Gilded captive heart

Chapter 7

As Nova sat up, her eyes locked onto the alien brothers in the room. A deep sigh escaped her lips, a mixture of resignation and contemplation. The walls of her new reality closed in around her, a reality where she had been inexplicably kidnapped by beings not of this world.

Her gaze shifted from them to the ceiling above, a canvas that seemed to mirror the vast expanse of uncertainty that stretched before her. In the midst of this surreal situation, a surprising thought found its way into her mind—an idea that she had once entertained, just in case a situation like this were to arise. It was almost eerie, the way her musings about the unthinkable had materialized into something concrete.

*This is unexpected, me being kidnapped by aliens nonetheless,* she mused inwardly, a wry smile gracing her lips. The irony of her own preparedness wasn't lost on her, and in some strange way, it provided a sliver of comfort amid the chaos.

As the alien brothers stood there, watching her, Nova experienced a complex cocktail of emotions. There was fear, yes, and a sense of vulnerability that came with being in the presence of beings whose motives remained shrouded in mystery. But there was also an unquenchable curiosity—a desire to understand, to bridge the gap between their world and hers.

Amid the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, Nova's resilience emerged. She wasn't just an observer anymore, staring at distant stars from the safety of Earth. She was a participant in an extraordinary journey, one that she had never sought but now had to navigate.

And as she met the gaze of the alien who introduced himself as Eryndor, a flicker of determination ignited within her. "Mate? Me?" she repeated incredulously, her voice wavering between disbelief and a hint of defiance. "You kidnapped me? Brought me light years away from my home so I can be your mate? I don't even know you guys. I don't even know what species you guys are from."

Her eyes held a mixture of challenge and curiosity, her mind grappling with the enormity of the situation. It was in that moment that a thought crystallized—a condition that she could set to make sense of this chaos, a way to regain a semblance of control.

With a determined resolve, Nova spoke up, her voice steady. "If... if I'm going to consider being a part of this... arrangement, I have one condition. Take it slow. Show me around your world before thrusting me into it head on. I need to understand what I'm getting into."

She locked her gaze onto Eryndor's, her request clear and unwavering. It was a small plea for understanding, a way to navigate the uncharted waters that lay ahead, and perhaps, just perhaps, find a way to bridge the gap between their worlds and forge a connection that defied all odds.
