Chapter 1
Chapter 1
It was a street in Aroma City, crowded with people and vehicles.
I had been sitting in the corner of Encounter Café for two hours, facing the counter. A young girl in a sky–blue apron was busy making all kinds of drinks.
The girl was about 1.6 meters tall and weighed no more than 45 kilograms. She was fair–skinned, thin, and optimistic. Her thick and black hair was swept back in a high ponytail, and her smiling eyes looked adorable.
The girl came to me and asked me with a bright smile, “Miss, do you need a refill?”
It was so embarrassing that I kept looking at her. Luckily, I was a woman and wouldn’t be thought of as a pervert.
“Yes. I’d like more black coffee,” I answered lightly and politely with a smile.
Soon, the girl served me another cup of bitter black coffee. But she didn’t leave after that. Instead, after a while of hesitation, the girl officiously said. “Miss, this is your third cup. Black coffee may help you stay sober, but too much of it will be harmful to your health. Why don’t you come again some other day?”
The girl was kind and outgoing. Her voice was as silvery as a wind bell.
I looked at the black coffee on the table and then stood up with my purse. “Okay. How much should I pay?”
The girl was glad that she successfully persuaded me. She quickly added up the bill and told me, “Miss, it’s 15 dollars in total. Will that be cash or charge?”
I paid the bill silently and then left the coffee shop quickly.
“Mrs. Hudson.” Seeing me come out, Marcel Foster nodded respectfully and opened the car door for me.
“Let’s go home,” I ordered with a smile.
The car started stably. I sat in the back, having a break with my eyes closed. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the young and pretty face of the girl in the coffee shop.
Was that her? Was she the girl for whom Frederic Hudson would break with his family, pay a heavy price, and divorce me in one year?
I was surprised that the first thing I did after my rebirth was to find out where the girl worked and watch her like a peeping maniac.
I was just too curious. I wanted to know what kind of girl took away the man I had loved for ten years.
In my previous life, I hadn’t even met that girl. I only knew her name and saw some pictures. Frederic protected the girl so well as if she was some rare treasure. The enemy didn’t even show up, and I lost badly.
The girl was young, pretty, pure, kind, and optimistic. She was everything beautiful.
Her only weakness was her family background. Frederic was too noble for her.
Marcel suddenly said, “Mrs. Hudson, today is your wedding anniversary with Mr. Hudson.”

I opened my eyes slowly and was absent–minded for a moment.
It was our fifth anniversary. Every year on our anniversary, I spent the whole day preparing candlelit dinners and gifts.
This year, I was 27 years old, and Frederic was 29.
“I know.” I was a little uncomfortable and massaged my temples. “I remember that.”
Marcel reminded me, probably because he noticed my difference this
year.
Why was I always the one who gave more? Why must I love Frederic? In my last life, I thought about the two questions. For Frederic, I ended up with a broken family and life.
When I was lost in my mind, the car stopped at the door. Frederic’s parents and mine gave us this luxurious villa as a gift when we got married. It cost a lot, covering an area of more than one thousand square meters.
Surprisingly, Frederic’s car was also at the door. He came back.
I felt complicated. I was going to meet the man who killed me in my previous life. What face should I put on?
I thought I would hate Frederic. We had been a couple for five years, and my parents had been nice to him. But for a woman, Frederic ruined us. He destroyed my family.
But when I actually met him again, I found myself quite calm. In fact, I -found myself peaceful.
In my last life, Frederic wanted an amicable divorce. He promised to give me some shares of the Hudson Group as compensation. With that money, I could live an easy life. But I wouldn’t take it. I spent ten years
with Frederic, and Frederic still didn’t love me. But he fell in love with another woman in one year and would abandon everything for her.
I tried everything to get Frederic back. It only made things worse. Frederic and I finally became mortal enemies.
Now, nothing had happened yet. I’d rather change the unnecessarily bitter end than hate Frederic.
“Why are you standing there?” Frederic sat in the living room and crossed his long legs casually. He grounded the dead cigarette into the ashtray as usual and then took an indifferent look at me.
On our wedding day, Frederic frankly told me that he only saw me as a cooperator and a permanent roommate. He said he didn’t like me at all.
“I didn’t expect you to be at home.” I bent down to change into slippers. They were Hermès, elephant gray. The slippers were simple in design and color. They were comfortable, but that was all.
It reminded me of the girl in a blue apron in the coffee shop. There was a red flower with a smiling face on her apron. Only her apron had it.
I was different from that girl. All my clothes were expensive but dull. They were always simple and boring.
I suddenly hated those slippers. I threw them away and walked into the living room barefoot.
Seeing that, Frederic frowned and looked a little surprised. “Why aren’t you wearing slippers?”
“I just don’t want to wear them.” I sat down across from Frederic and gave a plain answer.
“That’s rare. What happened?” Frederic giggled and asked me in a light
tone.
I thought, “I went to see your Mrs. Right.”
I looked down at my fair–skinned feet. They were too thin and looked a little fleshless.
Emilia Farrington wasn’t like me. She was thin, but her skin was firm and elastic. Unlike her, I was scrawny.
Five years of stifling marriage life did a lot of harm to my body. I was even anorectic. Therefore, I became rawboned and unhealthy.
“Frederic.”
“Yes?” Frederic was looking at his phone and didn’t even look up.
He wore a black shirt and fine suit pants. Frederic was tall and had a good figure. He was a handsome man. And of course, his charming face and delicate features made him more attractive.
I looked away from my feet and stared at Frederic. Face to face, I said in a husky voice, “I want a divorce.”
The moment I finished talking, Frederic sneered.
He put his phone on the sofa casually and looked at me with a cold look as usual, asking, “Sylvia, what trick are you playing this time?”
