He used to hate her

Chapter 6

Days passed by, Veronica and Xander got closer. They literally forget about every other friend in the class. Veronica already
created a bad impression of me. Not only to Xander but most of the students in class. I could hear some stupid rumours
whenever I pass any group of students. Sofia told me not to listen to anyone. But how can I take it easy? They are all driving me
crazy. I'm capable of handling all these issues but now I'm doubting myself. I wish I could transfer and go to any other school and
forget all the bad memories that happened here.
" How long are you gonna stare at your phone? Our class is gonna start at any moment." I told Sofia.
" I'm just seeing messages from our class group...I bet you got it too. There's a party at Henry's house this Friday."
I unlocked my phone and saw those message. Our whole class are invited and Henry personally messaged me to come. Henry
and I texted sometimes. But I didn't think he would invite me. This isn't good. Henry is Xander's close friend. I don't want to see
Veronica and Xander. I had enough of seeing them in school. I wouldn't have felt like this if Veronica was honest with me. Now,
nothing's gonna go back to the way it was.
" I'm not coming, Sofia. I will tell Henry." I told her as I texted Henry that I have work on Friday. Some work, who cares.
"Why are you avoiding it? You can't avoid everything just because of that stupid bitch." Sofia scolded me.
" I'm not afraid of her, Sofia. I just don't want to see someone who wrecks my mood. And I'm not that type who goes to a party."
" Well, your reasons are somewhat valid. I'm not going to compel you. I will give you company. I'm not going either." She told
placing her hands on mine.
" No, you are going. I know you get bored staying in the home. You should probably go."
" But I..." she started.
" I know you, Sofia. Just stay away from that bitch, enjoy the party and call me afterwards." I told as she nodded at last.
Two days went by and I was staring at my laptop screen deciding which movie to watch next. By the time, Sofia would have
reached Henry's house. I didn't think Henry would invite me in the first place. When I said no, he kept on insisting to change my
mind. I don't know why he does that. I'm the first person Xander hates. Henry should hate me. I got more hatred than getting
loved by someone.
Suddenly, my phone rang. It's Sofia. I told her to call me after she reached home. Now, it's not even 7:00 pm.

" Hello,"
" I'm so sorry, Madison, but I need you right now. Some idiot fellow in a car, splashed water on me when I almost reached
Henry's house. I can't go like this. My dress is ruined. Can you get a taxi and bring me a dress? I swear you don't need to come
to the party."
" Of course, I'm not coming but I would defiently help you. Tell me where you are right now. I will be there." I agreed and got the
address from her.
Right now, I'm in my skinny T-shirt and jeans up to my thigh. I'm don't have time to change it. I booked a taxi and got a glittery
blue dress for Sofia. Whether she likes it or not, this is the only dress I have that seems perfect for a party.
After fifteen minutes, I found her in the middle of the road looking mad.
" Hey, get in," She felt so relieved when she saw me.
" Thank you, Maddie. I should have stayed in the home. I have such bad luck today."
" That's why I'm here. Your day's not totally ruined. Take this." I gave her my dress. She has a satisfied look after seeing the
dress. She managed to change her dress carefully in the taxi itself. Then Henry's house came into view.
" You saved me, Maddie. See you later. Thank you." she kissed my cheek in happiness and left the taxi. In excitement, she
forgot her phone.
" Hey, Don't you need this?" I went behind her, getting out of the taxi. I stood at the house entrance, giving her phone back. No
one seems to notice me until I heard a voice.
" I thought you have some work, Madison. I'm glad you changed your mind," Henry said approaching me. oh, shit. What should I
lie now?
" No, No, she's not here...she came to..." Sofia blurted but couldn't come up with an excuse.
" Actually, I have some work. I came here to drop Sofia. See, I'm not even dressed for a party. I can't come like this." I told him as
his eyes wandering over my body.
" This is not a formal party. Plus, you look amazing than other girls. Just spend atleast an hour here." he asked and added a
'please' in the end. I can't refuse now. Is this how it supposed to happen?

" Okay, just an hour," I said as his face brightened. Sofia and I entered his house and I wished not to see the faces of someone I
hate. While we both talked with some friends and refused to drink. I have never been in a party mood. I would rather vanish into
a thin air.
" Just a glass of champagne is not gonna hurt you," Henry asked me again. Here goes nothing. I just keep on doing something
that I'm refusing.
I drank a full glass while having a conversation with Henry and now one glass isn't enough for me.
" Give me another glass. This is why I refused to drink." I complained.
" Coming right up to you." He gave another glass and poured champagne.
" Hey, would you mind if I ask you something?"
" Yeah, go ahead,"
" Didn't you ever kissed a girl? When we all played truth or dare, your friends said something like you never kissed anyone. Did I
remember it rightly?"
" Um..they are right. I never kissed a girl. But I wouldn't be like this if you would have kissed me that day." He said, waiting for my
reply. I would have not asked a question like this if I'm not drunk and not standing in the middle of the party. But now I will just
ask whatever I wanna know.
" Should I be the one to kiss you? You could make a move to any other girl. Even Sofia. If only she accepts. She's not even into
celebrities." I told, looking at Sofia from a distance.
" I'm not going ask your friend but you..." Before he could finish speaking, someone pushed me as I spilt the drink all over my T-
shirt.
" Oops, didn't see you," I heard Veronica's chuckling.
