Chapter 46
Chapter 46
It was Emilia’s phone.
Frederic’s quick answer to the phone proved that he considered it very important. Regardless of the time or place, he would always pick up the phone immediately.
My so–called wife was right beside him. However, he still didn’t care.
“What’s wrong? Don’t cry,” Frederic’s voice was the gentlest I had ever heard. “Wait for me there, I’ll be right over.”
As soon as Frederic hung up the phone, he pulled over and rushed me, “You can take a taxi back by yourself or I can arrange for someone to pick you up. Just wait by the roadside for a while.”
“What’s wrong?” I asked curiously.
“I had some things to take care of,” Frederic replied impatiently.
“Where are you going? Take me with you, I’m just bored.” I deliberately refused to get off the car
I thought Frederic would refuse, but to my surprise, he turned his head and looked at me with a hint of a cruel smile in his eyes. “Do you really want to go with me?”
Maybe something happened to Emilia and she needed his help. If I went with him, I would only see him comforting and helping another woman. In that case, I would definitely feel jealous.
Frederic used to enjoy making me feel uncomfortable, so that I would regret marrying him.
I simply answered, “Yes.”
Frederic didn’t say another word. He stepped on the accelerator and the car raced down the road,
Finally, he parked the car outside a shopping mall. After I got off, I took a glance, and Frederic had already walked inside. I followed behind him and arrived at the sixth floor. This floor was filled with
various food stores.
There was a bustling seafood restaurant, as if something had happened. I didn’t go in, I stood quietly watching from a distance.
Five minutes later, Frederic and Emilia walked out together. Emilia seemed to have cried, her eyes were red.
Frederic raised his hand and gently touched her hair, just like stroking an adorable little cat. He also slightly bent down and attentively listened to Emilia speaking.
Anyway, he used to always be rumored with various women, so now he doesn’t even bother to avoid it in public.
I had a moment of numbness. After forcibly ignoring my inner emotions, I took out my phone and took a photo, then turned and left. As I was getting off the elevator, I heard someone discussing what had happened in the seafood restaurant just now.
The general story is that Emilia went to the seafood restaurant and found that the ingredients there were problematic. There were insect eggs in the restaurant’s salmon. She approached the restaurant owner to give feedback, but they got into an argument and she was locked in the kitchen and not allowed to leave!
Emilia is so young that she lets someone like Frederic handle such trivial matters. What annoys me is that Frederic is actually willing to take care of these petty things.
After leaving the mall, I took a taxi back. On the way, I sent the photo I just took to Tristan.
I didn’t receive his reply until I got home. He only replied with a question mark.
I didn’t know why I had to send him the photo. Did I expect him to sympathize with me?
At that time, Janessa called me. She said, “Syl, do you have any free time tomorrow?”
“I will be free tomorrow. What’s up?” I asked.
“Come with me to try on wedding dresses. Leonel and I have tentatively planned to get engaged next weekend, and we will plan our wedding for the end of the year,” Janessa said cheerfully, and I could hear her happiness.
“Okay. Give me an address, and I’ll be there at eight tomorrow morning, alright?” I replied.
“Great!” Janessa hung up the phone quickly and sent me the address of a bridal shop.
I rubbed my temples and walked wearily into the living room to rest. Kira and another maid were cleaning. When they saw me come back, they both greeted me.
