He Wants Me Back After the Divorce by Little Mermaid

Chapter 14

Chapter 14 Didn’t Grace Satisfy You?

Celia waited for Dominic to say something, but he remained silent.

After a long pause, he abruptly said, “I want to go to lunch.”

Celia froze, “Lunch?” she responded, slightly confused.

“Did he really say that? He sounds like he’s after a girl!” She thought to herself.

The surprise in her eyes was evident, which only fueled Dominic’s smirk. He asked, “Can’t you prepare a meal for me after ruining the wedding? I have a meeting later tonight. Do you want me to go hungry?”

Celia was left speechless as she realized how much he detested working with an empty stomach. Memories flooded back of the countless times she had cooked for him during their married life.

Their nostalgic recollection was interrupted when he started the car and took his place behind the wheel. Celia looked at Dominic with confusion and asked, “I thought you were going to call the driver to pick us up?”

“The driver mentioned it would take some more time for him to arrive,” he explained.

Celia chose not to delve further into the matter, aware that he wouldn’t lie about

  1. it.

Dominic’s gaze wandered across her cheeks and eyes as he softly uttered, “Are you reminiscing about our past when we were married?”

“A bit. I’ve always sensed that you’ve changed, though not by much,” Celia replied honestly.

She realized that the man in front of her was becoming increasingly enigmatic.

A trace of self–mockery flickered in Dominic’s eyes as he remarked, “You’ve changed more than I have, haven’t you?”

Celia smiled. “That’s all in the past, Mr. Dawson. I dedicated ten years of my youth to you, so maybe you can stop nagging about it.”

Despite approaching Dominic with a hidden agenda, she was convinced she hadn’t treated him unfairly.

As his wife, her performance had always been exemplary

Dominic’s gaze grew intense, a chilly glint emerging in his eyes. Celia had

expected him to take her to a restaurant, but she didn’t anticipate him bringing her to the place they used to live.

“You can go and cook,” Dominic declared as he headed upstairs.

Celia grimaced before making her way to the kitchen to begin cooking. The surroundings remained unchanged and seemed well–maintained. The house had. no new furnishings, with everything exactly as it was six years ago.

When Celia finished cooking, Dominic remained upstairs, just as he had always been before.

Therefore, she had to go up and tell him the lunch was ready.

The door to the study was slightly open, and inside, Dominic was engaged in a fluent English conversation during a video conference. Spotting her, he gestured for her to fetch him some water.

Celia’s lips twitched as she couldn’t think of anything to say. But, she

unconsciously complied with his request, retrieving his empty glass, filling it with water, and bringing it to him.

His expression relaxed a bit as he took the cup and had a sip.

Celia thought she could leave peacefully, but suddenly, Dominic pulled her towards him. With an unexpected gasp, she found herself wrapped in his embrace.

Celia’s mouth opened wide in surprise, but Dominic swiftly covered it, motioning for her to look at the screen.

Turning her gaze, she realized he was engaged in a video call.

However, only the person on the other end had their camera on. Dominic’s camera remained off.

The person was sitting solemnly while talking about a project on the screen. Dominic seemed unfazed by the interruption and responded smoothly.

Unable to resist, Celia’s mind wandered to the memories of them when they were still married.

She was not a reserved person, and Dominic, despite his cold and unapproachable demeanor, possessed an unexpectedly passionate side.

When together, they would often engage in passionate moments,

exploring various locations throughout the house–on the balcony, the dining table, the bathroom, the floor, practically everywhere.

Dominic had a knack for seduction.

Their intimate moments felt natural and enjoyable as a couple in the past, but everything changed after the divorce.

“Let go of me!” Celia whispered, attempting to push him away.

However, Dominic paid no heed, continuing to hold onto her and even venturing into territory he shouldn’t.

Celia’s face flushed with embarrassment. After sharing a bed for so many years, she and Dominic were intimately familiar with each other’s bodies, making it nearly impossible for her to resist his advances.

Celia made a conscious effort to remain silent as she felt the heat all over her body while Dominic engaged in a serious discussion about work during their video call, almost as though he was playfully teasing her.

Visibly annoyed, Celia took hold of his fidgety hand and, with a hushed tone, warned, “Don’t push your luck, or I won’t hesitate to raise my voice.”

She was aware that any utterance from her would amuse the man on the other. side of the screen at Dominic’s expense.

Dominic glanced downwards, gently squeezed her cheek, and finally replied, “It’s alright, go ahead and shout if you want to.” Celia was taken aback and regretted. her decision to return to this house with Dominic.

It bewildered her that even after six years, he still wanted to have sex with her.

“Dominic, isn’t Grace enough for you? Why are you messing with me again? What’s so special about your ex–wife?” Celia emphasized the last phrase sharply.

Dominic’s amusement visibly subsided, a sign that he was not planning to continue doing it to her. He released Celia and instructed her in a frosty tone, “You can leave now. I will complete my work shortly.”

Celia promptly exited the study and left the villa, which was once her home. Ast she walked away, the flush on her face faded, and she muttered curses under her breath.

Shortly after, she received a phone call from Natalie.

“It was you, wasn’t it? You’re the one who sabotaged my happiness!” Natalie’s

voice was filled with manic fury over the phone.

In a dull tone, Celia responded, “Given Carl’s character, do you truly believe he would’ve made a good husband for you? You should be thanking me for the favor I’ve done you.”

“I was already aware of all that and you didn’t need to reveal it publicly for my sake! I had a plan to get rid of that woman. Who the hell asked you to interfere in my business? You obviously did it on purpose!” Natalie’s words came out through clenched teeth.

Celia wasn’t surprised by her words.

Indeed, in the upper echelons of society, incidents succeed one another in quick succession. In reality, everyone knew what was going on with one another, even though they all pretended to be stupid. Additionally, there was an unspoken norm that was

adhered to by all: Anything could be settled behind closed doors. so long as words weren’t spoken.

However, Celia was something of a wildcard. When she was around, any secrets. were destined to be exposed, adding a layer of intrigue.

Celia tightened her grip on the bag, her lips forming a smirk.

She had one more surprise in store for the Burtons.

When she finished her tasks for the day, she would go settle the score with. Dominic.

She thought he was a terrible man because he harassed her even though he was in love with another woman.

At Dean& Ken Restaurant, a woman elegantly savored her dinner, seated across from a smaller version of herself, whose eyes were curiously wandering.

“Mom, I’m full. I want to take a walk around here,” Tammy said with a pout.

“Go ahead,” Celia responded with a yawn. She knew Tammy was itching to roam about, but she wasn’t worried–her daughter couldn’t possibly get lost here.

Just then, a fleet of cars pulled up outside the restaurant. A group of men in formal attire exited, accompanying a man in the center.

“Mr. Dawson, this restaurant is one of Cester’s finest, and I’ve exclusively y reserved it for your. I hope you can feel how sincere we are,” one of the men explained.

Dominic gave the impression of being uninterested and unimpressed, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of those around him.

As they walked toward the exit, however, the group was stopped by a waiter.

With a polite smile, the waiter informed them. I’m sorry, but the restaurant is not accepting outside guests today.”

Jeff Smith stared at him in disbelief before responding. Tm a VIP member of this restaurant, and I’ve reserved the entire place for the day. Why was I not allowed in?”
