GUARDIANS OF MAGIC: THE INVISIBLE CODED BOOK

Chapter CHAPTER FIFTEEN

SIMPLEST AND HARDEST DECISION

Fina flipped thrice, escaping the spell.

She had nothing to defend herself and Tyrell didn’t stop either.

If only she was connected to her wand.

Bryce Parker was right.

She shouldn’t learn the hard way. It’s definitely painful to not be connected to your wand.

How does magic becomes one’s life?

Tyrell had said you breathe magic.

Do you fight with someone who breathe magic when you can’t even feel it’s breeze?

“Running away doesn’t solve anything. You are a threat to our world. And we get rid of every threat”

“I don’t even know you” Fina said

Tyrell had darkened all the walls. There’s no escape.

“That’s why we have to make sure you never know about us”

“Tetsiya Bilincuns!”

That hit her and Fina fell to the floor.

Every limbs in her body weakened and the pain she hadn’t felt before in her stomach hit her in waves.

That meant, she was merging with reality. She was becoming real here.

Tyrell wrapped his fingers tighter on his wand.

Fina could only watch him as he flexed his hands on his wand.

No. His dark wand.

She closed her eyes and with every will in her, summoned her wand.

She felt nothing.

She calmed her breathing.

“There are so much things you don’t know about our world. Not even Frida. If you know our Elders, you won’t try to stop us from getting the book”

“Why do you hesitate? Kill me” Fina said

“I’m just wondering, would it be smart to kill you? I can just take you to them”

She felt something but it was weak. A connection.

The feeling began to come in waves and soon she felt warm.

Her wand appeared in her hand and without waiting she said the spell that first came to her mind.

“AYUNUP ESTERIDUS MANIFSA!”

All the glass exploded and separated them.

Fina didn’t know if it made everything worse because now she had to deal with three enemies.

Jessica was limping badly. Coco still had the red eye mask on.

Tyrell was trying to get up. He had been closer to the glass.

His wand was knocked out but closer to him.

None of them had the book.

Fina pointed her wand to Tyrell’s own and ordered it to come to her with a mind spell.

Tyrell grabbed it before it could reach her.

Fina avoided Coco at all cost but Coco didn’t leave her alone.

She moved closer to Fina, the red eye bulging from her head.

Fina closed her eyes which turned out to be a disadvantage because Jessica used that opportunity to attack.

Adrenaline coursed through her and she pricked her hand on the spine attached to her body.

Fina wrapped her hand on Coco’s eye and she screamed. The red eye bulged so bad.

It shrunk completely and Coco was blinded.

Tyrell and Jessica attacked her with spells which she swatted away with her wand.

White light radiated from the wand she was holding and she wrapped her hand tighter to it.

Her wand waved away every spell they sent her way.

Two against one.

Zo hands were getting more shaky when they couldn’t find Fina. They have been searching for hours now and still no sign Fina.

Mr Walker turned to Zo.

“Give me something of hers” He said “She’s not in the physical part”

“I don’t know…. but does this strikes any familiarity?”

They turned to see Bryce Parker taking a small hair band on the floor.

Zo took the band from him.

“Yes, it does. It belongs to Fina. She must have been here before”

Mr Walker took the band from Zo and brought out his book wand.

Students gave them curious looks as they passed.

“No one is allowed to pass anymore. Dismissed” Mr Walker said

It was on the tip of Shelly Jefferson’s tongue to tell Walker he wasn’t in his class but she kept quiet.

Fina was important.

Mr Walker whispered some spells on the band and it rose into the air and began to burn.

The band started to move straight and they followed.

They entered through walls and walls. A spell done by David.

They entered through twenty one walls before the band finally stopped at a dark room.

None of them talked but the danger of the situation began to seep in.

Mr Walker lit up the whole room and it brightened.

Zo’s gasp made them all turn to her.

She flew towards something but it was too late to stop her when they realized the body lying lifeless on the floor at a distance.

“Alvarez. Stop!” Mr Walker shouted.

It was too late.

As she tried to touch Fina’s body, something blew her away with full force.

She closed her eyes, preparing for the hit but it didn’t come.

Her feet gently touched the ground and she realized Walker had saved her.

“I want you to stay behind me. There’s dark magic in this room” Mr Walker said

“Dark magic.” Bryce Parker asked “Wait. Dark students? I thought they do not exist anymore” He said, looking at Walker.

Mr Walker didn’t answer.

He moved slowly towards Fina’s body and saw the red light emitting from her.

“They are back” Mr Walker said

Shelly began to move forward but Ozias dragged her back, holding her wrists tighter.

“It’s dangerous” Ozias said

Shelly glared at him.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m just worried about my friend whom your girlfriend is trying to kill”

Xavier had Zo in his arms.

Only Bryce and Kit were closer to Mr Walker.

“You think this is easy for me? For us? We were betrayed! Do you know the kind of relationship we all had? We were like a family!” Ozias shouted

“Well forgive me for not understanding the kind of relationship you had with a dark student because that is definitely none of my God damn business when my friend is either dead or alive!” Shelly screamed at him.

Everyone ignored them.

Bryce, David and Kit observed Fina’s body carefully without touching her.

“How do you remove a dark spell?” Kit asked

The red light emitting from her grew stronger and stronger.

Since Fina’s body was side viewed to them, they couldn’t see the blood clearly.

Mr Walker wrote some words on the ground with his wand and it vanished.

“What’s that?” Bryce asked

“Diversa sentimincus. It’s a dark spell. You use dark spells against dark spells. That’s how it works”

The red light vanished at once.

Mr Walker touched Fina’s hand and felt her pulse while they waited with bated breath.

“Her body is completely cold. It’s like she’s freezing inside.” He said

“Isn’t that blood?” Bryce asked as he touched Fina’s shirt on the other side.

Blood was on his hand when he withdrew it from her body.

Zo’s body shook in Xavier arms.

Fina hair was splayed about and her eyes were closed. She wasn’t breathing.

At all.

Mr Walker carried her body from the floor and tried not to let the coldness affects him.

“What should we do?” Xavier asked, his hands on his wand.

“She’s not here. I’ve seen this kind of dark spell before. She’s trapped inside. Whatever happens there reflects on her. If she die over there, she dies here. She will be more closer to death when she starts feeling real at the other side” Mr Walker said

Panick marred their faces.

“There must be something we can do. Anything we cannot do” Bryce Parker said

What they’d all forgotten coming back to them in waves as they start to remember.

Xiana’s death. The way Xiana had died in his arms.. The memory of Xiana completely forgotten.

Everything they’d missed.

The dead students.

He’d been helpless watching Xiana die. He wasn’t going to let Fina Clark die.

“We opened the way for her to come back” Mr Walker said “Before it’s too late to come back.

Fina was completely limp in his hands, her chest not moving.

“In dreams does it all lay” Shelly said “Does it strike anything?”

“In dreams does it all lay? Yes. A dream of reality. A dream where you are dead to the world. She’s in a dark dream. I’ll meet you all in my place” Mr Walker said and teleported away.

“I’ll kill him” Xavier said in anger “If she dies, I’ll kill him!”

“To think we have been with dark students and not knowing, doesn’t it make us stupid?” Kit asked

“Yes” Shelly replied with a smirk.

“Shelly” Ozias warned

“Yes, Oz? Any stupid excuses?” Shelly asked

They glared at each other. Hard.

“Dark students” Bryce Parker said, repeatedly “How? If dark students are back, then, they might have found a way to enter Amenix without the Guardians knowledge. The fact that not even the Queen had any idea who they were meant they might have come through an invisible link. It means they are in Amenix. Amongst us within our knowledge”

The horror of what he was saying starts to seep into their head.

“They have pierced through Amenix” Xavier said

“Who?” Zo asked

“We don’t know much about them but they are another world like us. And if they are already in Amenix…” Bryce said and drifted off.

“We aren’t safe anymore” Kit finished.

“Yes” Bryce said, staring at the blood in his hands. “We are not”

******

Tyrell and Jessica didn’t relent, hitting her with spells.

Their spells clashed together. Red light met white.

Two forces against one.

Fina moved her wand forward, the white light becoming stronger against theirs.

She didn’t backed down.

She hadn’t felt more alive than this moment. The strength she was sharing with her wand surging through her.

Fina did something she had never done before, she curved her wand and the red light being casted her way also curved and hit Jessica Young.

Jessica’s eyes widened in horror as she hit the nearest glass wall and her body melted to the ground like wax. Her eyes and brain was the last to melt.

Coco, blinded stepped on the wax and fell with a thud.

That infuriated Tyrell and he hit Fina with dark spells so fast she wasn’t able to dodge them all.

Fina’s left hand became limp as if broken and she dropped her wand.

Tyrell didn’t hesitate, he casted a dark spell which she dodged easily.

As she kept twisting, fighting for her life, the effect of the poison became stronger and she felt nauseous.

Tyrell didn’t stop but Fina outsmarted him when she escaped into the palest glass.

She had been calculating and moving closer to the glass.

His darkened walls had broken when the glass exploded.

Tyrell moved from walls to another, chasing Fina and cursing her with dark spells.

Fina walked slowly into another glass whenever she sensed his presence.

Blood poured out of her mouth but she didn’t stop moving.

She wasn’t going to let Tyrell get the book no matter what.

They entered through walls, each on its own task.

Tyrell broke down the walls with his wand.

Fina entered through another wall and stopped when she saw the book.

She ran to it but was too late. Tyrell yanked at her hair hard and pushed her to the wall.

Fina held out her hand before she could reach the wall and fell down instead.

“You want this?” Tyrell said as he picked the book from the floor. “None of you can read this. None of you can understand it” Tyrell said angrily.

His face had completely changed. He looked more evil right now than ever.

Fina watched as he unlocked the coded book and threw his head back in defeaning laughter.

“My mission is complete.” He said and began to read from the book.

Fina’s body became hot all over and she screamed.

“I’m going alone.” Tyrell said “Will you come with me? I guess they will take a liking to you. They only take strong ones”

The same way it had happened with the demons, her body cooled over. But Tyrell didn’t burn.

He looked shocked and confused.

He read another spell from the book.

A stronger spell.

Dark light forced out of the book even Tyrell was perplexed.

He stumbled forward.

The book flew out of his hand as the light descended upon them.

Fina rushed towards the opened book, not caring what the light meant.

It took Tyrell a while to realize the book was in her hand.

He didn’t do anything.

He laughed.

Hard. Doubling over in amusement.

Fina didn’t let that bother her either. She didn’t know what she was doing or what was happening but kept on anyway.

She began to read spells from the book while Tyrell continued to laugh.

Tears were in his eyes now.

He didn’t stop. At all.

He stopped when the dark light gathered together and lunged at him.

“No. No. No!!!!”

Fina read on.

Not understanding a single word. She wasn’t herself anymore. It felt like someone else was reading the book. It felt like someone else was casting dark spells.

And that person understands. Because that person opened another page as if she had been reading the book all her life.

That person read through the other page. Completely.

The world around them tilted.

Demons appeared, surrounding Tyrell.

He raised his wand to cast a spell but they snatched it from him.

The red eye.

Fina stopped reading the book and watched on.

That person watched on.

The demons began to chant. They chanted and chanted, their red eye glaring with heat.

Tyrell cried in pain.

“The Masters sent me. I am one of you. I am one of you! I am one of you! I am one of you!” Tyrell cried repeatedly.

“We listen to the Master and the Master has read from the book. The Master has ordered your death”

Tyrell looked at Fina. Horror in his eyes.

“Who are you?” He asked with so much emotion Fina shivered.

The fact that she wasn’t supposed to understand the book must have made him perplexed.

The demons didn’t stop chanting.

Fina closed her ears as Tyrell screamed in pain.

Just like Carly Brooklyn.

He screamed and screamed, his cries echoing through the walls.

It was defeaning.

Then, he began to melt.

The demons pulled on his limbs one by one but Tyrell pale eyes never left Fina’s.

As if her existence was a puzzle.

Fina closed her eyes when the demons removed his eyes and threw them away. She didn’t open them when they removed his head like it didn’t weighed anything.

She didn’t open her eyes when the demons turned to her.

“What the Masters wants, the Masters gets. And the Master order have been fulfilled”

Then, they vanished.

Blood surged out of her mouth.

Every part of her hurts and she lay on the ground in pain.

Her eyes became heavy. The blood didn’t stop. She kept vomiting it until she felt all drained.

Tyrell’s bones and flesh littered everywhere.

She stared at nothing wondering what sort of poison was coursing through her body right that moment.

The book was beside her, closed and forgotten as her eyes drifted shut.

Everything became silent.

Something covered her eyes. A feather?

She was back in the forest. The image of a half dead girl lying on the ground as the rain beats her eyes came into focus.

Everything changed and she found herself covered in blood.

Like a battlefield. Like war.

She saw Jay and he shouted her name.

Fina shouted in response but before she could run over to him, someone slit his throat and he went down.

She froze, watched as everyone around her began to die. Everyone around her began to fall.

Blood spilled on her face.

“Fina!”

“Ros! Roslyn!” Fina shouted, searching frantically for her sister.

“Fina!” Roslyn screamed.

Someone was dragging her away.

A dark demon.

She ran fast towards it but everything changed again.

It was dark; she couldn’t see anything except the feeling that her hands and feet were tied.

The sound of water drops as it hits the floor. The rapid heartbeat. The darkness as it overwhelmed every part of her.

She knew she was in a different world. Again.

And the horrifying truth was that….it always seems so real.

Then, as it always happened, she heard screaming somewhere and froze.

The footsteps. It’s coming closer. She could hear the voices again.

More screaming.

It’s closer. They are closer.

She tried to stand but couldn’t. Every drop of water means a second and another until she heard the door opens and….

Everything changed again.

“Don’t open the door!” She heard someone scream. “Don’t open the door! Don’t open the door!”

“Don’t let it wake. Don’t open it! Don’t wake the other one!” The voice cried in anguish. “Don’t wake the other one! Don’t wake the other one!”

Fina opened her eyes to see the Ascergill.

“What’s it going to be?” He asked.

“If… I die?”

“The other evil will wake. Your dream will come true.” The Ascergill said in a sweet tone.

“Choose wisely. You are worthy.”

“What does that mean?”

“To leave peacefully. But your’s different. You are worthy to choose. To choose between life and death. To beat death”

“Who’s the other one?” Fina asked breathlessly.

“Someone whose name must never be spoken of. Someone who must never be brought back to this world again. Someone who well destroy everything in it’s path”

“And if I die?”

“You will have to defeat death so many times until one of you defeat each other completely”

Blood surged out of her mouth again.

“What’s it going to be?” The Ascergill asked

She looked up to see the Reaper already in front of her. His recording book in hand. His dark quill ready for record.

“You’ll keep seeing him or he stops seeing you. He wont run his scythe over you. You’ll be buried”

“Death is better for you.” The reaper said

“I choose to -
