Jasmine And Her Bullies – Chapter 37
Third-person narrative
Everyone in the room had their mouths open as Jasmine stepped into the room, with Noah following behind her. She looked around the room and was surprised to see her parents there.
Her mother ran over to her and hugged her tightly, tears leaving her eyes.
“Where have you been? Do you have any idea how long everyone has been looking for you? You had us so worried.” Her mom cried as she kissed her hair.
“I’m sorry, Mom,” she trailed off as she hugged her mom back.
Her father walked up to them, pulled them both into his arms, and hugged them. When they were done, they pulled away and let Jasmine breathe.
She looked past her parents to her friends and Mia, who were standing beside their parents.
Ethan, Calix, and Zane were boiling with rage on the inside. They were so mad at the fact that Jasmine had walked in with Noah, and the possible thought that she had been with him all this while intensified their anger.
“Jasmine, where have you been?” Gina asked. “From the way I see you, it doesn’t seem like you were kidnapped, so what happened?” asked Gina with a voice laced with concern.
“She was with me,” Noah said, paused, and continued. “After she found out about her friends cheating on her, she wanted to get away from everything, so I suggested she stay with me for a while, and she agreed. So, she’s been with me ever since. We just came here because we heard that one of your dads was in the hospital,” he explained with a smile on his face like he had said something that was common knowledge.
“Why would you do something like that?” Jasmine’s mom asked her, and her eyebrows furrowed. “Why would you just disappear without letting anyone know where you were going or what you were doing? Do you know that it was in the process of looking for you that Denver got into this accident?” scolded her mother.
Behind them, Mia and her brothers had been quiet. Mia was so angry that she didn’t feel like she could be quiet anymore, not when she could feel her brother’s heartbreak and her father in so much pain.
“So what do you think you are doing, and of what importance is this your so-called visit?” Mia said, her voice low, but you could hear how angry she was. “What gives you the right to come here after disappearing from us for so long and endangering every one of my family?” she asked Jasmine.
Jasmine tried to say something, but Mia stopped her.
“You put my whole family in danger! My father is badly injured here! We could have all died, just because we were searching for you!” Her voice cracked as she spoke.
Mia had been bottling up all of her feelings and trying her best to be strong for her family, but seeing Jasmine walk in with Noah like nothing was wrong did it for her.
“You ran away and hid like a little kid because you couldn’t be mature enough to stay and settle things like a normal person would! You couldn’t even call, not even once. I expected that you would at least tell me where you were, so we wouldn’t be worried, but it seemed you have found a better friend,” she said with tears falling out of her eyes.
Mia broke down, as she couldn’t speak anymore. Her knees became weak, and she stumbled, but Zane caught her.
“I know that the situation was enough to make you angry, but not for you to disappear for so long and put everyone else in danger. I didn’t want to say this before, but seeing you here just confirmed my suspicions,” said Calix with his eyes down the entire time.
Just like his brothers, he was so mad at Jasmine for disappearing on them and coming back with Noah, the guy they hated so much.
Ethan chuckled half-heartedly as he spoke. You had us all fooled, but guess what? We were able to find out that the explosives used in the warehouse where the accident happened were explosives handled by a rogue pack. Your pack is the only rogue pack affiliated with ours. You’re the only one we can think of that could do something like this,” Ethan said to Jasmine while coldly staring at her.
“What the hell are you insinuating, Ethan?” Jasmine’s father, Samuel, asked
“You know exactly what I’m talking about. We were sent a picture of Jasmine tied up in a warehouse, meaning she was kidnapped. We went there, but she wasn’t there; instead, the place was rigged with explosives, and now the very person that we’ve been wasting our time and energy on is standing right here, claiming that she wasn’t kidnapped. How exactly does that sound to you?” demanded Ethan.
“I don’t know why you’re saying this, Ethan, but whatever it is you’re thinking is wrong. We would never do something like that. I told you, I wasn’t kidnapped. I was with Noah this whole time,” Jasmine tried to explain, but her words fell on deaf ears.
Then, who the f**k sent this picture?” Ethan barked at her while showing her the picture that was sent to Mia’s phone.
Jasmine was surprised to see the picture as she stared unbelievably at it.
Even Gina and her mates had gone quiet, as the possibility of that being the case was very high. They don’t think that they have ever done anything wrong to Jasmine’s parents, so what exactly could have caused this problem?
“Just leave. We don’t want to see you; we even don’t want you anymore as our mate. It’s like we always said, rogues will always be rogues no matter how nice you are to them,” Calix said, and his words pierced Jasmine’s heart.
It had been a while since she heard them say that, and hearing it again after everything they had been through was heartbreaking.
“I don’t know what put this idea in your head, but I don’t know anything about what happened. I do admit, it was wrong of me to just leave without telling anyone, but my parents and I are innocent of these accusations, but we’ll leave,” Jasmine said and turned to her parents.
They looked back at Gina and her friends, who were still quiet, listening to everything.
Gina finally spoke. “Wait, Jasmine, don’t go. Kids, I think you all are being irrational. You’re probably just worked up about the whole issue; that’s why you’re acting like this. I don’t think Jasmine and her parents are capable of doing something like that. I admit, the whole situation was suspicious and requires thorough investigation, so can we all just calm down and settle this?” Gina said to her pups.
But they were having none of it; they had never felt so much hurt in their life. They could have lost one of their dads because they were searching for a mate who preferred to be in another boy’s arms.
“We’re settling nothing, mom. These people need to leave, and they need to do it now.” Zane’s voice boomed in the room.
Jasmine was caught by surprise. She had never heard him shout so loud before.
“Mom, Dad, let’s leave. I don’t think we’re welcome here.” Jasmine took her mother by the hand and led her towards the door, pushing her out along with her father.
She looked back at her mates and her best friend for the last time before stepping out and closing the door behind her.
“See what I’ve always been telling you. These people aren’t good for you. See how they treat you, just because you’re a rogue and you’re supposed to be their mate,” Noah scoffed.
“We both belong together. I understand you better than any one of them can. Rogues like us should stick together,” Noah said.
With that, he slung an arm over Jasmine’s shoulder and led her away from the room, walking behind her parents.
Noah looked back at the door, as a devilish smirk hung on his lips.
