Goddess's Prophecy: From Rogue to Luna

Chapter 17

MICAIAH

When I woke up, my head was pounding, I could not feel my wolf, I figured the wolfsbane was still in my system. I smelt the vile mixture of vomit, blood, and clay dirt. I heard whimpers of others near me. When I opened my eyes, it was completely black, without my wolf I could not see anything.

I could hear others whispering as well about the new person they brought in, then I also heard the guards speaking vile things about the women prisoners. It was disgusting, making my stomach turn at their words.

They truly were awful creatures. I would have to wait until either sunup or someone to turn the lights on to be able to get a grasp of the area I am in. there were a few small areas where the moon light was shining through, but I could only see a few silhouettes. There was no way I was going to sleep I needed to figure a way out of here, but I knew it was not going to be easy.

As the sun began to rise it began to get brighter where I was being held underground through a few holes that were letting the light shine through.

What I seen made my heart break, there were several others being held captive, some adults, some children. They were covered in dirt and cuts, bruises, and scars.

As I took in the sight around me, I heard an evil chuckle. The man began to close the distance in between us. It was the man with scar over his eye. “Hello, Micaiah. I have been waiting years to have this moment. The moment I finally find a way to break my nephew permanently.” I stared into his eyes as he spoke of my mate. “You are nothing but a spineless coward.” I shouted then spit in his face. He growled in my direction and then turned and walked away,

As I sat in this hell hole I stared at the others, sad for them, seeing the marks on their bodies showing the pain they have endured in their time here. I heard a groan from the cell to my left, I tried to see who it was, but it was still dark in that cell, and I could only see the silhouette of a man. I could not help but ask “are you okay?” Silence is what I was met with then finally, “So, I take it you are my little sister.” I was shocked by the remark.

“Malcolm is that you?” “Well, if not it looks like we have more unknown siblings.” “Malcolm I am so sorry; I did not know.” “I know you did not, I mean you weren’t even born at the time.” “Lacey, she loves and misses you.” He took a deep breath at her name. “You know my Lacey?” “Yes, she is my protector, she has always been trying to find a way to save you.”

There was a brief silence, “there is no saving me, there is no winning against them.” I did not realize how far gone he was, depressed and has given up. “Malcolm, you do not mean that.” “Yet I say it because I do. I have tried everything. There is no way out, there is no way to win.”

Now I know her frustration with me. “You know what fine, give up, be a coward. Your mate has spent every waking moment trying to find a way, find help, to get you out of here. What do you do, sit, and sulk about how it is the end? Not me I have fought my entire life and I do not plan on giving up just yet. There are people coming to save us whether you want it or not.” I turned away after speaking my mind I mean he was being so stubborn and hard-headed.

I was so lost in thought I did not hear the man come in. “The prophecy says you are to defeat me, yet you are a scoundrel in a hole of dirt.” The Alpha to these barbarians was standing at my cell. He was not worth my words. “It is time to break you as I did your big brother.” I looked at him with curiosity when my cell was then unlocked. Two men grabbed me dragging me to the center of the room. They strapped my arms to two posts about three feet apart.

I did not know what was happening, but I do know one thing. “Now scream, Micaiah.” He the struck me with a leather whip. The crack against my back stung like a thousand needles and burned as if it were on fire. Another crack, but I bit my lip to not scream. “You will never break me; I will not give you the pleasure to scream.” He laughed, “You are much stronger than your brother over there, but I promise sweetie you will beg for mercy sooner or later.” Another crack, and another. I bit my lip so hard I was beginning to draw blood.

After what seemed like an eternity he finally stopped. The pain was so bad I felt nauseous and dizzy. As they threw me back in my cell. I could feel the warmth of my own blood trinkling down my back. “You are going to be a tough one to break but you will eventually. They all do.” He then left. I laid there trying to relax from the pain. “I told you, there is no way to win.” I heard Malcolm whisper, “and I told you we will win.” With my last thoughts on Maverick and my family, hoping they find us soon, I fainted from the intensity of the pain.

My eyes feel like they are glued shut I can not get them to open. I lay there thinking about my mate, my life and how I treated them poorly and how my long-lost brother is giving up as well. How the secrets of the past seem to have led to this, I do not understand how they could keep these secrets from us all. Suddenly I felt a wave of power over me. It was strong and pulling at me, I felt as I was being dragged into the unknown.

I was finally able to open my eyes and I was no longer in a cell, but I was on a small island of land surrounded by clear blue water. The wind was blowing causing the salty water smell to fill my nostrils. I saw a figure approaching me from the water, as the figure grew closer, I noticed their face and felt my heart stop at who was here right now approaching me.

“Mom is that really you?” she smiled as she closed in the distance. “Hello, my sweet girl, how you have grown.” Her voice was so sweet and full of emotion. “I know you have so many questions and are full of resentment due to your father and myself, and the choices we have made.” I felt the worry in her tone as she hugged me. “Yes, mother I do. Why? Why did you let them take Malcolm? Why did you hide it? Why did you leave us?”

I felt all the emotion I was holding in just pour out at that very moment. “Oh, my sweet child, there is so much I wish I could tell you, but fate will not allow me to detour you from your destiny. We did what we did out of love, we knew if we had fought him over Malcolm, he would kill Malcolm and EJ. He would have killed us as well and there would never of been you. We are not proud of this, but there are things about us that we never told anyone. We did everything out of love and protecting our children was the most important.” Her eyes were filled with tears and her voice shaky, but I knew from her pain she was telling the truth.

I held her for as long as I could it has been so long since I smelled her rose scent and felt the motherly warmth of her touch. “Darling, I must go now.” I felt her pull out of our embrace. “I know it is hard, I know the pain you are feeling but you can do this, just know wherever you go wherever you are I will always be right here.” She pointed at my heart and kissed my cheek. She turned as I was silent, mind racing and headed back to the water where in the distance she began to disappear.

I fell to my knees crying, feeling all the pain heavy on my heart when I felt another presence near me. When I looked up I seen a woman and the power flowing off her was strongest I have ever felt. She was stunning, she was tall, curvy yet slender. Her dark blue dress flowed around her light skinned body. She had long snow-white hair, flowing down to her hips in loose wavy curls. Her eyes were a shining bright blue. On the top of her head was a small crown with an upside-down crescent moon with a small full moon in the center.

“Hello my child.” Her words validated my thoughts of who she was. “Goddess Selene.” She smiled at my statement. “I am glad the introduction part is not needed. We have much to discuss it is time for you to know who you are.” My brows knitted in confusion, I had no clue what she meant by her statement, and I was at a loss of words as it was.

“This is going to be confusing but let me explain. Many eons ago I to have a mate fate destined me with. I to thought fate was cruel for he was the God of the sun. we could never be together not for eternity. We had a few hours through out the days where both the sun and the moon could both exist at the same time in the same place, then during an eclipse day we could be together. It was cruel but as time went I on I looked forward to those days I got to spend with him. We both had our enemies that looked to hurt us by hurting the other, but we still prevailed. Then after a night of an eclipse where we spent all day together fated us to something far greater. I found out I was pregnant and with the enemies both of us had we knew neither of us could raise this child due to the harm that could reach the baby. We knew what we had to do.” She clutched her chest feeling the pain of losing a child but continued with her story that had me well intrigued.

“I watched over my creations and knew of a family who had been through the pain of losing a child to an enemy. I to brought them here to speak to them of my situation. They understood and agreed that when my child was born, they would raise my child as their own and keep this a secret for the child’s life depended on it.” She paused in the story watching me very closely as if I knew where this was going. “I see there is more needed to the story. When my daughter was born on the night of an eclipse, my mate and I met the chosen parents thar night and said out final goodbyes. Before we left, we talked to the parents and asked to be able to name the child and bestow two gifts from each of us. They agreed and first her father, the sun God bestowed his daughter with some of his powers to help her throughout her life and kissed her forehead. I bestowed some of my powers to her as well. I also bestowed her with a protector wolf, not like others. At the end we named the wolf Akiva, and our only daughter Micaiah.”

When she was finished it sunk in fast and clear. My mind was more confused than before and so was Akiva we were lost. “You are my daughter Micaiah, by blood but that does not change that they raised you and are your parents. I know this is a lot to take in, but I must go for now this information should also provide you answers for your situation now and clear things up but fight Micaiah, do not break remember who you are.”

With that she to disappeared into the water and I was jolted back into my reality where I jumped out of my coma, I was in from events previous. How could anyone think clearly after the information given. I laid their awake yet still in much pain, but I had so much on my mind my body was numb. I needed to think to figure this out and I needed to do it quick.
