Fudge, I reincarnated as the heroine!

Chapter 16

As I had a look of terror remembering a creepy story I read about pigman, like scared out of my mind since I was in a forest, Megan crouched down seeing that I refused to budge. I remembered that the story may be scary, but what terrified me was that I realized the orc I’m about to face was a real man-eater.

As my face got paler and paler, I saw that my team looked concernedly at me while ignoring the approaching orc.

My face visibly darkened and quickly pushed Megan out of the way as it aimed with a rudimentary shaped club made with spikes.

Megan looked in horror as the club smashed my back and made into a bloody mess.

My vision darkened, but not before seeing my brother stabbing his sword into the orc’s spinal cord.

My brother got promoted to corporal for single handedly killing the orc, while I lied in my bed after waking up from a 2 day coma. My injuries were severe and refusing to be healed by the overly insistent Frey was backed up by his wife who agreed with me that it would be suspicious to get unscathed by such a hit. But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t struggling with that decision since it hurt like hell and was seriously impaired.

Megan decided to nurse me to health and Jack was needlessly blaming himself.

It was my fault since I froze in fear and failed to report the orc’s presence.

Robin came to cheer me up every day after training and Megan throwed icy glares at anyone who tried to convince her to go to sleep. She felt responsible, but sleepiness is hard to combat so she eventually fell asleep on the side of my bed.

For the first time I knew what having an elder sister would be like.

Jade would come and silently feed me food while Megan was out.

It’s like having all of them as elder siblings.

But I couldn’t miss the look he gave Megan.

I see a ship starting to be built! I quickly muffled my odd snicker before creeping someone out.

It took a whole month to be completely healed and with the help of the angels, I didn’t have any further issues.

The vampires told me that during the night, my brother would come and briefly check on me. They also told me he didn’t have any ill will for me and what surprised me was that he already got promoted to sergeant, so we won’t be in the same squad anymore. He’s only 12 years old but is already so capable!

I feel bad for dragging my team down.

I should also work harder!

My stupid fear got the best of me and influenced my state of mind in such a way that caused me to freeze.

I have to steel myself for there are much more scary things in this world and that is losing the ones you care about.

I have to stop being a coward controlled by fear!

The angels and vampires may be OP existences, but I won’t be able to always rely on them.

I only have this life and I’m not going to throw it away that easily!
