will call mom and tell her I found you and you are alright. We have a lot to talk about,” Stacy eyed my men up and down, and I pushed her away in fake jealousy. She wouldn’t do that to me. While laughing, Landon watched Stacy with his fists clenched.

“This is going to be bad, isn’t it?” I whispered to Thaddeus. Thaddeus was already standing in front of me, baring his teeth.

“Bambi, don’t,” I whispered. Landon’s head perked up.

“Bambi??” He roared out a burst of laughter. “Did you just call him Bambi?”

“Oopsie,” I covered my mouth.

“What do you call the other one?” To be fair, I had to embarrass them both, even though Theon was trying to cover my mouth. Instead, he tackled me to the ground tickling me. “Thumper!” I squealed until both my men picked me up and carried me into the packhouse. The stares were quickly dealt with when Theon growled at them to look away. My laughter echoed through the halls; the tight grip on my thighs and hair was a dirty turn-on. I liked the savage ways of these werewolves. Treating me like I was their woman. It was primal and really sexy.

Then I remembered dirt was in my hair; I still felt the stickiness on my belly from the pleasure train from earlier. All I could think about was a hot shower once they dumped me on the floor on a mound of furs. My babies both stood up, crossing their arms over their clean muscle shirts, and puffed their chests out. What did they think they had to prove to me? They will always be Bambi and Thumper.

“Do you feel better now? Showing all the other big bad wolves you can carry your mate off to our room?” I cooed, leaning back, pushing my breasts out for good measure. “My babies feel masculine now?” Thaddeus muttered under his breath while grabbing clothes from my suitcase. “I’ll go draw you a bath; everyone can smell our arousal all over you.” I gasped.

“No, they cannot!” I defended.

“Oh yes, they can,” Theon’s hint of mischief gleamed in his eye while helping me off the floor. Both of them left the room, leaving me to my thoughts. Oh boy, I was really in for it and yet not completely turned off by it. It seemed to fit really well the three of us. We were like peas in a pod that had rising s****l tension. By the end of our stay here, I’m sure we will be a nice pea soup of love when we are done.

We still haven’t gone over the whole ‘mating’ thing and what it entails, but it can’t be all that bad, right? They continue to say they haven’t ‘claimed me.’ Does that mean I just agree to be boyfriend, boyfriend, girlfriend?

Slumping my shoulders, I head to the large bay windows looking over the pack. It was the perfect view to visualize the tiny houses, cottages, cabins, and yurts scattered around. They kept a fire going all day, and the dirt paths were lined with gravel, just in case of a wet winter. Ireland was always wet when I visited, and the dripping snowflakes could make it miserable. Is that how the snow is here?

Gazing across the pack, I see Stacy on the porch with her cousin. They look the same age, same short blonde hair. Stacy is talking, waving her hands like they were on fire, and her cousin listens intently. Dragging myself from Stacy’s view, I see Landon not too far away. He was patiently watching her, predator to prey. He wanted her; I could see it in his eyes. Why does he not just go for it?

Did I screw it up? I pulled my bottom l*p repeatedly and let it fling back into place. I pushed Elijah to date her. She said she always liked Elijah; Elijah needed the pushing because he thought he wanted me.

‘Thought he liked me.’ The phrase ran in my head again. It didn’t take much to push him to Stacy. The gears were turning again in my head. Elijah had never shown any interest in me before that day I got my wolves, er mates. In fact, he had never really looked at me or given any particular attention or to Stacy either. I started to notice my ducks weren’t lining up. Elijah just showing up unannounced at my home was very unlike him, especially in a town where people have guns lying around their homes.

He also lied about getting my address from Stacy, then said he got it from the Book Store application roster on my bosses’ desk. I felt a hint of a lie, but I wasn’t sure.

Could this all be a farce? My gut tells me, yes, but I can’t possibly jump to conclusions yet. All of these ‘what ifs” were just that. What ifs. The worst part of all of this is Stacy. Her eyes sparkled when he asked her out but what if she knew Landon was her mate? Would that change everything? Does she have any attraction to Landon at all?

Why would Elijah lie about all this? Why would he?

Was there no secret love triangle at all? Frowning at the drama that would have been fun to watch, I realized I needed to get in the middle. Stacy was the closest girlfriend I ever had and was genuinely concerned about my well-being. Coming out here, waving a gun around Landon’s face, and shooting it off was just the icing on the cake. I giggled out loud while biting my thumbnail.

I just need a missing piece; I needed to know what was up with Elijah. Balling my hand into a fist, tapping the window with the soft part of my hand, Elijah stares up at the window. Hands in his pockets, he gave a friendly smile and waved before his Aunt led him into the house.

“I’m on to you,” I whispered, squinting at the house. My pointer finger tapped it several times.

“How can you be on to us? You haven’t even checked to see what we were doing?” Thaddeus was standing in a tight black speedo; his junk was outlined entirely in the small silky fabric, all while holding champagne glasses. Theon rolled his eyes; he at least had some swimsuit with shorts.

“Hark the Harold Angels Sing,” I choked.

Thaddeus shrugged his shoulders and gave a devilish smile.
