(Book 3)- Chapter 77
Willa’s POV
The night was slowly fading, and I knew I had to rise early before the dawn approached. My dreams would have been filled with nightmares if Orion didn’t stay last night. I don’t think we will ever be away from each other from now on. The thought of being taken away infuriated me and how weak I had been. I fought to the end, though, making sure that Carlos felt every bit of my claws rake across his pathetic neck. It ended up better than expected for a warrior to be beaten by someone who has never fought a day in her life. My legs and arms were completely healed, thanks to fae and siren speed, and my stomach only had a few bruises left over. By this evening, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were gone entirely.
All along, I thought I was weak, but Sadie was right. I was strong. She is definitely wiser than her years, as they all say. The calm she could radiate in a room certainly helped me throw away my deafening thoughts of being a failure. Now that I have battled my very own battle and alone, I feel a little bit more worthy. I had a long way to prove that I could be a warrior queen, but it was a step in the right direction.
Before I could move, Orion’s tight arms held me grasped my breasts as he chuckled into my ear. “Still tired?” he rasped, and I wiggled my rear end to let him know that I was feeling friskier than anything. “Don’t do that, Darling, or we will never get this ceremony over with.” Giggling with my eyes closed, I felt something wet and cold touch my nose. My eyes popped open to be greeted with large blue eyes and a white furry face.
“You didn’t!” I squealed. I wiggled out of Orion’s arms to grab the adorable fox I saw just a few weeks ago. It was the size of a fluffy raccoon, and its three tails all wagged happily as I started to nuzzle into it. The feelings were mutual; we both thought of each other as equally adorable. “Orion!” I gasped again as it started to lick my nose. “He’s so cute!” I squealed as it began to jump around the bed and burrow under the covers.
“He’s for you; Fionn said this was the only thing that made you smile at the marketplace the day you visited.” The light blue ears flicked back and forth looking at Orion but clumsily rolled back to my side of the bed. “He’s adorable; I love him!” Around its neck was a beautiful diamond studded collar with a blank nameplate.
“Figured you would want to name him,” Orion sat up with his head propped up with his elbow. “How about Tokie? He seems he has a fun little personality!” Orion was still completely naked, and my attention to my new pet was diverted quickly back to him. Orion grabbed the back of my head and pulled me in for a passionate k**s as I toppled on top of him. He greedily forced his tongue in my mouth while I straddled my legs over his morning wood. “Orion,” I breathed as I ground my bare p***y against it. I was already wet, those few days of sleeping had awoken a s*x goddess, and I was ready to pounce.
I traced my finger across his chiseled jaw, his amber eyes darkened with l**t. A few of his fangs started to tickle his lips. My heartbeat quickened, wanting nothing more than for him to bite me on my mark. Banging on the door ensued before anything more heated could happen, and we both woke from our lustful haze.
“Time to get ready, Darling.” Orion stood from the bed in all his naked glory, not even bothering to cover himself. His e******n sprang free and bounced as he walked to a picture on the far side of the room and moved it. “See you soon, my sexy queen.” I licked my lips, and Orion was gone as the picture moved back into place. Holy crap, that was awesome. Why haven’t I seen that before!? I wanted to sneak over and move the picture, but the door broke free of the lock.
Violet came bouncing in along with Elaine, Amora, and Sadie. “Time to get you dressed, my little s*x addict! I’m so proud,” Violet cooed. Rolling my eyes and covering my chest, they helped me out of bed and made sure I washed any remnants from last night from my body. They scrubbed it one more time full of lavender and bath salts to make my body shine again, relieving myself of any dried b***d that tried to seep through my skin.
In record time, I was dressed in my beautiful petal dress. The light blue reverse ombre dress made me smile as I swished it back and forth across the floor. I really was a fairy princess, I snickered.
My father entered the room to watch them put the final touches as they put clusters of light blue starfish in my long, thick white hair. It was curled and put in a loose braid that hung at the right side of my shoulder. The corset hung low, so my wings would be able to be free, something my father was proud of since my wings held the colors of my people so well. They were also one of a kind; no other fae had colors of this magnitude on their wings.
“It shows you are certainly a royal siren fae, he joked as he looked at them. “There are even small hints of scales on them; I bet you could use them as fins in the water.” I thought it would make sense to try since I didn’t have a tail. I could keep up with Luke in the water when we went on swims.
There would be no crown on my head since I will be baring the Fae crown, so my father retrieved an intricate diamond and sapphire necklace in the shape of a dolphin. Father was a bit disappointed that I wouldn’t wear the crown he had initially been picked out, but I was being placed as a Fae Queen and not a siren. The necklace was small and delicate, nothing that would be considered over the top, which I loved.
I would also be walking barefoot, as a representation of Atlantis, most Atlanteans didn’t wear shoes, and I was happy I didn’t have to walk around in tall stilettos. My toenails had been painted white with tiny silver sparkles.
My heart jumped a few times as I saw the sun began to break the surface of the water. Orion and I certainly had the best room of all the castle. Waking up with the sea and the sun was a sight to adore, especially since my roots led back to the sea.
“Are you ready?” Luke walked in with Sammy. All my brothers were donned in their traditional uniforms, which meant no shirts, just shells of metals and seashell necklaces. They were wearing trousers that fitted their bodies and a large blue leather sash that dangled to the floor. Their hair was gelled back, and small crowns were set on their heads. I had my fingers crossed they would all find their mates today; the crowds outside had gathered to dance in the streets as the people inside witnessed first hand.
Sammy continued to gawk at his mate while wearing his warrior regalia that looked like a human uniform of tans and greens. Sammy’s tattoos poked through above the collar of his uniform, and Luke kept tracing his finger, causing Sammy to shiver. I snickered, and my father bumped my shoulder to keep quiet. I couldn’t help it, my big bro got his mate, and he was so happy!
“Ready as I will ever be,” I replied to Luke as I grabbed a single blue rose from the vase. There were no large bouquets of flowers, just one rose that would be joined with Orion’s once I arrived at both thrones. Each flower would be put together in one single vase, symbolizing our coming together to create a new beauty of a nation.
I took one sniff of the flower while my father held out his arm for me to take. Violet, Amora, and Sadie walked down the aisle in front of us, not as bridesmaids but as viewers of the ceremony. Their mates gripped them tightly and had them sit on their laps, a great way to save on seating.
My father and I had halted at the door waiting for the opening music to start. I saw Violet’s mother and her mate, River. Both of them smiled and gave me loving waves. I bet they never guessed their adoptive daughter would now be the queen of a land they had hidden from me for so many years.
The room was dark, but I could see tall decorative trees that scaled the room. Some were as high as the distant ceiling and held tiny fairy lights and many sprites that glowed, giving the room a romantic dim hue. Some trees had ropes of tulle of pale whites, blues, and creams, making the throne room not seem so vastly large but more intimate.
Many looked back to stare at both me and my father, King of Atlantis. His classic royal blue suit with his metals of battles and honor stood proudly. He was the only Atlantean with the most clothing in the crowd. His dark hair and scruffy beard were neatly trimmed for such an occasion while Elaine smiled seductively at him from afar.
“Breathe, Dad,” I joked as he started growling at her. I’m sensing a mating night soon.
The throne room was still dark, with the crowd holding candles to their bodies. The suns were close to rising, and that was when we would begin our long walk through the throngs of people. Orion stood tall in his white decorative suit. Gold and silver outlined every battle he had won, which was many. His cape was touching the floor and slightly dragging. Unique gold leaves outlined his cloak that trailed off the edges, giving it an organic look. Somehow, he could still leave his tunic open to let his chest shine in tune with the sun.
Taking a shaky breath, my father gave me a gentle squeeze with his hand. “I’m so proud of you, princess. You’ve grown to be the daughter I’ve always dreamed of.” I glanced at the silent tears that were threatening to leave his eyes. “You will always be my father and expect a lot of visits, OK?”
Father took a shaky sigh and gripped me tighter. “I’m holding it to you, princess.” The harps began to play as the sun skipped over the horizon. Bright colors danced on the floor of blues, greens, and purples for the people in the room to start murmuring and aweing over. Taking my attention from the floor to the stained glass window, I see Orion and me. We are in each other’s embrace with my wings fully extending. The floor was now covered in bright colors as the light went through the window. It was the most beautiful piece of artwork I had ever seen; how he could get someone to construct something like this in such a short amount of time was awe-inspiring.
“It’s so beautiful,” I whispered. The harp music continued to play, and my new fairy fox hopped down the aisle with me. He brushed my dress that made the light blue at the bottom swish across the floor. Several children started giggling while my new pet sat in front of Orion proudly. Orion’s eyes met mine, and his face held such affection my heart was going to explode. His eyes were glassy; hell, mine was too as he reached for my hand.
My father took my hand, kissed it, and handed me over to a crying Orion. His tears left his face as he pulled me to him, and I kissed each one that trailed his cheeks. “Don’t cry; we are together now,” I chided. Orion gave a small smile and pecked my lips as he held me so tightly no one could ever come between us.
The officiator, which was a high-ranking light coven witch who conducted the ceremony. I honestly couldn’t tell you what she said because I was looking at my mate the entire time. He radiated so much love, and affection and the brilliance of light that shown from him left me blinded in love for him. I could feel him swimming in my soul. Who would have thought I would be here today with a man I had so much love for? I didn’t know what love was until I met him; I didn’t know what it meant to feel until him. Thank the goddess for a bond because, without it, I would have indeed been lost forever.
Orion, feeling my sadness, pulled my hand up to k**s it as the official continued to talk about the importance of the relationship between a king and queen.
“Willa, princess of the Atlantean Kingdom, do you officially take your mate, Orion, King of the Fae Kingdom as your mate and life partner, the queen of this nation and all the responsibilities that go with it?” Without hesitation, “I do.”
“And Orion-“Orion cut him off before another word was spoken, “I do damnit,” and he pulled me into his mouth into a knee-bending k**s. He leaned over my body, pressed against my breasts as he held me up with one arm wrapped around my waist and the other behind my head. The suns had finally risen, and the entire room was engulfed with bursts of light. Pixies started cheering, and small bursts of glitter, white feathers, and bubbles exploded into the air.
Cheers were heard throughout the room. Molly was sitting on Alonso’s lap, both looking much better after their own brush with death. Caleb was sucking face with Eudora, and Luke and Sammy held onto each other, gazing into each other’s eyes. I started laughing at how happy everyone was but as selfish as I was, I was more excited to be with Orion. No one else mattered, just him and I in our own little world.
While the cheering was exploding over the throne room, the officiator came over and had both Orion and I sit in our respective thrones. First, Orion was given an enormous ornamental crown that was not for everyday use. He sat with a grin on his face as he held my hand, and another crown was placed on my head. It was silver with hints of gold, amber stones, and blue sapphire in the middle.
Orion gave a tight squeeze to my hand and pulled me out of the chair and straight onto his lap.
The cheers from outside the palace walls shook the floors. Fairies and sprites had flown up into the windows to get a glimpse of their new king and queen on their throne. Banging on windows, stomps of the floors, the sounds became overwhelming as I nuzzled into my mate’s neck.
This day could not get any more perfect; I sighed contentedly. The people whom I love the most were in this very room. I’ve made new friends, found family, and now my life felt complete. That is until we made our own little prince and princesses when the time was right.
“The fun is just getting started, Darling,” he whispered in my ear as his hand tried to trail up my dress.
“Oh, I’m counting on it,” I joked back as he leaned me back into the chair and kissed me senselessly.
