From Princess To Queen

Chapter 33

The Escape of Felix

“Put Felix in the interrogation room and make sure you suppress his wolf and mind links. We do not want him trying to find someone to break him or Libby out.” Xavior told the guards.

It took three guards to handle Felix and get him into the interrogation room where Xavior and Dunken were waiting. They decided to take this role on so that Clara could train for her upcoming battle against her father. She would train in her mother’s pack as she has been doing for the past ten-plus years. Nobody was sure how the fighting would go or what the rules of the fight would be, but that would have to be dealt with later. Right now, they had to get a handle on Felix.

The question for him is, do they let him escape so that they can build a much bigger case to take him down or end it right here and with his mother? This would have to be something that Xavior, Dunken, and Clara would have to discuss with each other. There is a risk they let him ‘escape,’ and that is he would take Libby along with him, and they do not want that to happen. Decisions, decisions, this was going to be tough to handle.

“How on earth did you break into our compound Felix?” Dunken asked.

“I do not have to tell you this, but it is one of the borders that was not guarded.” He says with a smirk.

“Which border was that? Because we know the entire compound has patrols and guards. We also have cameras to watch who comes and who goes at every border, including the in-between,” comments Xavior.

Felix rolled his eyes, knowing they were calling his bluff, but they wanted to see if he would answer correctly. If they still need to, they will show him proof of how exactly he got in and the steps he took along the way. In the meantime, they had Libby moved to a more secluded location where nobody would ever go. That is where the criminals go when sentenced to life in prison for their crimes. The council handles this and is heavily guarded. No visitors are allowed, and there is no place for them to escape.

Felix refused to answer the questions they were throwing at him. He was huffing and puffing like the arrogant ass he is. Xavior and Dunken momentarily excused themselves to retrieve their videos of entering the compound and how they found him and confiscated his vehicle, for which Xavior would never return. They are building a tight case against him and already have everything they need about Libby since she conceived Felix.

“Felix, we have proof of you breaking our compound. Would you like to recant and explain exactly how you entered and where? This is your last chance to confess.”

“I will not tell you as it is top secret.” Felix laughed.

“Really? Watch this....” Dunken states as he is starting the video feed.

Felix is watching in disbelief. His face falls but is masked back to a sad look. He could be better at hiding his eyes, and the guys could read the expressions. They snicker to themselves, knowing that they have him at every corner and turn he makes. This enlightens their day, and they cannot wait to tell Clara.

Felix was thinking about how to escape the embarrassment he was causing himself. All he could think about was being caught before being caught in the garage. He knew he was done for now but had to escape and return to his so-called pack to attack other groups to gain the control he desperately needed and wanted.

Sweat started running across his forehead, and the others could see the sweat beads running down his brows and into his eyes. He tried desperately to wipe it off, but they all had their eyes on him. He was frozen in his seat, and they knew the truth, but he sure did not know what to do now.

When the video ended with him being apprehended, they all raised their brows.

“Now, what do you have to say about yourself? Guess you thought we were bluffing, huh?” Xavior states in a snarky tone.

“Umm....uhm....well......”

“Thought so, Felix. Take him back to his cell. Oh, and Felix, you will find an empty cell next to yours. If I were you, I would think long and hard about how you will handle your future from here on out.” Xander scolds.

Felix was taken back to his cell; as he walked down the long corridor, he saw some of the cells emptied. His mother was in when he passed the cell; he was amazed to know it was emptied. He had a disapproving look, and tears swelled in his eyes as they gave him another shot to suppress his wolf. The door slammed shut, and the guards shook their heads at him.

“Dude, all you had to do was come clean. Just be honest is all you have to do,” one of the guards told him as they all walked off.

“Well, that went as expected. His eyes said it all.” Xavior stated with disbelief.

“Yep, I cannot believe he did not come clean; he knew there were cameras there, and he looked straight at them, waving to them while showing his face.”

“We all know he is not the brightest cookie in the jar. Wonder how the hell he became alpha?”

“Killed his father, that is how.”

“Why would he do that? Or did he kill him and not Libby?”

“That is a good question, but how do we find the evidence? Plus, do we, or anyone, know where his body is buried?”

“Now, that is a good question. No council members asked that question or did not care, but we needed to find out one way or the other after talking to Clara. She should be done with training now.”

They went to look for Clara, and she was walking back from her pack training drinking water. She ran up to her mate and his beta, giving Xavior a kiss and a hug. Dunken made a gagging noise as he walked away from them, doubled over laughing. They entered the castle and headed towards the kitchen to grab food to take to the suite.

“Tell me, guys, what is happening? I can see it on your faces?”

“Libby was moved to a more permanent location where she will await her trial, then stay at that prison.”

“What else? What about Felix? How did that go?”

“He refused to tell us anything, but his face and eyes said it all. We showed him the videos of himself entering the compound and working his way down the stairs to the garage.”

“What had been his reactions to videos when you played them back?”

“Comical, he tried to keep a stoic face, but his eyes said it all. He could not believe that we had caught him, and the funniest part is that he looked straight into the cameras at one point.”

“Cannot deny it when you are stupid enough to look up into the cameras.” They all laughed.

Clara jumped into the shower since she was done training for the last five hours. She was exhausted, but work needed to be taken care of now. She had been contemplating if they needed to set up Felix to escape so he could continue what he had been doing and see how far he would go to complete his lifelong goal of taking over the packs and the crown or to keep him in prison. She knew that they had to catch him red-handed in the act. Kelly did help them gain the information they needed, but Clara felt more was required and needed more.

“Hey, I have been thinking we need to let Felix escape, set him up to finish what he has started and keep an eye on him to see what he plans to do on his own since he does not have Mommy dearest with him anymore.” Clara made the statement they all were thinking.

“Or we can just let him go on a warning which would be his final one. So when he dicks around with us again, he goes to prison permanently.” Dunken states.

“Why don’t we eat food with the pack members and then reconvene about this later? We still have time; besides, I hear a tummy growling. Hmm, Clair?”

Clair blushes and takes off out of the room as they follow her to the dining room, where there is a vast buffet of sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, desserts, and drinks. They all loaded their plates and went to sit with some other pack members. Some were a little shocked that the princess was eating with them. One of the members made a snarky comment about her being there to eat and how dare she show her face. Xavior looked at the person and was shooting daggers at them.

“Why would the princess show her face around here? She never does and now decides to eat with the likes of us?” unknown she-wolf states.

“Excuse me, if you value your life, bite your tongue in my presence. You do not have the right to waltz in here and make rude comments about me, my mate, or MY COURT! I could have you arrested on the spot to punish you. However, I will let it slide only this time, but beware, I will have you arrested next time.” Clara retorted.

The unknown she-wolf turned her head in the opposite direction. She had blonde hair, died, and small round brown eyes. She came off as fake shit, and Clara could not stand her. She is a couple of years younger than Clara and likes to start some trouble throughout the pack. She had been reprimanded several times about her attitude towards the royal family and just used her last straw.

“Princess, I changed my mind about what you said.” Xavior mind linked her.

“Really? What is your plan?”

“Let him figure out how to escape and see if he has any resources in the pack. If so, banish the helper, aka that bitch you just scolded.”

“Sounds good to me. I will link the guards not to shoot up and let him be. We will monitor him through the cameras.”

Two days later, Felix was mind-linking his people, telling them he was held up in prison and needed help to break out. He had a few on his side since the last attack he commanded. The guards stopped going down to see Felix except to give him food. Felix needed help understanding the change but did not ask questions. Now time to plan the escape, he thought.

“Find a way to get me out of here now. I have things to do and packs to conquer.” Felix mind-linked someone.

“I will find you; I do not know where all the cells are.”

“Just go look around and try to find it and get me the hell out of here NOW!” he yelled through mind-link.

The person he linked got to work wandering the property looking to see where they could find the prison where they keep prisoners. This person would have to ask one of the warriors where they keep them and how to get down there. But they did not know how they would ask.

“Do you remember how you got down there, Felix?”

“Stairs, but there is a back way to get here too. I can tell there are several cells and a few windows at ground level.”

“Fine, I will keep looking.”

The person kept looking around until they found what looked like windows showing through some brush. They snuck over to where the windows were bending down, looking inside. They saw the cells and tried to see if they could see Felix. They started to push on the window. It seemed a little loose, so they kept going and pulling on it to move it away from its bound seal.

Felix hears a window breaking, and he looks down to his right and sees a figure. The window broke, and the person came through, landing on their feet with a thud. The door to the cell was open, so they walked through it, looking to their right, then to their left, seeing an annoyed Felix.

“Need out of here, do ya?”

“Just break the lock and get me out of here. These sons-of-bitches have hell to pay for putting me in here.”

“Reminder, alpha, you broke into their territory, not the other way around.”

“Shut up, Shelby, and just get me out of here. Have you learned anything yet?”

“Working on it, but you should know these people are very tight-lipped about revealing any information, and I am not allowed in the house.”

“What the fucking hell did you do now?”

“Smarted off to the princess, and she snapped back at me.”

“Surprised, that is all she did. I would have killed you on the spot for smart mouthing my people or me.”

She rolled her eyes and found something to break him out of prison. He got out, but they had to go back through the window where she came from. He did not like going back out the window since he was prominent in height and size. He tried going through it, nearly getting stuck, but Shelby pushed him through the window.

When he was free, they took off towards the pack’s East side, dodging those on patrol. Patrol knew he was escaping but was told to let him go if they were to see him and his helper. The patrol stood off to the side, going unnoticed by Felix. When they approached the fence, there was a gaping hole in it that he could crawl through without getting cut.

“I cannot go with you, Felix; this is where I leave you.”

“Please come with me. I need you by my side.”

“Next time, I will come with you, mate.”

They passionately kissed each other before he went under the fence. He took off into the woods, shifting into his wolf, and ran back to where he would be safe. One of his warriors was waiting by the road, just outside the pack, to pick him up and take him home. It was a comfortable silence for a portion of the drive home.

“How the hell did you break out of there? Nobody ever breaks free from prison in any pack, let alone the royal pack.”

“I had help from the inside,” Felix said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Who is it? Can this person help you/us with our mission to obtain control of the pack, all the packs?”

“I...I don’t know if I want this person to be involved with that.”

“Male or female? And what are they to you?”

“Female...Uhm...I do not want to talk about it. Just drop it, okay?”

“Yeah, sure, man, it is dropped.”

They continue their way back to the pack, and when they enter his group, everyone is wondering where Libby is and where he has been for the past few days. He looked at those loyal to him, the original pack members, and nodded as he entered his home. He headed to his bedroom, straight to the bathroom, and showered. His emotions were running wild, and he did not know what to do now. He had to think about what was happening.
