Chapter 108
Chapter 108
“Can you guess?” I gave up those thoughts and answered mysteriously.
Alberto smiled and adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose, “I don’t guess, but I hope you are single so that I have a chance.”
I didn’t believe that he wanted to pursue me, and I thought that he was similar to other men, who would start discussing explicit topics once they felt familiar.
I finished the remaining wine in one gulp and then got up. “I have to go, Mr. Dixon. Goodbye.”
Upon seeing this, Alberto immediately stood up and anxiously said, “Can I leave you my contact information? I will make sure you see that I am serious!”
It was useless. I took Frederic seriously, but in the end, I was betrayed.
However, I still left my phone number for Alberto. I thought, since Frederic can take Emilia out to play, why can’t I find a man to pass the time with?
After leaving contact information, I went to find Greta. We both had a great time, so we all went home.
Outside the bar, Marcel was waiting for me in the cold wind.
Every time I drank alcohol, I needed to call him to pick me up. He would respectfully open the car door and help me get in. I would grab his hand and say very seriously, “Marcel, don’t worry, I will give you a raise next year!”
No matter what the situation was, Marcel always followed my orders without complaint.
Marcel froze for a moment, then released my hand, closed the car door, and quickly started the car, driving me back to Maple Villa.
When I came home, I passed by that snowman. I silently stared at it for a few seconds, and then I plucked out its
eyes.
“You and Frederic were both blind,” I muttered.
I am not worse than Emilia at all, except that I am not as young as her.
As soon as I entered the house, I heard Pudding meowing, which instantly lifted my mood. I found Pudding playing with a ball of yarn in its cat bed, and I picked it up and sniffed it. After a while, I took a selfie with it and shared it
on Instagram.
Afterward, I went to take a shower and only saw Ruben’s message before going to bed.
There was also a photo of an orange cat, chubby and very
cute.
Sylvia: “Ruben, do you also like cats?”
I replied, “It’s alright. A friend left his cat at my house for a while. I found it quite adorable. Is that orange cat yours?”
Ruben: “I found it at school and no one wanted it, so I
decided to take care of it myself. It was well–behaved, just a little overweight from eating too much.”
After he finished speaking, he sent me a short video of an orange cat. The orange cat in the video was very fat. It tried to jump onto a chair but ended up falling down because it was too fat. The scene was awkward but cute, and it made me burst into laughter.
We talked for a long time, both focusing on the topic of cats. Ruben must have seen my post and thought that I really liked cats, so he came to chat with me.
Ruben was being deliberate, and I could see it clearly because I used to do the same thing when I deliberately sought out Frederic to chat and discuss topics that I thought would interest him.
Finally, Ruben transferred the remaining money he owed me all at once and said, “Thank you, Sylvia. Next time, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
I replied, “Okay, how about tomorrow? I need to take Pudding for a bath and deworming. You can bring your orange cat as well.”
