Chapter 112
Ruben looked at me with a complex expression in his eyes, and finally nodded, “Thank you, Sylvia.”
I believe Emilia’s departure also made him understand something. If there is a shortcut in life, why bother taking the long way around?
“Sylvia, I’m leaving first,” Ruben said as he sat for a moment, lifting Gigi in his arms to bid me farewell. “Goodbye.”
“Alright, I’ll walk you there,” I stood up as well.
Ruben shook his head repeatedly, “It’s okay, I’ll go out and hail a taxi. It’s too cold outside, and the roads are slippery. It’s not safe to drive. It’s better for you to stay at home.”
I didn’t persist. After watching Ruben leave, I hugged and kissed Pudding over and over again, then took it upstairs. Because I wanted to practice the cello.
Pudding was much more sensible than Frederic. It was well- behaved and didn’t complain about me being too noisy.
The snow outside was getting heavier and heavier. After practicing a few songs, I took Pudding to the windowsill to watch the snow. As the evening approached, the
streetlights in the estate had already lit up, shining on the snowy ground, making it look very desolate.

Suddenly, a servant appeared downstairs and hurriedly went to open the large iron gate. Frederic’s car appeared outside the gate. Frederic got out of the car and slammed the car door in annoyance, then walked quickly towards his
house.
I widened my eyes, and suddenly, Frederic’s words echoed in my mind, “You fucking wait for me.”
Will Frederic really run all the way back to settle accounts with me? I feel a little anxious. In the past, I desperately wanted him to come home and argue with me, so that I could tally up my efforts and try to awaken his guilt, in the hope that he would stay by my side.
But now I was really not good at arguing with him.
“Where is Sylvia?” I had just come out of the music room when I heard Frederic’s voice coming from below. I peeked my head out from the corridor and saw Frederic looking up
at me.
So I quickly went downstairs and ran towards the master bedroom on the second floor, while Frederic also quickly went upstairs, trying to block me.
He took big strides and quickly approached. Just as I was about to open the door, he had already grabbed my hand.
“How did you come back?” I had no choice but to ask, pretending to be calm.
“Did I ruin your date?” It was obvious that Frederic was in a bad mood. His normally cold eyes now held anger.

I didn’t want the servants to hear what we were arguing about, so I lowered my voice and said, “Let’s talk in the
room.”
Frederic pushed open the door and pulled me inside.
After stabilizing myself, I sat down by the bed and twisted my hand, which he had pulled painfully. I looked up at him.
He walked back and forth in front of me and finally stopped to ask, “Sylvia, what do you really want to do?”
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you this question?” I started getting angry too. “What do you want? Ruben and I have nothing going on, we’re just friends. And you are clearly pursuing Emilia, don’t you think it should be you answering this question instead?”
“Since the first day you met me, you already knew that I didn’t lack women. Did you not consider this when you married me?” Frederic looked at me gloomily.
“So I was destined to become a simp, huh?” I chuckled angrily, standing up and locking eyes with Frederic. “I’ve also said it before, I don’t want to be your simp anymore. You pursue Emilia, I make new friends, any problem with that?”
