Gina, And Her Triplet Alphas

Jasmine And Her Bullies – Chapter 25

Mia

I observed as Jasmine’s eyes scanned the pictures in her hand, stealing glances at me every few minutes.

I had placed all the pictures given to me by my private investigator in front of her. I wanted her to see for herself that Noah wasn’t the man she thought he was, that he had been taking advantage of her innocence since they met. I wanted her to realize that she was just a pawn in Noah’s game.

“I have been trying to tell you this, Jasmine, but you never listened,” I said to her. “Noah isn’t who you think he is; he is a very dangerous man!” I emphasized, but she said nothing in response.

I remained silent, watching her as she fixed her gaze on the pictures in her hands. I wanted her to speak, I longed to understand what was going on in her mind, to hear her say something. But she remained silent, just staring at the pictures.

My patience was running out. I knew that the more she thought about it, the more excuses she would conjure up to cover for Noah’s infidelity and cheating behavior.

“Jasmine, you should just let him go. He isn’t the one for you,” I added, but Jasmine still stayed mute, not responding.

I shook my head, wondering what might be going on in her mind. Slowly, I stood up and walked to the kitchen, where I grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator, and poured myself a cup. I gulped it down while wondering about Jasmine’s thoughts. Her silence was starting to worry me, and I wished she would say something.

I took another cup and returned to her side. “I think you might need water,” I murmured.

She nodded at me.

“Thank you.”

Those were the first words she had spoken since I handed her the pictures.

She filled the cup with water, downing it quickly before placing it down and staring at me, a smile on her face.

“What do you have to say about this, Jasmine?” I asked.

She picked up the pictures again, smiling. “These women are from Noah’s past, and he has been sincere and straightforward enough to tell me about every one of them,” she responded.

That was too funny to believe. I couldn’t believe what she was saying. I knew Noah had told her all that so that when his secrets were revealed, Jasmine would believe that the women were from his past. He was quite clever, having his plans all mapped out.

I chuckled. “They are his present, Jasmine. This man has done nothing but deceive you,” I moved closer to her. “These women in these pictures are the ones he is cheating on you with. Don’t trust him!”

She shook her head. “That is not true,” she argued. “Noah never lies to me, and he has told me about all these women from his past. He’s not lying to me.”

What had Noah done to my friend?

What had he done to Jasmine to make her support him this way? I wondered how much Noah had brainwashed her, how much her love for him had blinded her to the truth. I wished she could forget her feelings for him just for a moment and see the reality about him – a reality right in front of her.

“Why won’t you believe, Jasmine? Even when you have the evidence right in front of you? Look at the pictures; do they resemble old photos of him? These are recent pictures, Jasmine. Why can’t you just see the truth for yourself?”

She jumped up from her chair. “I have told you that these pictures are from his past, Mia. Why do you keep pestering me to check them again?” She shouted. “These are women he was with in the past. Why can’t you just believe that?”

I wanted to keep my thoughts to myself and walk away, but I had to say something. I just couldn’t sit and watch Noah emotionally manipulate my friend. This wasn’t the Jasmine I knew!

“Jasmine, this is not an argument. I just want you to see for yourself, to see the truth.” I stated, picking up one of the pictures. “Look at this. This is a recent picture, not some old photo from the past. This is Noah’s truth, yet you’re refusing to see it!”

She laughed sarcastically. “Do you know why Noah told me about these women from his past beforehand?” She moved closer to me and pointed at me. “It’s because of people like you! People who won’t mind their business and try to ruin others’ relationships!”

“What!” I exclaimed.

How could she say that to me? All I was doing was helping her; I just wanted to save her from Noah’s evil plan.

I didn’t want her to become a victim of his sinister schemes.

How could Jasmine say that to me? I had no gain in destroying her relationship. I felt bitter.

“Why? Is it that hard to accept the truth about you? The truth about what you’re doing right now?” She laughed. “You and your brothers can’t bear to see Noah and me together, so this is your little plan to separate us,” she shook her head, moving closer to me. “I’m sorry to disappoint you and to put all your effort to waste, but neither you, your brothers, nor anyone can separate Noah and me!”

“How could you say this to me, Jasmine?” I asked, my heart thumping in my chest with pain.

I only wanted to save her, not to destroy her relationship with Noah like she claimed. I stood to gain nothing from doing that.

“I’m only trying to save you from a looming danger. I have done nothing wrong.”

“Yes, you have done something wrong!” She yelled. “Your love for your brothers is blinding you from seeing the fact that I am happy with someone else, I am so disappointed in you,” she grunted.

“You are doing all this to separate me from my Noah because you want me to be with your brothers. I do not want to be in a loveless bond with your brothers, so leave Noah and me alone!” she screamed in my face.

“J..Jasmine,” I stuttered. Her words were like daggers, digging into my skin and causing me pain. “Why..why would you say this to me?”

“Because that is what you deserve for trying to break up my relationship!” She clasped her hands together. “I hope you stop stalking Noah and focus on better things to do, like finding your mate!”

I couldn’t wait to hear more words from her. I rushed out of the house, heading towards my favorite spot, with tears rolling down my eyes. I tried to avoid people so they wouldn’t see the condition I was in, but some still noticed.

I got there and sat down, my heart pounding in my chest with pain and anger.

I felt as though I had done something wrong by trying to save my friend from a looming danger. Different thoughts and questions raced through my mind, but I was unable to find an answer to any of them.

My thoughts swayed around, and I remembered how I was being followed after getting the pictures and information from my private investigator until I was fortunate enough to escape.

There was no doubt that the one who was following me was Noah, or he sent someone to do that. Maybe I was going too far; maybe I should have allowed things to go their course.

Maybe I shouldn’t have interfered in Jasmine’s relationship because, in doing so, I was destroying my friendship with her and also putting my own life in danger.

One thing I could hope for was that it wouldn’t be too late until Jasmine realized the type of person Noah was. I hoped she could come to realize soon that Noah wasn’t someone she should trust or even try to be with.

That was all I could hope and wish for. I had nothing to do about it anymore. I didn’t want to get involved in their relationship anymore.

I valued my life and my friendship with Jasmine. If it means letting things go their course to save my friendship with her, then I might consider doing that.

I stayed out until late in the evening before heading back to the apartment, with the thoughts of what I would say to Jasmine racing through my mind.

I finally got to the door and held out a loud sigh before pushing the door open.

I was welcomed by the mouthwatering smell of a delicious meal. I stood still at first, wondering what was happening until Jasmine appeared with an apron around her.

She rushed to me and held my hand.

“I made your favorite for dinner,” she stated, excitement written all over her face, and pulled me towards the dining area.

She had already set the table for us, and we took our seats.

“I took my time to make sure it would suit your taste,” she chuckled. “Dig in,” she added and immediately buried her head in her meal.

I was confused and surprised too. I was coming in with the thoughts of how I would apologize to her for meddling with her relationship, and I was met with this odd situation. I was expecting her to still be angry at me, but she didn’t seem like she was.

She looked up, and our eyes met. I wanted to dig into my food to avoid eye contact with her until she spoke.

“I am sorry for how I reacted and the words I spoke earlier, Mia,” she began. “I know I have hurt you with my words. I am so sorry for that, and I take every one of them back. I shouldn’t have spoken that way.”

I shook my head. “I should be the one apologizing to you, Jasmine. I shouldn’t have done anything or interfered in your relationship with Noah. I am sorry for doing that.”

“You were just being protective over me. I should have understood that. I am sorry for my words.” She murmured and stood up, walking over to me. “Forgive me, please.”

I stood up. “You should forgive me too.”

Jasmine smiled and pulled me into her arms. “Thank you, Mia.”

I wrapped my hands around her, a big smile on my face, and an unwavering hope that she would figure things out on her own, and also do that when it’s not too late.
