Chapter 85
Third-person narration.
“Mistress, please, alpha Denver is following us.” The terrified driver said to Gina with a shivering voice.
He would rather not get in trouble for something that was not any of his business.
“Just keep driving,” said Gina, staring out the window, not wanting to hear anything about it.
They had crossed their pack borders and were heading toward human territory.
Denver, on the other hand, was boiling in rage as he was eager to see who Gina was going to meet with.
His brothers, who were in a car a bit far off, were chasing after them too, trying to call him, so they could calm him down and talk to him, but he didn’t pick up their calls. He was too angry.
After about ten minutes of car chasing and trailing, Gina eventually got tired and asked the driver to stop and angrily came down from the car.
Denver did the same as he slammed his car door shut.
“What do you want? Why the hell are you chasing me?” Gina blurted angrily at him.
“Who the f**k are you going to meet with?” He questioned as his eyes darkened with fury.
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business, I told you I will come back home when I was done with what I wanted to do,” she answered.
“Just show me that bastard and watch me tear him apart,” Denver growled.
“And how are you going to do that because he is stronger, fiercer, and guess what, he is capable of claiming me as his mate? And I will gladly submit myself to him to do as he pleases.” She sneered.
At this point, Gina was doing everything she could to rile Denver up because she was also angry.
“Nothing like that is ever going to happen,” Denver said in his alpha voice before Gina could see it coming.
Denver’s fangs had started growing out, and he was dangerously breathing heavily down on her neck.
Despite his wolf hurting badly due to the wolf bane in his system, he was determined to mark her.
“You are mine, he said and at that same moment,” he plunged his fangs deep into her neck.
Pain ransacked Gina’s body as she shut her eyes in an attempt to calm herself down and not scream. The fact that she hadn’t prepared herself didn’t help her at all.
Derrick and Devon arrived just in time to see what was happening as they hurriedly got down from their car.
After some seconds, Denver slowly pulled out his fangs to softly clean the spot, before showering k****s on it.
He tiredly staggered back, resting his back on a nearby tree. His entire body felt like it was on fire, and he felt himself almost slipping into unconsciousness.
But he fought within himself to keep himself awake, and that further weakened him.
His brothers rushed over to where Gina was to see if the mark had stayed, but just like the other times, the mark was starting to fade away and within seconds it was gone.
“What the hell is going on with me?!!” Gina cried, unable to keep up with her brave act any longer.
Even though she had truly been heartbroken when Derrick and Devon’s mark did not stay on her, she had been hopeful that, at least, Denver would. So, having Denver’s mark fade off her skin within seconds like it was never meant to be there, was a dealbreaker for her.
Tears began flowing freely from her eyes as she wondered what would happen to her now. Her knees became weak as she fell to the floor, her right hand clutching her chest.
Devon rushed to Denver’s side to try to support him, while Derrick stayed with Gina. They all knew what was happening to him, and Gina blamed herself for being the cause.
“What are we going to do?” Derrick subconsciously asked, not necessarily directing his question to anyone.
They all fell into a deep silence as Denver was seated on the floor with Devin by his side, while Derrick remained beside Gina.
Denver sighed as his head fell forward, clearly tired and frustrated. His thoughts went to the prophecy, thinking about how stupid it was and the pain it had caused them all.
As that happened, his thoughts went to a particular phrase in the prophecy.
“Mated to three, marked by one,” Denver mumbled to himself.
“What did you say?” Devon questioned him as he moved closer to hear what he was saying.
“Mated to three, marked by one!!” Denver said again, but with the realization, this time.
What Denver said seemed to have struck Devon, and he gasped. Gina and Derrick, who were in front of them, turned back to stare at them, confused.
“Wait, I think we have been doing this wrong the whole time.” Denver scoffed.
“We all have to mark her together as one,” Derrick said, taking the words out of Denver’s mouth.
“What?” Devon said, even more, confused by what Derrick had said.
“We all have to mark her at the same time,” Derrick explained as he looked at Denver, with a smile on his face from the happiness of the discovery.
“Think about it. The prophecy never said she had to choose one of us. We’re brothers, remember, and of the same b***d. In other words, we are one.” Denver explained to a still-confused Devon. It all began to make more sense as he explained.
Denver struggled to get off the floor, as the sudden realization was making him excited, he was supported by Devon who noticed the excitement in him.
Thanks to Derrick, Gina got off the floor and moved closer to where Devon and Denver.
We do this together as one, stated Denver and his brothers nodded in agreement. The idea seems to be accepted by everyone. They were all willing to try, at least for the last time.
“Are you sure about this?” Gina asked, her voice shaky.
She was scared. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to handle another painful disappointment.
“I’m not…” Denver started as he moved closer to her, dusting his clothes and his hands. “…but there’s no harm in trying,” he said, locking his gaze with hers.
Despite saying that, he knew how much harm it could potentially cause if their plan didn’t work, but he didn’t have time to think about that. He was too focused on finding a solution.
“And if it doesn’t work?” She asked but received no answer.
Despite all his excitement when he was explaining his thoughts beforehand, Denver paled as he watched Gina ask the question. He could tell that she was emotionally drained and didn’t need any more drama.
He prayed to the moon goddess in his heart that their plan worked, or something bad could happen to Gina.
“We just have to try,” he said to her.
They all waited for Gina to give her consent before taking different positions around her.
Denver stood behind her, aiming for her neck, Devon stood on her right side, aiming for her right shoulder, and Devon on her left, aiming for her left shoulder.
“This is going to hurt… a lot,” Derrick said out of courtesy to Gina.
“I know, so shut up and bite me,” she said, taking in a deep breath to prepare herself for the pain that was to come.
Her triplet mates threw their hands around her to support her, creating a shield that she can rely on when the pain became too unbearable.
Gina placed her right hand on Devon’s arm and her left arm on Derrick’s.
While Denver plunged his fangs into her neck, Derrick and Devon bit her on each side of her shoulders respectively.
If Gina was able to hold back her scream before, she wasn’t able to anymore, as the pain had tripled. Her grip on Devon’s and Derrick’s arms was getting tight and painful, but they didn’t pull away from her, as they could understand the kind of pain she was going through.
Slowly, the pain she felt faded away, and it was soon quickly replaced with a sense of blissfulness, and she stopped screaming.
“Our triplet mates,” she heard a little voice say inside her head.
Gina smiled happily upon hearing the voice. She needed no one to tell that it that was her wolf that finally spoke to her.
When her mates were done marking her, they licked clean the spot before placing feathering k****s on their spots.
Gina noticed however that it took a while for Denver to pull out his fangs, and his grip on her seemed to grow stronger.
When they were all done, slowly, the pain she felt faded away, and it was soon quickly replaced with a sense of blissfulness, and she stopped screaming.
When they were all done and decided to step away from her, they discovered that Denver was no longer in pain. And the scars around his body were magically fading off.
They all exchanged glances, as if not certain of what was to happen.
“It worked,” she said with a smile so broad that it seemed new to them.
“It did?” They all chorused.
“Yes, it d-” she stopped as her words were cut short by a gasp, caused by an intense pain that shot right through her chest.
“Gina, are you alright?” Devon questioned as he made to move over to where she was, but he was stopped by Denver.
A loud growl left Gina’s lips as she screamed out in pain, instantly falling to the ground as her legs could barely carry her body. She squirmed in pain as the inside of her body felt like it was on fire.
She g*****d as she could feel her bones breaking and moving from their place as she subconsciously shut her eyes as a way of suppressing the pain.
“She is shifting,” Derrick said as he saw Gina’s hands gradually turning to paws.
“You are shifting Gina, don’t struggle with it, just let it flow through your body,” Denver, who was now feeling perfectly alright, said in a cheerful tone.
But Gina did not answer as she kept writhing on the floor, but after some time, the pain subsided, and she could feel fur take over her skin.
She decided to take his advice, as she took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly, giving in completely to the change that was taking place in her body.
When the transformation was finally done, Gina was breathing heavily as she tried to pick herself from the ground, but her whole body felt sore.
The three brothers stood in awe as she slowly got to her feet. They were mesmerized and shocked by what they were seeing.
“Gina, you are the mystic wolf that we have been looking for this entire time,” Devon said out loud as soon as he noticed Gina’s white fur and the beautiful golden stripes that adorned it.
“Hello mate,” Denver said to Gina through the mind link, and she instinctively opened her eyes to look at her mates, her heartwarming up with happiness.
“You are so beautiful,” Devon said to her, and she just couldn’t resist the urge to walk towards them and mark her territory.
Gina moved closer and sniffed in her mates’ scents. Her sense of smell seemed much stronger than before, and even her hearing and her vision.
She rubbed her head on Devon’s stomach as he patted her head and scratched behind her ear.
All the brothers came together and hugged the wolf between them.
“I really can’t believe this is happening,” Devon said, finding everything that had just happened unreal.
If he wasn’t there to see it himself, he would have easily thought it was a lie or that he was dreaming.
They all pulled away from the hug as Gina transformed back.
“I think we should all head home,” Denver suggested, and they all agreed.
“I can already imagine the shock on all of their faces when we tell them what happened.” Derrick joked and they all laughed.
They walked back together towards the cars, heading home a lot happier than they left.
Even though the day started depressing, Gina wouldn’t have had it any other way if this would be the outcome every time.
