From Secret Wife to Queen of Her World

Chapter From Secret Wife 144

Chapter144.

Hazel didn't want to talk to Sebastian about this any longer.

She turned around and said earnestly and calmly, "I don't want to go abroad because I want to stay in my home country."

"Your mother is very kind. She took good care of me. When I left Los Angeles, I left you a letter. I said goodbye, right?"

Didn't it count?

Sebastian recalled what had happened. He came back home excitedly, wanting to share the good news with her. He got a recommendation letter. Also, he and she had always ranked first in the grade. And with the awards they had won in competitions, he was sure that they could be admitted

to their dream school. However, he saw nothing but an empty room. Not, it wasn't that empty actually. She kept all the clothes and jewelry that the Stevens family bought for her, only taking her own belongings and a letter placed on the table.

"Basty, I'm back to Nyack. Don't miss me."

Snapping back to reality from his memories, Sebastian looked into Hazel's eyes, knowing that something had happened in between that he was unaware of.

He had asked his grandmother and his parents, but they all said they didn't know. They only said Hazel had returned to her hometown to take the college entrance examination. Later, one year, during the New Year's Eve dinner, his mother drank too much and let slip that although Hazel was good, she was not suitable for the only son of the Stevens family Only then did he find some clue. When his mother sobered up, he went to ask her again but she said that she had forgotten what she had said.

Sebastian had been excellent since childhood. And he had a prestigious family background. Even though he had friends, they were all attracted to him because of his social status. Although Hazel was not talkative back then, he could sense that she genuinely considered him as a friend. He sincerely regarded Hazel as a confidant.

They went to school and came home together, did homework together, and researched interesting topics together. He was amazed by her thinking and enjoyed every day with her. He had a feeling of finding a kindred spirit.

He wanted to tell the whole world that Hazel was his best friend!

But in the end, only he remained at the Stevens' house.

"Haze..."

Hazel thought of the sight of Sebastian's mother kneeling and crying and heartlessly rejected the idea of continuing the conversation.

"Basty."

He hadn't heard her call him like that for over ten years.

Sebastian stared at her fixedly.

Hazel said, "It's getting late. Go back and rest."

She smiled politely and nodded, looking at the curious eyes of the three children. Slowly, she said, "Say goodbye to Sebastian."

The three children said goodbye in unison.

The car door closed and quickly drove out of Sebastian's sight.

He picked up the business card next to him and handed it to his assistant, asking his assistant to keep it safe as it might be needed later.

Hazel told the restaurant manager to return the money Sebastian had paid for the meal to him after one hour.

When Sebastian returned to the hotel and saw the message about the refund, he immediately hád his assistant contact the restaurant to ask why.

The moment Sebastian found out it was Hazel's order, he felt bitter in his heart. It turned out...

They had already become so distant.

When Hazel returned to the Robinson's place, she saw Gabriel's car.

The black Maybach parked right under the streetlight, in the exact same spot where Sebastian had parked two days ago.

She didn't know if it was by chance or if Gabriel learned something from the bodyguard who stayed here to protect the children.

The Campbell Group got several new projects recently. Gabriel worked overtime at the company day and night. So, he came to the Robinson's place less frequently.

"Dad!"

Jaxon and Joshua hadn't seen him much lately. As soon as they got out of the car, they ran towards Gabriel, their faces filled with excitement upon seeing him.

Leila subconsciously took two steps with her ponytails fluttering. Suddenly, she realized something wrong.

He was the father of Jaxon and Joshua. Why should she run over?

Leila abruptly halted her steps, causing her body to sway. Hazel quickly rushed over and grabbed hold of her clothes.

Leila looked up and sweetly called out, "Mommy, pick me up!"

Hazel lifted her up and touched her nose, teasingly saying, "You lazy little bug, we are almost home but you still want me to pick you up?"

Leila puckered her lips and kissed Hazel on the face.

"Love you, Mom.

"Love you suber suber suber much!"

Hazel Wis amused by Leila and corrected her, saying, "It's super, not suber." Leila nodded and followed, "Sup... Sup... Suber!"

Leila blinked her eyes eagerly as if waiting for Hazel's praise, while Hazel shook her head helplessly, 28 1

"Baby girl, it seems like I have to take you to school earlier."

Leila's eyes lit up when she heard the word "school" and she nodded, saying, "Together! With Jaxon and Joshua!"

She didn't know many words but she still sounded cute.

"You can't go to school together with them for now. Maybe you will have a chance when in primary school..."

Hazel walked into the villa while holding Leila, without disturbing the twins and Gabriel's parent-child time.

Gabriel caught his two sons as they ran towards him.

"Why run? Be careful in case of falling."

Jaxon smiled apologetically and said, "Dad, I missed you so much."

Joshua smiled and said, "Dad, we haven't seen you for a long time. Have you been on another business trip?"

Every time Gabriel went on a business trip, Joshua would not see him for two days. Joshua had already gotten used to it. After all, every time Gabriel came back, he would bring the twins gifts. Joshua wondered if Gabriel brought them any this time.

Today, he cared more about something else than gifts.

Joshua whispered, "Dad, did you see the message I sent you and come back immediately?"

Gabriel touched his head and said, "I didn't go on a business trip. I've been busy in the company recently. I've been working overtime at the office. Once I'm done with work, I come to see you."

Joshua was a little disappointed. He thought that Gabriel had come back because of his message. "Let's go. I will take you back."

Gabriel did not see Hazel in the living room. He learned from the butler that she had taken Leila back to the room. He glanced at the time and indeed, it was the time when Leila usually went to sleep.

Just now, Leila ran over to him but stopped halfway. Gabriel thought that Hazel told her not to be too close to him.

He lowered his eyes, feeling a little sad.

Upon hearing that Gabriel was going to tell them a bedtime story, Jaxon and Joshua immediately went upstairs to take a shower. They each had their own rooms, but Joshua brought his pillow and slept with his brother in order to listen to the bedtime story together. After the two boys fell asleep, Gabriel closed the book, turned off the bedside lamp, and quietly left the children's room.

The opposite was Hazel's master bedroom.

In just a few days, it would be the blind date party arranged by Arthur for Gabriel. She didn't expect that she would be invited.
