Galactic: The Superhuman Robot

Chapter 4: Galactic Teaches Astrophysics

Two months later:

John: “How are you and what’s going on?”

Galactic: “I’m much better.”

John: “I’m glad to hear that. How come?”

Galactic: “One reason is that I’ve been given a position at CUNY (City University of New York) teaching astrophysics.”

John: “That’s great! Do the students know you’re a superhuman?”

Galactic: “No, but I’ll tell them when they know me better. By knowing a superhuman fairly well may make it easier to accept.”

John: “What do they call you?”

Galactic: “They call me Ms. Galaxy. That’s like Galactic but isn’t too way out.”

John: “I agree. Are you enjoying teaching smart kids?”

Galactic: “Yes and they’re smart! They might teach me a thing or two. This month my lectures will be on the Milky Way. At the end of each lecture, I take questions from the students. I’ll answer all their questions no matter how long it takes.”

John: “You seem excited over this teaching position. That’s terrific. What else are you happy about?”

Galactic: “I’m in the process of having artificial sex organs attached to my body. It should take a few months to accomplish.”

John: “What else will science be able to do?”

Galactic: “Who knows? Technology gets more and more complicated and amazing.”

John: “What else are you interested in learning?”

Galactic: “I’m interested in learning more about multiverses. You can’t prove their existence but the topic is mind boggling.”

John: “I agree, but anything about the universe is mind boggling to me.”

Galactic: “That’s true. We’ve got to find a way to travel through the universe. I mentioned that to you before and teleportation is the only way unless an advanced alien civilization reaches us first.

John: “Would you like that?”

Galactic: “It depends if they’re friendly and if they’re willing to teach us what they know. I must get to my class. Talk to you soon.”

John: “Okay, great.”
