Chapter Prologue
The royal adviser cautiously stepped around the books and wood chunks that were scattered across the room. He quickly made his way to the large figure looking out the window. His king. The moon made the man's raven hair glow and his eyes, which were flickering between blue and red, light up.
"Adrian, we have found her." Immediately the king turned around and grabbed the poor man by his shirt collar.
"Where is she?" He ground out.
"S-she was ca-captured by the l-leader of the re-rebels," the man stuttered out.
He released the man and punched the wall behind him, cursing all the while, but suddenly turned back to the man shaking behind him.
"Daniel, we have to find her before my brother does. I am not losing her to him." He softened his voice this time, not wanting to continue frightening his friend.
He just hated being away from her. His Layla. And now his brother has a chance of taking her and he could not bear that thought.
Looking out the window he muttered, "I will find you, Layla. And when I get you back, I will protect you for eternity."
