Her Forever

(Book 3)- Chapter 57

Annan’s POV

Dealing with Orion’s father was not on my list of “most exciting activities.” I told him it would be acceptable to go alone to take a few of our warriors, but Nyx insisted. He tried to be chivalric and say he owed the country that much.

A quiet flight through the countryside was what I was hoping for. All the warriors were now donned with older uniforms taken to storage before we had to hide our wings. Even though there were at least fifty of us in total, you still could not hear the flapping of our wings like you would hear the bees that look for honey.

These were our stealthiest men, they had their arrows, swords, and several had spears for their choice of weapons and the darker camouflaged clothing to be stealthy enough to hit Vamparia was on point. We made it an apparent effort to stay away from Vamparia, it was the darker side of Bergarian could cause a fae and fairies’ moods somewhat depressed. We craved the light while they craved the dark. Even though the light sources still shine there, just not as bright with the thickly spaced trees and overhanging flora and fauna.

Nyx was struggling to keep up, he had not trained enough over the years, but I was sure to keep an eye on him. Orion would appreciate that now that his father had was starting to act like a parent.

Only 300 years too late.

As we approached the edge of Vamparia I realized we would have some difficulty maneuvering about with our mass numbers. Breaking up the large group into several smaller ones and having themselves cloaked with a scent neutralizer, we headed in different directions.

Since having our wings expelled from our bodies only a few days ago, several faes took it upon understanding they can also use their blessed power each fae has. It could be like Orion’s, who can take control of people’s bodies and read auras, or something more simple like being able to frost the foliage. Several warriors asked permission, and it was immediately granted. Their power was to render themselves invisible to the opposing race. We could see them, but other races could not, a beneficial gift in their line of work. They would be promoted as soon as this mess was cleared.

My gift was not as impressive as most, even though I was firm in battle. I had a war tactic ability; I could place my opponents’ steps before taking them and go for their weak spots. That was what helped me grab Carlos and have Orion rip Willa from his grasp.

Nyx decided to stay with me along with two other warriors as we tread through the forest. Our steps were light, and hardly any sound escaped our feet until we heard rustling through the bushes. We all crouched down, hoping to find the source of the noise. If the goddess were on our side today, the hidden B***d Coven that had been cloaked in the glamor spells would be found.

A small yip and a splash were heard as Nyx and I looked over the foliage. “What was that?” He whispered, but I quickly shushed him as I saw a vampire girl along the banks. She was climbing up, coughing, and trying to stand up while two Ogars were looming overhead.

“Eh, look here? A weak one, isn’t it?” The large Ogar started. Ogars were hideous-looking creatures; they may not be as tall as a fae, but their body mass was large, green and they carried a series of warts and small gatherings of bumps on their bodies. The more imperfections you had, the more a female wanted you. Orgars didn’t follow the mating process from Selene, and I even wonder if she continues to try and mate them.

“Please, just leave me alone,” the vampire whimpered. There were several scrapes on her body, a black eye, and bands around her wrists with chains. Her red eyes looked up, pleading with them as the second ogar pushed her back into the sand.

“She’s weakened; she has dogwood bands on her wrists,” the large laughed in triumph.

“Excellent, I’ll take her first. You wait until I’m done,” the largest pulled her by the ankle, causing her dress to ride up. “Ugh, not a single wart. An ugly thing you are. Good thing we ain’t keepin’ ya.” The girl screamed as she clawed at the dirt for him to let her go.

The tightness in my chest wouldn’t allow this to carry on. Fighting two ogars with just the men we had was going to be difficult. They were strong, powerful, and could lift a full-grown tree out of the ground. The girl screamed again as the ogar gripped her ankle, easily snapping it in half.

Without hesitation, we all stormed the small beach around the lake. “Unhand her!” I pulled my sword from its sheath as the others followed. I looked to Nyx, who only nodded his head as we took off our capes. “That wasn’t a question,” I demanded again as I started to lunge forward. The warriors cut off the smaller one as their swords began to hit the beast.

My interest was the largest, the biggest challenge. Nyx stood at my side in a fighting stance, I wasn’t sure how strong he would be, so I was counting on myself. The young girl looked me dead in the eye as she tried to pull away from the chaos. Eyes widening, she covered her mouth as I went into a fighting stance.

Mate

Before lunging forward, I had a shit-eating grin on my face as I looked back to my attacker. His grunts and growls were pounding the ground as I began to use my light footedness to scamper around him. The ogers irritation grew as he saw I wasn’t even trying. Nyx had a few good hits until he was slammed into a nearby tree. “Stay down, your highness,” I yelled back at him while taking another glance at my mate.

“Your name, maiden?” I asked curiously. Her eyes darted from me to the oger as I continued to jump behind him and hit the brute with the butt of my sword. Swearing, he rubbed his head as I took my sheath and slipped it between his legs, causing him to fall to the ground. I was going to milk this chivalry s**t. What better way to woo my mate than to beat up her attacker and whisk her off to my chambers and bed her the very same day? Alright, maybe not the same day, but it will be damn near close.

“Juliet,” she barely spoke as I took another jab at the ogar who was being sufferable. I had never heard so many swear words come out of one of my enemies as I did this one. “And may I ask why you have bands on your wrists?” I winked at her as I grabbed a vine from a nearby tree, wrapping it around the ogars feet.

“I was captured and experimented on; these kept me weak,” I growl from hearing my mate might have been tortured, caused a surge of violence wrack through me as I tripped the beast over and tied his feet and his legs. Ogars were like crocodiles, and they had considerable strength punching outward but hardly any strength as they pulled inward. The wrappings kept him tight as I kicked him in the head for one last measure.

I strode over to my mate, ready to hold out my hand until Nyx started clapping and looking over my prey. “Well done, Annan!” Rolling my eyes, I squat down to help my mate. Juliet was drenched from head to toe making her hair as dark as a dragon’s cave. The bright red eyes bore into my soul. Ruby red lips were that of a doll, plump and beautiful. Her skin shivered, and her ankle had taken on a black and blue hue. Just from sitting, I could see how curvy she was. Thick thighs and a good-sized bosom taunted me as she blushed. Goddess, she was meant for me. I knew I would never have a fae mate due to my real feelings about stick-thin figures, but this was beyond surprising. I would never have thought this goddess would drop into my lap.

“Let’s get these off of you, shall we?” Juliet nodded her head bashfully as I grabbed her hands in mine. We both gasped at the tingles as I ripped the wooden bands and chains along with it. Rubbing her wrists, the red and blistered skin began to heal along with her ankle.

“Thank you,” her voice was sultry and low; it gave my wings a good shudder as she smiled back at me.

“Your name is Annan?” I nodded my head as I pulled her up from the ground. I held her by her waist and pulled her close.

“Repeat it,” I whispered into her ear. A shiver ran down her arm as I put my hand on her arm to warm her while she healed. “Annan?”

Pulling her closer, her body came flush with mine, and she gently laid her head on my chest. Her bosom kept her waist apart from me as my d**k instantly hardened. Goddess, don’t feel that yet.

“You saved my life, Annan. I don’t know what would have happened if…” I put my finger to her lips as she quieted down.

“But it didn’t, and I’m here now. I’ll always be here for you.” Her smile widened, and she quickly hugged me again. “I am glad you are safe, but I need to know who put these bands on you so I can go kill them swiftly.” Several of the warriors rolled the oger to the lake, and he was instantly submerged in the water, which would eventually drown him. Piercing the skin of an oger took special tools and sometimes blessed weaponry, so drowning was our best bet. The smaller was long gone in the water as well.

“Witches, the B***d Coven,” Juliet sputtered. “I escaped with the help of a girl named Violet. There were several of us, and we got separated. Panic surged through me hearing Violet help. Did she get caught?

“Do they know that Violet helped?” Juliet shook her head no.

We took a small camp by the lake. The information that Juliet was about to speak of perked everyone’s interest. This would be the first time we had spoken to anyone on the other side of the B***d Coven besides Violet, and since we left this morning, we had heard nothing.

“They are evil, evil, I tell you.” Violet sniffed. They have captured several races and have taken their b***d. They are trying to strengthen their powers. Each witch has their specific ability, just like Faes do, or so I’m told. Some can summon fire, Bergarian soil, and weather but only in small increments. They want to combine the strongest witches and take over the supernatural council so they can be the ultimate deliberators on the humans on Earth.”

Juliet shivered as I put my cloak around her. “They captured my family, and they knew our family, once aged to be 200, could start to see the future. They originally wanted the Queen of the Moon Kingdom, but she is unobtainable, with Seth being her daughter’s mate. She’s too protected, so we were next. I haven’t hacked into my power yet, my b***d wasn’t ripe, and my family was all older than me and couldn’t be controlled, so they,..” Juliet’s breath hitched, and she buried her face in her hands. As she sobbed, I looked at the others with a look of disdain, and we were going to have a difficult time. Even if Sibille decided against going after Orion and the throne, the B***d Coven would still try to take over.

I pulled Juliet from her seat on the log and put her in my lap. This may be too soon, but I knew the bond would comfort her. Juliet immediately stopped crying and held onto me. “My little Rose, how long have you been there?” Juliet sniffed again, eight years. I’m thirty now, and they are trying to invoke my power to wake up sooner. I wanted to die; I thought about it so often. The poking, the prodding they did. Barely enough b***d, just enough to keep me alive,” she hiccuped again, and the warriors, along with Nyx, stood up to give us privacy.

“Are you hungry now, my Rose?” Juliet paused but shook her head no as I pulled her from my neck. All I cared about was her and her safety, and now, looking at her, you could see the difficult life she had led before me. Even with the beautiful curves she had, she was meant for more meat around those delicious thighs. Her ashen body would glow as soon as she ate; in fact, she would heal so much faster.

“Please don’t lie, not now,” I whispered to her, concerned. She nodded her head yes that she was hungry. I knew vampires could he solid food, but from the looks of her, she needed b***d. Thank the gods for the cultural classes we had to take in primary. Otherwise, I would be lost here. “I want you to drink from me,” I pressed.

“No! I can’t!” Juliet spoke, startled. “It has been too long since I’ve eaten, and I don’t’ know if I can stop.” I laughed at her as she tried to stand up. Holding her close, I pushed back some of her raven hair. “My little Rose, you can’t hurt me. I regenerate too quickly. Besides, I’m your mate. You are supposed to drink from me, always.” The hesitant look in her eyes got her thinking before she whispered an, ‘OK.”

Juliet’ pulled up my arm near my wrist before I pulled back. “What are you doing?”

“Drinking?” she blushed as she looked back down. Pulling her head back up to me, I asked, “why there? Why not my neck?” She gripped my tunic in frustration, and I started to chuckle at her.

“I have never drunk from there before.” Vampires drinking from one’s neck was considered very intimate, and I knew that, but I wanted to tease her, but I wanted her to do it most of all. It wouldn’t be a marking bite, but a feeding bite which is two completely different things. I pray she will mark me soon so I can mark her.

“Can you?” I pressed. “I’ve looked for you so long, my Rose. It would please me if you would.” Juliet smiled as she it her bottom l*p.

“Only if you are comfortable,” a mischievous smirk graced her lips as she leaned in. Meeting her halfway, I gave her a light k**s. For vampires being known as cold creatures, it was the complete opposite. It was warm, and her lips tasted of bright cherries, the same color as her lips. I felt myself purr as she broke away and kissed down my cheek to my neck. She began lightly sucking on my shoulder as I moved my head and felt her sharp fangs tickle me.

In one swift bite, her teeth sunk into my skin, the warmth of her lips soothed the calm flow of b***d escaping my body. I gripped her tighter, and she did the same. Our bodies melted together as the slight growl of a purr escaped her throat. She was soothing me, rocking me into a comforting state as she continued.
