(Book 5)- Chapter 12
Theon’s POV
I won.
We had to reduce our petty argument to rock, paper, scissors to see who would approach Trinity first. There was no reasoning with Thaddeus, oh no. He wanted to put on the moves and dominate her, make her feel how much we wanted her.
No, this had to be calculated. So I cheated; I might have used the mind-link to slip in Thaddeus’ terrifying mind. My wolf wasn’t so happy about that. Something about ‘invasion of privacy,’ but Thaddeus’ wolf gave up the information willingly because he doesn’t want this screwed up either.
We knew Trinity and her friend Stacy were eyeing us at the bar. Our peripheral vision was top-notch, and our hearing even better. I wanted to rip the tongue out of Mary-I’m-so-extra-I-need-two-first-names b***h. Gay? Are you kidding? Sure we were dressed to the nines, but that doesn’t mean we are gay.
Trinity’s pouty mouth remained partially opened as I tucked my sleeves into my dress shirt. Her heart was racing, and hell, mine was too. I never had to approach a woman; they came to me. Even then, I turned them down. We saved ourselves just for her.
Trinity wasn’t just any woman, she was a goddess, and she would be treated as such. As a wolf, I should grovel at her feet and k**s her little pink toes she painted the last night.
F**k, I was nervous. I was extremely nervous. Was dad ever nervous meeting mom? Hell, it was hard to read him; I heard so many stories about how he met her. One was at a club setting like this, and he told her to screw off and told her she was a w***e, and the other story was that he chased her in a lake, and she climbed up a tree.
Either way, that wasn’t happening to my mate.
Duke was pacing; I was panting. Tiny drops of perspiration bubbled at my hairline. Wanting nothing more than to run my fingers through it, I dared not. It was a nervous habit; I didn’t want her to know I was nervous; I wanted to be her bad boy.
Trying to walk as confidently as I could, the butterflies in my stomach wouldn’t stop. If I held my hand up, I’m sure it was shaking. And they think the good-looking guys don’t get nervous. Hell, we do; I hope my pits don’t sweat before I reach her, just a few steps away.
“Mate,” Duke howled like it was the first time we saw her.
I stopped right in front of her, using my two human eyes to gaze into her beautiful green ones. Gold flecks flickered as the strobe lights hit at different angles at the bar. “Hi,” I spat out. I heard a snort in the mind link.
“That was pathetic,” Thaddeus laughed again.
I cleared my throat to ignore his worthless badgering.
“Hi,” Trinity whispered; her eyes became enormous, and her friend glanced at both of us. Her head was out of control the way she whipped her head back and forth. My eyes never left Trinity’s as Elijah came up and pulled a worried Stacy away.
“But, I’m here wing-woman… I got to talk her up!” She squealed as she tried to crawl back.
“She’s doing just fine, now come on.” Elijah pulled her away while both Trinity and I locked eyes.
“I’m Theon,” Trinity didn’t move, and I thought she didn’t hear me, so I leaned over and ever so carefully whispered in her ear. “I’m Theon. What’s yours?” My lips touched the shell of her ear, and her body instantly shivered.
“Smooth,” Thaddeus joked.
“Trinity,” she spoke. The music was a bit loud; I heard her loud and clear, but I needed another excuse to come closer. I leaned in and put my ear next to her face. “Trinity,” she said a bit louder. I gave her a smile, and her heart picked up again.
“Dance with me,” I didn’t give her the option; I pulled her hand up and frowned at the cardigan. I had hoped she had ditched it by the time we got here. Pulling it gently off her shoulders, my fingertips grazed the strapless side of the dress. Biting my l*p, so I don’t c*m in my pants right there, my eyes never left hers as I threw the worthless scrap of material to the bar. My hand wraps around her waist as I lead her to the dance floor.
Her eyes never left me, which gave a boost to my ego. For once in my life, I worried about my looks; did she find me attractive? Back home, we had she-wolves lining up balls and galas that we never questioned, but her, Trinity, didn’t come to us. That made me more intrigued and made me want her even more. The hunter to his prey.
I felt her still staring at the side of my face as I looked towards the middle of the floor. I wanted her right in the center, where that annoying cashier would see the perfect vision of me grinding Trinity. Gay my a*s.
I swung Trinity’s body flushed against mine. There wasn’t a puff of air between her breasts and my chest. My hands lowered to her waist, maybe grazing her lower back as her h**s began to move along with mine.
Too Close by Next came on, and damn, the gods blessed me with the best song for this moment.
Baby, when we’re grinding
I get so excited
Ooh, how I like it
I try, but I can’t fight it
Oh, your dancing real close
Plus it’s real real slow
(You know what you’re doing, don’t you)
You’re making it hard for me
Trinity was becoming more comfortable with my hands, so I moved them up her waist and back, and she did the same. Her dainty hands trailed up my chest as I tried to suppress a low growl. Surely she couldn’t hear it, but I knew she felt it. The dull purr tickled her fingertips as she let out a harsh breath.
Her body let out her sweet scent of arousal; the first sniff was intoxicating. Her cinnamon ginger snap smell was now dipped in her honey, and my d**k instantly grew hard. A squeak sounded from her throat as Thaddeus had to barge in. Trinity had just become comfortable dancing with me, and now Thaddeus goes to push the limit.
I’m going to have to roll with it.
Thaddeus gave her a wink and slid his hands around her waist. He was the a*s-man, so of course, he wasn’t complaining at the position left open to him.
Was it her desire or just her body’s natural reaction? That was the question that plagued me. Because goddess, I wanted her. Not just for my selfish s****l desires but for her. I wanted to love her, shower her with love and affection, and I wanted it in return. The gift of a mate is beautiful; the countless balls I’ve been to was my testimony of it. Hell, my own parents. Their eyes only for each other and their love buried deep within their souls.
Trinity’s initial reaction with Thaddeus coming behind her startled her. I feared she would stop and ask for him to back up, but she took him on with ease, to my surprise. Her peach nestled right up against his crotch, and I heard him curse silently.
Trinity got lost in the music; hell, we all did. The touching on the outer part of her clothes was enough, but of course, Thaddeus wanted more and was willing to push the envelope. His nose trailed her bare neck on the sleeveless portion. Kissing her freckled skin made Trinity’s n*****s instantly harden, and my stupid hand had a mind of its own. Taking my thumb, I flicked it gently, causing her to let out a whimper. Goddess, it was hard, perky; taking it into my mouth would bring me the most pleasure.
Thaddeus started kissing her shoulder and up her neck, her head leaning back on his shoulder. My mouth went straight to the unoccupied side and immediately started sucking. This was the damn hottest thing I have ever done, better than any of those pornos we watched for, ‘educational purposes” to train ourselves for our mate. Our hands never touched another female; these hands, my c**k was just for her.
My hand went down her h*p and to her thigh; the dress was riding up higher, leaving her pale leg exposed. Trinity’s skin was so damn soft, so silky, and damn near perfect. The people around us faded away as I reveled in her scent, her touch.
Trinity’s hand went to the back of my head, squeezing my tousled hair. Groaning into her neck, I pulled her thigh up to open herself, so my c**k could rub on her most intimate place. Thaddeus took her m**n for a sign to continue and slid his hand underneath her breast to cup it, and used his lips to suck right below her neck. Trinity’s face began to turn, and I could feel Thaddeus’ excitement through our brotherly bond. He was going to k**s those damn lips.
A voice clearing broke me from our trance. Rage coursed through my brother and me as we glanced to look at the intruder. My lips were red and puffy from the giant hickey I left on Trinity’s neck. It was the closest I would get to mark my mate, and I damn will do it when she lets me.
“Can I cut in?”
F*****g-hill-billy-Josiah-the-weak-werebear.
Thaddeus and I snapped our heads at his annoying voice. Trinity was knocked out of her pleasure haze as she shook her head and tried to back away. Thaddeus gripped her waist tightly as her arms came up to shield her chest. Dark marks on her neck from our earlier ministrations made my wolf howl in victory.
My eyes glowed as Josiah realized he had done a major f**k-up. “Oh, damn,” he stumbled backward. His quick curse and his step-back were only for a moment as he stepped forward again to grit his teeth.
“I don’t know what you guys are doing here, but I staked my claim on her first.” Trinity balled her fists up and elbowed Thaddeus in his gut. A g***n was let out before Trinity’s piercing gaze landed on the lot of us.
“Now see here, I am claimed to no one.” she snapped.
“Those hickies on your neck say otherwise,” Stacy butted in. Trinity slapped her hand on her neck and blushed red.
“I- I- was just caught up in the moment,” she rushed as she stepped away from the group. Grabbing her cardigan, I run to catch up to her and hold her arm. Trinity jerks away and scowls.
“No one,” she hissed again.
“Please wait, Trinity. Please.” My voice pleading. “We just want to get to know you.” Trinity’s confusion played on her face as she glanced back at Thaddeus.
“I’m Thaddeus, his hand went out to grab Trinity’s, but she backed away. Looking between the both of us, she shook her head.
“I’m not into whatever this is,” she waved her hands around at us. Her friends were staring from afar, Maryann obviously pissed. Trinity grabbed her cardigan again and pulled the keys from it. “By Stacy, happy birthday,” she shouted and stomped, rushed out the door, avoiding the stares following her.
“That went well,” Thaddeus growled. Turning on his heel, he stomped right back to the piece of s**t who caused this mess. Josiah held his ground while Thaddeus gripped him by the collar and pulled him outside.
Our breaths could be seen in the night air; Josiah was thrown in the alley beside the bar into a pile of trashcans. “The hell is wrong,” Josiah stopped speaking as we both glared at him with our wolves’ eyes. His body trembled. That’s what I thought.
“Trinity is our mate; you should stop pursuing or whatever you are doing.”
“Alphas?” Josiah stuttered.
“Royal Alpha’s if you want to get technical.” Three wolves came out the back doors, glancing up and down the alley; the group leader strode towards us, head bowed and neck bared.
“Your highnesses, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize-“
“Enough,” Thaddeus waved. “You did well. You are with the Red Moon Pack correct?”
The wolves nodded. “I’m Landon, head warrior. Beside me are Rochester and Salem. We are tasked to check the town since it is on the outskirts of our territory and considered neutral ground with the bears.” Landon eyed Josiah, “he’s a bit of a trouble maker, that one.”
Josiah was still sitting on the ground while he grunted in disapproval. He was no longer the pretty boy on the prowl for some helpless human to satisfy his rut.
“You ruined the first time our mate saw us as a human, cub. Do you realize what a mess you’ve put us in?” Thaddeus bared his teeth as Josiah flinched back. Thaddeus and I weren’t just werewolf royalty, but shifter royalty. He was in deep s**t, and his Sleuth was now at risk for losing their territory.
“Hey man, I didn’t know,” he waved his hands. “Wait a minute, are you guys her wolves?” Thaddeus and I looked at each other, annoyed and grunted.
“Get out of here, Josiah. The head Sleuth will be notified of your ‘issues.” Josiah didn’t waste any time by crawling out of the alley and wiping off his jeans. Sure, he was intimidating to humans, but he was nothing but an ant beneath our shoes.
“We can’t interfere much with him, Alphas, since it is neutral ground and humans present, but we do what we are allowed.”
“Excellent work, love to stay and chat, but we have a mate to catch,” my words were hasty as I started to walk away without saying goodbye. Chuckles were heard, but I paid no mind. We had to get back home and fast. Trinity was upset, and no doubt she wanted comfort from her two best wolves.
“Still going to tell her everything?” Thaddeus jogged up to me as we opened the run-down pickup we bought.
“Every bit,” I gripped the steering wheel determined.
