Chapter 20:
Azar: “Why not.”
Christine: “Are you drunk?”
Azar: “I am.”
Christine: “How much did you actually need to drink? I mean wolves as strong as you don't get easily drunk.”
Azar: “Well I had too much.”
Christine: “And you're still not giving up?”
Azar: “No.”
Christine: “Why don't you just go home?”
Azar: “I can't go home.”
Christine: “Your mate is there?”
Azar: “Yes.”
Christine: “I haven't seen you in a week. Not after what happened to her and you found me and my brother another place to stay.”
Azar: “Amaya needs to be around people that she trusts and after what happened with my own pack members I don't trust anyone either.”
Christine: “No need to get angry. We're just talking. Do you think she'll remember you?”
Azar: “I don't wanna talk about it.”
Christine: “You can talk to me. If someone understands the pain of losing a mate, I do.”
Azar: “I didn't lose her, she'll remember me.”
Christine: “I didn't say that. All I'm saying is I understand. You know that my mate died.”
Azar: “I know, I'm sorry. How did you even survive that?”
Christine: “We never got the chance to mark each other and complete the bond. He was killed the day that we met.”
Azar: “That’s something you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.”
Christine: “I had to accept the fact that I'll never have love in my life until the day I die.”
Azar: “Bring us some more drinks.”
Christine: “Are you sure about that?”
Azar: “I have nothing better to do.”
Christine: “Okay, handsome. (Amaya's dream)”
Azar: “Why would you even think that I would ever want you? Who are you? You're nothing!! Weak!! Pathetic!! Useless human!! Your family was right, you shouldn't even be born. You deserve everything that’s happened to you and worse. Why do you think you're better than your parents? Blood is thicker than water. You're a monster just like me. No, you're even worse. And you think I want you as my mate? Think again. You're useless. Always was and always will be. Look at yourself. I want someone who is my equal and that's not you. You can't run from your past. Sooner or later it’ll catch up with you. all your lies, all your secrets, everything will come out. Poor Amaya. I pity you.”
Amaya’s Brother: “Sister, why are you running? You think you can run? Your time is coming. You’ll need to fulfill your duty. Time is running out.”
In Amaya’s head: What the hell is that? Calm down, it was a dream. It was a nightmare. I always have nightmares. This…it felt too real. Is it a premonition? Azar? Kissing some other woman? She seems so familiar. Her hair. I believe I've seen her before. No! Did it all happen so fast? I'm starting to remember. It’s happening so fast, like I was watching a movie, some images started playing inside my head. All of it. Every single detail was there. The moment I first saw Azar, his fire. Him bringing me to his house. All of his words. Our first date. Our first kiss. All of our kisses. Me sleeping in his arms. Feeling secure like never before. Him leaving. Pain. Sorrow. Happiness again. His beautiful red eyes. All of my love for him. It all started rushing back. The day I saw him and Blaise with flames around them. The worry in his eyes. The love in his eyes. His vow to protect me. The second I said I love him and when he said it back. His smile, his scent. Every touch. I love him. Oh my God! How could I ever forget about him? He's my everything. I need to find him. I need to find my mate.
Amaya: “OPEN UP!!”
Miranda: “Bub, we’ll be there in a second. Hold on.”
Amaya: “I don't have time for this. Where’s Azar?”
Miranda: “What's going on?”
Amaya: “I remember everything. Now I need to find him. What bar is he in?”
Thorne: “How do you know he's in the club?”
Amaya: “I don't have time for an explanation. Just tell me the name!”
Thorne: “He's at our club. The Crimson club.”
In Amaya’s head: So my dream may be true.
Amaya: “I'm going there.”
Miranda: “Wait for us!!”
Thorne: “What’s all of this about?”
Miranda: “I have no idea. We have to follow her. Get dressed fast.”
Christine: “Wanna go to my place?”
Azar: “No, I'm going home.”
Christine: “You're wasted. Let me help you out and I can make you feel good.”
Azar: “Christine, it was nice talking to you but you know damn well that I have a mate.”
Christine: “Well she's not here, is she? Plus she doesn't even remember you. Not to mention that she's a human. But I'm here, just for a night. No one even has to know.”
Azar: “I told you long ago that I have no interest in you. What are you doing?”
Christine: “Just a kiss. I can do a lot more. Trust me. I can give you pleasure that your little human could never do.”
Azar: “Get away from me!!”
Amaya: “You've got to be fucking kidding me.”
Azar: “Amaya, I swear it's not what you think.”
Amaya: “I know what exactly is going on. Don't you have any dignity? What part of he's taken and doesn't want you don't you understand?”
Christine: “Didn't you see us kiss?”
Amaya: “I saw you trying to kiss him and he rejected you. Get your dirty filthy fucking hands off of my fucking mate you dirty little slut!”
In Azar’s head: She called me her mate.
Azar: “You need to leave, Christine.”
Christine: “Whatever. You're loss. Get out of my way!”
Amaya: “Excuse me?”
Christine: “You heard me, you filthy human.”
Azar: “Christine!!”
Amaya: “Don't make me get violent because it won’t be pretty. You've been warned. I didn't want it to come to this. I’ve wanted to do it since the first time I met you. Come close to my mate again and I’ll kill you! I’ll be more than happy to detach that purple head of yours from your body. I don't wanna see your face ever again. you better start running! You!!”
Azar: “Nothing happened. What's with your eyes?”
Amaya: “What do you mean?”
Azar: “I must be imagining things. I thought they changed for a moment. Please trust me, I didn't do anything with her.”
Amaya: “Oh yeah? Good because you're my mate!! You're mine!!”
In Amaya’s head: After claiming him as mine I ran straight into his arms. Azar lifted me up and held me so close to him. He closed his eyes and pressed his forehead against mine. I could feel everything he felt. All of his pain. It was obvious he was drunk. He was confused. I could feel the relief he felt and happiness but there was also fear. As soon as our bodies touched, sparks started flying everywhere. I felt guilty. I'm the reason for his agony. How could I forget the man who I love more than my own life? Even if it was just for a second, I'm here now and I'm not gonna let anything separate us.
In Azar’s head: When Amaya walked into the bar, I couldn't believe my eyes. What was she doing here? Then my mind went into a frenzy, afraid of what she might think. I was convinced she wouldn't believe me when I said I had nothing to do with Christine. But to some miracle she did. She claimed me as hers. She called me her mate and I've never seen her like this. So stunning. I missed her. I held her close to my body never wanting to let go. I closed my eyes and I was afraid to open them, afraid that she'll disappear if I do. Her delicate skin against mine and her sweet scent gave me proof that it was real. Her hot breath on my neck. I could finally breathe again. She's here in my arms.
Azar: “Please tell me that I'm not dreaming. Are you really here?”
Amaya: “You're not dreaming, I'm here. Azar…I'm so sorry.”
Azar: “For what?”
Amaya: “I remember everything now.”
Azar: “You do?”
Amaya: “Yes. you can call me doll again.”
Azar: “You've always been my doll.”
Amaya: “I missed you even though I couldn't remember you. A part of me was missing. Now I know. I couldn't be complete without my soulmate. My other half. Without you.”
Azar: “If this is a dream, I don't ever want to wake up.”
Amaya: “You're not dreaming. Nothing can separate us. We’re mates!”
Azar: “Together in life and death.”
Amaya: “No matter what happens. We’ll find our way back to each other.”
Azar: “Always and forever. You're my beginning and my end.”
Amaya: “I love you, big bad wolf.”
Azar: “I love you, my little mate.”
