Hearts On Fire

Chapter 29:

The next day in the bathroom

In Amaya’s head: The day of the wedding came. God, I didn't expect that I'll be this nervous. I was shaking. My palms were sweating, practically trying to gas before air. Azrael and Khiara were with me earlier this morning to help with the preparations. They’re both lovely but my panic was rising, I couldn't stand being around anyone. I needed to be alone. Don't get me wrong, I didn't wanna change my mind or anything, I would never do that to Azar. And I was more than certain that I wanted to be his wife but I guess I'm just not used to getting this much attention and being in the spotlight. Everyone was pointing their fingers at me my whole life, now these people with their warm smiles made me feel weird so I rushed to the bathroom to take another bath and relax a bit. I could hear Miranda explaining to them that all of this is probably too much for me then I heard them leave. How embarrassing. Their son and brother is getting married and I practically threw them out.

Miranda: “Bub, are you okay?”

Amaya: “I'm fine, just a little bit nauseous.”

Miranda: “Are you pregnant?”

Amaya: “What? No. I don't think so. I'm just anxious as hell.”

Miranda: “Good hey, listen to me. Everything is gonna be fine and you know you can call everything off. Azar loves you so much. You being happy is the most important thing to him. If you're not feeling like doing this, you can postpone it. “

Amaya: “No, I wanna marry him and I can't wait to see him. Maybe that's one more thing that's making me nervous. I didn't see him since this morning.”

Miranda: “He took you from your party last night. You spent the whole night together and I'm for sure you didn't sleep. You see, I'm right. Not to mention he left only 2 hours ago.”

Amaya: “Oh come on, like you don't miss Thorne already. Right.”

Miranda: “Well I can't deny that.”

Amaya: “You don't think Azrael and Khiara are mad at me or something?”

Miranda: “Not at all. They saw how nervous you are and they didn't want to add to it. it was their idea that it's for the best for you to only be with someone who you love, which is me of course. On a serious note if you want this wedding to happen, we better start getting ready. After your hair and makeup you'll pick a dress.”

Amaya: “I don't know which one to pick. They’re all so beautiful.”

Miranda: “You have five options and I've seen you in every single one of them. You'll look like a goddess no matter which one you choose. Not to mention that Azar will probably tear it to pieces as soon as the wedding is finished.”

Amaya: “I'm not gonna let him run the dress.”

Miranda: “Go get ready.”

Amaya: “Mhm. But there's one thing…should I cover the scar?”

Miranda: “No, no need for that.”

Amaya: “You're right. Azar told me that scars or not, the most beautiful girl in the world. I can't wait for our wedding night.”

Miranda: “Yes, because it's your first time together. (both laugh). Go and pick that dress now and get ready.”

Amaya: “Mhm.”

In Amaya’s head: How am I supposed to pick only one dress when they’re all beautiful? This one is the one, this one's perfect. This looks stunning. I know Azar will love it. I never thought that I would get married. I never dreamed of it but now that this day came I actually wish things were different. That my childhood was different. To have my family by my side. To have my father walk me down the aisle. It is what it is. I have a new, loving family now. I can’t wait to see Azar. (Azar’s room)

Thorne: “Will you calm down already?”

Azar: “NO!! She's anxious and it must be really strong since I can feel her. Maybe all of this was a bad idea. Maybe we should call off the wedding.”

Thorne: “What are you talking about?”

Azar: “What if she's only doing this for my sake?”

Thorne: “She's not, she loves you. Does Amaya look like someone who does something if she doesn't want to? You know how sassy and stubborn she is.”

Azar: “True. But I'm afraid this will bring back her memories of her family. Isn't that what weddings are about? To prove your love in front of those who are the closest to you and today only my family is here. (Fenrir listening and walks away)”

Thorne: “I know what you mean but she loves you and she knows everyone here loves her says today we found out that she was your mate. Plus Miranda is with her.”

Azar: “I guess you're right, I just wanna see her already.”

Thorne: “There's only one hour until the wedding.”

Azar: “I wanna see her now!! I need to make sure she's okay.”

Thorne: “Calm down.”

Azar: “Blaise is going crazy.”

Thorne: “I can see that.”

Azar: “We won’t calm down until we see her again.”

Thorne: “Jesus Christ. (Amaya’s room)”

Miranda: “Eeekkk!! We're slaying.”

Amaya: “It's my day. I slay the most. (both laugh)”

Miranda: “All ready to go?”

Amaya: “Yes.”

Miranda: “I forgot my purse. I'll be right back!!”

In Amaya’s head: And they say the bride is the one who is always late.

Amaya: “Alpha?”

Fenrir: “No need to call me alpha. I'll be your father-in-law in less than an hour. There's something I wanted to talk to you about.”

Amaya: “Yes?”

Fenrir: “It would be my honor to walk you down the aisle. If you want that, of course.”

Amaya: “I can't believe you would do that for me.”

Fenrir: “Of course I would. We really do see you as our daughter.”

Amaya: “Yes. I would love that, thank you so much.”

Fenrir: “Just please stop crying. Azar will kill me if he sees that I made you cry.”

Amaya: “May I hug you?”

Fenrir: “Of course, sweetheart.”

Amaya: “Thank you. You can't even imagine how much this means to me. I never experienced this. A father's love.”

Fenrir: “You have us, we should go. My son is dying to see you.”

Amaya: “Yes. (Miranda was watching and now crying)”

In Miranda’s head: Aww…this is so beautiful. I just really hope she didn't smudge her makeup. (wedding ceremony)

Sammy: “I now pronounce you husband and wife. you may kiss the bride.”

Azar: “My beautiful wife. (they kiss)”

Amaya: “I love you, my husband.”

Azar: “I love you more, my wife. (wedding reception)”

In Amaya’s head: My feet were shaking as I was walking down the aisle. After the moment we went out, everything was happening so quickly. I was really panicking but Fenrir held my hand in his, walking me down. He really treated me like a daughter and it made my heart swell. Then I saw Azar standing there, handsome. His eyes burning red. The suit fit him well. He smiled and never broke eye contact until I reached him. Tears were filling my eyes because he looked at me with so much love and admiration. Like always, his presence alone made me calm and secure. We were surrounded with all of those who love us. Most of them were crying. They really are my family now and after exchanging our vows, we were finally married. Our fate was sealed with that kiss.

In Azar’s head: When I saw Amaya walking down the aisle, I was in shock. I didn't expect my dad to be next to her but it made me happy that she had a father figure by her side. I knew it meant a lot to her. She was nervous. I could see her trembling as I looked straight into her eyes, never breaking eye contact. Telling her that I'm here. She looked like an absolute dream in her wedding dress. Breathtaking. I swear I was so mesmerized by her beauty that I got completely lost in time. Uncle Sammy needed to repeat to me that it was my turn to say my vows. Amaya's little chuckle pulled me out of a trance. After that, she was finally my wife. That kiss was the most divine kiss ever. It was like touching her sweet lips for the first time.

Azar: “Tell me one thing….are you happy, my little flame?”

Amaya: “I'm the happiest woman on the whole planet.”

Azar: “You know this means you're stuck with me for the rest of our days?”

Amaya: “I wouldn't want it any other way. You're my mate, my husband, the love of my life, my addiction.”

Azar: “I believe it's time for our honeymoon to start.”

Amaya: “Why such a hurry? You don't like my dress?”

Azar: “I adore it but it would look much better on the floor in my room. We're leaving.”

Amaya: “What about the others? It's our wedding.”

Azar: “They’ll understand.”

Amaya: “But-”

Azar: “Don't go all coy on me now. You wanna leave as much as I do. Plus, we need to consummate our marriage. That's it.”

Amaya: “Did you just bend me over your shoulder?”

Azar: “Exactly, I'm taking you home. (Azar’s room). You kept me waiting for too long.”

Amaya: “But I see it in your eyes that it was worth it. And I couldn't risk you destroying my wedding dress.”

In Azar’s head: In a split second, Blaise took over. He was waiting for this for too long and he couldn't contain himself. I had to make her mind and now it was his turn.

Blaise: “Time to mark you, little mate.”

Amaya: “Yes, please.”

In Amaya’s head: The moment I longed for finally happened. He marked me. When his canines bit through the delicate skin of my neck, a sharp pain shot through my body but before I could even think of it, the pain was replaced with the biggest pleasure I've ever experienced. He held me tightly and I was thankful for it because I would fall for sure because my legs were shaking like crazy.

In Azar’s head: I can't believe I let Blaise take over. It was the most impulsive thing I've ever done but after holding back for so long it was pure torture for me. I needed her to bare. My mark on her neck. I forgot all of my fears and worries. I marked her. After planting gentle kisses on the mark I made, I needed it to make sure that she was okay. I cupped her face and stared into her eyes. her body was trembling but not from agony.

In Amaya’s head: Flames danced in his eyes more than ever. I could see his worries resurfacing as he gently cupped my face. His thumb was on my lower lip, his mouth so close to mine. I knew he was making sure if I was okay and truth was…I was exhausted but better than ever. He held me so close to his body that there was no space between us. I firmly gripped his hand. Then all of a sudden I felt the temperature rising and in a split second, flames started radiating off his body. Slowly spreading. It didn't burn, it didn't hurt. Quite the opposite. I felt our souls connecting, binding to one another. Nothing prepared me for a moment like this. The feeling was out of this world. We just stood there in silence. Lost in the feeling of our bond completing. I feel his fire piercing my skin. Consuming me completely.

In Azar’s head: Our bond completing sent me into a trance. I couldn't utter a single word. I didn't expect this. I thought it couldn't be completed like this since I'm the only one who marked her. I thought she needed to mark me which was impossible but we proved so many times already that with us, and possible doesn't exist. To my complete surprise, my flames started spreading. Amaya wasn't hurt, she was glimmering. I watched as the flames started twirling around her like she was absorbing them. Our bodies and souls were now completely attached, making us irresistible forever…or so I thought. Neither of us could foretell what the destiny had prepared for us. Would we do something differently if we knew it all then?
