Chapter 23 Going to Where She Is
"Mr. Morgan always threatens Miss Moss with her father and her love towards you, and Miss Moss just takes it. She probably didn't want you to worry about it." "Miss Moss is a really nice person."
"Miss Moss was pregnant not long before this and Mr. Morgan made her abort the child. She did it because she had no choice, nobody would've wanted an abortion. After all, every woman loves their child."
"That's all we got from the investigation. Master Morgan, please think about it carefully. Maybe you should really ask Miss Moss to come back to you."
Greyson was flustered and afraid.
What he believed in was all a lie.
The possibility he thought of was the truth all along.
He was never wrong about Hattie, she was a good person.
Why was he such a fool? How could he not see through the illusion and let it cloud his judgement?
Hattie was suffering all along. Her suffering had to be immeasurable.
She loved him from the bottom of her heart and was willing to throw away everything for him.
Even though she was misunderstood, and that his father kept forcing her to leave him.
Hattie had definitely put a lot of thoughts into this before making her final decision.
She mustered her courage and was going to tell him the truth, but he never gave her the chance.
Time and again Hattie mustered her courage and disregarded the consequences just to be with him. But he just brushed her off.
Never had he ever thought that his father would do something like this for the Morgan family!
He was his father's biological child!
Not even a beast would harm its own child, but his father actually poisoned him!
Did his father know from the start that Hattie would definitely save him?
His father plotted it all out so well.
And he used his son to complete his grand plan.
Greyson's lips suddenly twisted into a mirthless smile.
He was laughing, but his heart felt like it was torn into pieces.
Tears started to well up in his eyes and his sight started to blur.
Could they be his tears?
Was he crying for Hattie or because of his father?
Greyson repeatedly blinked his eyes, but his tears wouldn't stop.
He rubbed his tears away and then he called his subordinated, "Find me Hattie's and Jensen's location right now! You have 5 minutes!"
His subordinate replied in affirmative with a shaky voice and proceeded to do his job.
Though... it sounded like Master Morgan was crying.
Greyson pressed his lips together and there was a look of steely determination in his eyes.
He couldn't let Hattie leave, he wouldn't ever let Hattie leave his side again.
No matter how rocky the road was going to be in the future, he wouldn't let go of her hands anymore.
Hattie was willing to die for him, what else was there for him to think about?
Even his blood relatives would put his life in danger just for their own benefits and the sake of him marrying someone from a family of equal social status.
His and Hattie's love was pure and wholesome, they never brought anyone trouble nor got in someone's way for it.
He was a capable businessman. He didn't need to stoop so low and use marriage to get his business connections.
The Morgan family's business was growing every day in his hands.
But his father had no faith in him.
Greyson felt utterly disappointed.
Whatever. He shouldn't be thinking about his father anymore. His mind should be only filled with Hattie right now and he wanted to find her as soon as possible.
His efficient subordinate swiftly sent him a location. Greyson realized that Hattie and Jensen were going to the airport right now.
Hattie was going to leave!
This idiot was probably trying to leave him so that she wouldn't be a burden to him.
He believed that Hattie never loved Jensen.
She sacrificed her life to save him and was always thinking about his future. She obeyed his father every single whim for his sake.
And when Jensen was overseas, he was the one by Hattie's side! Not Jensen!
Hattie was such an idiot, why did she use such cheap excuses and lies to deceive him?
Though... He might be the stupider one... How could he believe in such lies?
Greyson laughed helplessly, and then he started sobbing.
He didn't cry very often. He was the successor to the Morgan family's business and his father always told him that boys shouldn't cry. No matter what happened, he should smile and brace everything, tears were only for the weak.
But as the saying went, men only weep when deeply grieved.
Today, he finally understood the meaning behind this saying.
He couldn't stop his tears no matter how hard he tried.
He was weak, that was why his father caught the opportunity to poison him and threatened Hattie with it.
Greyson gritted his teeth.
From now on, he had to become stronger than ever, so that he could protect Hattie.
He stepped on the gas and sped up to reach the airport in time. He couldn't care less that his tears were blurring his vision.
There was only one thing in his mind right now, that was to go to Hattie and make her come with him so that he could protect her for the rest of their lives.
His eyes and his mind were filled with Hattie, so much that he forgot that he was driving. He even ran a few red lights on the way.
He couldn't hear anything around him anymore, not the honking from the other cars nor the drivers cursing at him.
But he also didn't notice a car that came out from the junction at a very fast speed.
The driver blasted the horn repeatedly at him and tried to brake, but it was too late.
Suddenly, it was as if the world turned monochrome and silent.
Then there was a large sound to be heard.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
