Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 6

Adella Arcos - POV

I stayed in the restaurant for more than an hour, and when I was about to leave, I got a message saying that the school was closed for the day. Now would do I do?

“We can go for a run. You haven't let me out for a long time.” Rachel suggested, and I looked out to see that it was a pleasant day today, so I agreed to her idea and took my things and walked back to my home, after keeping all my things in my house, I walked into the forest and quickly removed my clothes and closed my eyes and allowed the shift to take place.

When I opened my eyes again, I felt like I was seeing the world with an entirely new pair of eyes. I shook my brown fur and began my run into the forest. I ran till my legs started to ache, and Rachel screamed at me that she was done. I walked back home and looked around my surroundings before I quickly changed back, and wore my undergarments, and when I was about to wear my dress, I heard a crunch, which made me look around the forest in alarm.

“W…who is there?” I called out.

Crunch!

“Let's go back home, Adella.” Rachel urged, so I quickly picked up my clothes, and I only took one step forward when a large grey wolf leaped out of the forest and came to a stop just a few meters away from me. I felt my throat dry up, and my body started to tremble. His eyes were starting directly into my soul.

“Pl…please let me leave, Beta Lanzo.” I stammered, but the wolf only had a cunning smile on its face. I stepped back till my back hit the tree, and the wolf quickly shifted back to its human form, Beta Lonzo was standing in front of me stark naked.

“I won't bite, Adella. Why are you scared?” he inched closer towards me till he trapped me between the tree and pressed himself against me. I closed my eyes while my breathing became heavy.

“Please, don't do anything,” I begged, knowing exactly why he was here to see me. I felt his face closer to mine, till his face was buried deep within my neck, and this made me drop my dress to the floor. I tried to push him away from me, but he was just too powerful.

“You smell so good, Baby. I can devour you right here,” he mumbled while tears started flowing down my cheek.

“Adella!” someone was calling my name, and this made my eyes widen while Beta Lonzo had an irritated look on his face. He quickly pulled away from me.

“I will see you soon, darling,” he said before he ran into the forest, while I slipped and sat in the ground. I pulled my legs closer to my chest and just rested my head on it while silent tears kept flowing down my cheeks.

“Adella, where are you?” the voice was getting closer to me when I finally recognized who it was. I quickly wiped my face clean, stood up, and put on my frock, just in time for Summer to come into my focus.

“What are you doing in here?” she asked me with a frown on her face, and I put on my best smile for her and walked towards her.

“I went out for a run and just came back. Anyway, why are you here?” I asked her, and from the suspicious look on her face, I knew that she didn't believe a word I just said.

“Is there a problem, Adella?” she asked me, while she placed both her hands on my shoulder, and the words just got stuck in my throat. I am sorry I am lying to you, Summer. Beta Lonzo would kill you if he found out that I told you what was going on.

“Nonsense, there is nothing. Wouldn't I tell you if there was something?” I asked her, and she nodded her head. “So, what brought you here?”

“Well, I hope you remember that I have to give out the unit tests to the students tomorrow, and I asked you to prepare a paper for me?” she asked me, and I nodded my head.

“Yes, I have completed that. Come to my house, it's in there.” I told her. Summer stayed with me till dinner when she finally left, saying that it was full moon today and it was not ideal for her to roam alone at night.

After washing all the dishes, I arranged my work table made my way to my room, quickly changed into my pajamas, and got into bed. “Can we go and see our mate?” Rachel asked me.

“It's a full moon today. I am not leaving this house. We will go and see him tomorrow.” I told her, climbed into my bed, and closed my eyes.

Thud!

The sound of something breaking woke me up, and I looked at the time, which read eleven. Did someone break into my house? I got down from my bed took the baseball bat that I kept next to my bed, and left my room.

I first turned on all the lights made my way to the kitchen, and made sure everything was locked and there was nothing out of place. Next, I walked to the living room. The closer I got there, I felt my heartbeat increase, my gut instinct was telling me that something felt odd.

I switched on the lights and looked around when I saw that the window was open and one of the glass that was on my writing table was knocked down. I walked towards the window and shut it close.

My body was trembling in fear, which didn't even allow me to bend down to pick up the broken pieces. I don't think this fell on its own. “Adella?” a shiver ran down my spine when I heard that familiar voice behind me.
