Chapter 1
Jose Gomez - POV
“It's been two years since I expressed my innermost feelings towards you, and ever since that day, I have been one of the happiest men alive today.” I felt a small crowd starting to gather around us while the muttering slowly began, but my only focus was on my cupcake. “I love you more than words can express, and now I would like to make you mine forever.” she had a confused look on her face while I fished the small jeweler box out of my pocket and opened it in front of her. It was a diamond ring that I bought for this very occasion. “Will you marry me, Elena Lopez?”
She was shocked, but I saw a small smile appear on her face. “I…I can't believe it.” she stammered while her eyes watered with blissful tears.
“Just say yes. That is all I need to hear.” I encouraged her while she looked around us. Everyone was telling her to just go with the flow, while my heart was beating against my chest. Elena’s eyes finally landed on me again, and this time, it had a spark to it, that I had not seen before.
“Yes, yes, I will marry you, Jose Gomez,” she told me with glee, and I immediately got up from the floor, carried her in my arms, and spun her around a few times.
“…what a beautiful couple…”
“…May they lead a blissful life…” all sorts of comments started to flow among the crowd, but my entire focus was on my mate, whose cheeks were as red as apples.
“This is wrong. You cannot do this to us, Jose.” while a lot of positive comments were flowing around me, there was still this one nagging voice in my head whose voice was full of hatred and disapproval, at this point, I didn't care what my wolf thinks because this is my damn life and I will live it the way I want to.
“Jose,” I looked up at my angel’s face, and she leaned closer to me and captured my lips in a brief sensual kiss. “You can put me down now and put that damn ring in its rightful place,” she mumbled, I nodded my head, and gently placed her on the ground. I gently took the ring out of its box and extended my hand, and Elena placed her slender hand on mine while I gently slid the ring into her ring finger.
“Do you like it?” I asked her nervously, and she looked down at the ring with a content look on her face.
“I love it.”
“Good, so shall we head back to your pack?” I asked her with a suggestive look on my face, and for a couple of minutes, she looked clueless. “Don't you want to celebrate this moment?” I asked her, and that was when she understood what I was trying to tell her. She punched me on my shoulder and shook her head.
“How can you ask that in public?” she asked me with those big dovey eyes of hers, and I wrapped my hand around her shoulder and pulled her firmly towards my side.
“It's not a crime,” I told her with a smirk on my face, and we walked out of that small cafe and into the dark streets. The people who were there in the cafe to witness my proposal congratulated us, we made our way to my car, and soon we were off from that place.
“Do you think Alpha Alonso would accept our relationship?” Elena asked me after a while, and this made my body stiff. I wrapped my left hand around her right and squeezed it in reassurance.
“He can warn me, threaten me, but he can not decide for me. I am the person who has to make my life choices, Elena.” I told her, and I saw her nodding her head before she became quiet again. The rest of the ride, none of us talked, both of us were deep in our own thoughts, when I turned into Elena’s pack, her face lit up again, and she looked out of the window like she was seeing her pack for the first time.
“Why do you look so excited?” I asked her.
“It's been a few years since I lost him. And when I thought that I would never find love again.” she turned around to glance at me. “Here I am with the man I love and soon to get married to,” she whispered.
“I told you I would never let a tear come out from those pretty eyes of yours,” I told her, reminding her of the promise I made on our anniversary last year.
“You did,” she mumbled when we reached her small one-bedroom house. I parked my car just behind hers, and I quickly got down from the car and went around and opened her door, carried her in my arms bridal style, and made my way to the door.
“Where are the keys?” I asked her, starting to get impatient. She took the keys out of her purse, and I slightly bent down, she used it and opened the door, and I opened the door before I closed it behind us.
“Aren't you in a hurry today?” she asked me while she wrapped her slender arms around my neck, and this only made a smile appear on my face.
“You are my fiancee now, so it's a special day for me,” I told her while I made my way to her room and dropped her on the bed.
“Do you need a…”
“No, you said you got your birth control shot yesterday, right?” I asked her, and she nodded her head. I quickly removed my t-shirt and my denim and threw them on the floor while I got on the bed and pulled her in for a kiss. My hands slowly moved towards her zipper and slowly removed it, and I quickly got her out of her dress, threw it on the floor, and pulled back to admire her beauty.
