Galactic: The Superhuman Robot

Chapter 9: Galactic Works for the FBI

Galactic: “I’ve packed a small bag and will fly to southwestern Alaska where the FBI and local police will be waiting for me.”

Galactic goes downstairs and lifts off at 10:00AM and arrives in Alaska in thirty minutes. She meets the officers in front of their tents at the edge of a forest. She thinks, “It will be difficult for police to find the fugitive, but it will be easy for me.”

FBI Agent: “Welcome Galactic. Come into our makeshift office. We’ll begin the briefing.”

Galactic: “Thank you. I look forward to working with you and finding the fugitives.”

Two FBI agents and ten local police are included in the briefing.

FBI Agent: “Okay, now that Galactic’s here, we’ll begin the briefing. Four fugitives escaped from prison last week. We know they’ve reached this location, but we don’t know how far they’ve traveled since then. There are cabins in these woods where they could find food and shelter. We believe they’re traveling north to Nome, then to the Bering Strait, and on to Russia.

Helicopters and ground troops haven’t been able to locate them. They’re sociopaths and very dangerous. That’s why we’ve enlisted Galactic to help with the search. They can’t harm her. Also. she can run at an amazing speed and hopefully will find them before they cross over to Russia. Galactic, do you want to make a statement?”

Galactic: “Yes, first I want to thank you for including me in this search. I can handle it alone. It will take me an hour or so to search for them. If I find them, I’ll fly them back. Of course, I’ll keep you updated by phone. I’ll also be sending you photos every ten minutes, so you know what areas have been covered.”

FBI Agent: “That’s a good plan. I suggest you start as soon as possible while it’s light out.”

Galactic: “I’ll start right now, but darkness won’t interfere with my work. My eyes are designed to see well at night.” Okay, I’ll be contacting you in fifteen minutes.”

Galactic walks into the woods. When out of sight she runs at an amazingly fast pace, not as fast as she usually does because she doesn’t want to miss the fugitives. She runs past Nome, back down to the briefing point, then runs up again on a different path. She does this several times.

On the fourth attempt she spots the fugitives resting outside a cabin near Nome. She approaches them and says she’s the police and she’s taking them in. One shoots her. The bullet hits her on her waist, then splinters and falls to the ground. The other fugitive shoots her. The bullet hits her on the left leg, ricochets off her leg and hits one of the fugitives on the arm wounding him.

Third Fugitive: “What the heck? Who are you? Are you an alien?”

Fourth Fugitive: “Let’s run for it.”

Before they can flee, Galactic picks them up and flies back to the briefing point. Galactic lands and throws the stunned fugitives on the ground. The officers are amazed by her strength and extraordinary capabilities. The entire search and capture took one hour.

FBI Agent: “You’re amazing. Thanks for your help. You’re now an FBI agent. You’ll be receiving your FBI badge in a few days.”

Galactic: “I’m proud to be a part of the FBI. Are we finished with this operation?”

FBI Agent: “Not until we celebrate.”

Galactic: “I’d like that.”

Two officers take the three fugitives back to prison and one takes the fourth to a hospital while the others go to a nearby restaurant to celebrate. They order sandwiches, drinks and cakes.

Officer: “Galactic, do you eat?”

Galactic: “I don’t need food to survive, but I love to taste food.” She orders her favorite cake; chocolate cake with fudge icing. She puts a big piece in her mouth. “I can’t believe how good this is,” she says. She had a great day helping mankind.
