Chapter 49 - Treacherous.
Recap:
I teleported right in front of the she-bitch, causing her to jump and turn to run. “Nope.” I froze her where she stood, keeping her mouth free.
“You, mother fucker! Let me loose! I haven’t done anything to you!” She screamed.
Maybe I should have frozen her mouth. “Well, that wasn’t nice. Your words are partly true. You didn’t do anything to me. But, it affects me all the same. You-” I was cut off.
“I challenge Willow for the Luna position!” She yelled.
I heard Willow grunt, knowing she was protected. Damn, she did better than my mom did. I knew my mom could hear me, but we needed a little comedy relief.
I heard Asher’s wolf talking to Willow, letting her know not to worry about the challenge. He let her know she could do anything he could do. I was about to laugh at the look on her face, but the bitch started yelling again.
“Are you deaf? I challenge the slut for the Luna position!”
I heard a growl so loud I was almost deaf. My head jerked towards my mates on its own. My eyes widened when I looked at her. Willow’s eyes were bright blue and glowing, something I hadn’t seen before, well, I had one time. Well, shit! Now, I understood what was going on.
“You will not call my granddaughter a slut. She did nothing wrong. She trusted the wrong people, but what do you expect from a child in her own territory? You called a challenge, so come on,” the Moon Goddess spoke through Willow.
I watched as Willow’s eyes changed back to her beautiful blue-green eyes. Her eyes were wide, but she was ready to teach this woman a lesson. I knew Asher would hold back her anger.
“Challenge accepted!” Willow yelled as she walked over to the challenge circle.
“I’ll lay down the rules, Griffith,” my mom told me. I nodded my head.
I pulled the she-bitch to the challenge circle, making sure she stayed in place until the rules were over. I made sure to spell Willow even more than she was, noticing my siblings had done the same. I walked over to her and gave Willow a kiss. I let her know to listen to Asher, to follow his moves. I also let her know she was protected from harm. Willow nodded and stepped into her corner and listened to the rules.
I unfroze the bitch, putting her in a barrier. I didn’t want her to run from the challenge ring. I wanted this she-wolf to die. What she did to a child - any child - was wrong on so many levels. How could someone do that to someone, knowing the child would be raped and beat? I was wishing I could have torn her throat out before she called the challenge.
My mom looked at the bitch and smiled. “Just so you know." She paused. "Willow hasn’t had her Luna ceremony, but she’s still going to fight you. That’s a real Luna.”
“I’ll be the Luna here! I have wanted an Alpha forever. Why the hell do you think I stole her? I thought he would make me his Luna and keep her as his mistress!” Amy yelled as her eyes widened.
“Thank you, Amy. You opened your mouth without a truth spell. Take care of this bitch, Willow.” I glared at Amy and nodded at Willow. I saw Willow nod as she smiled wickedly. I knew Asher was talking to her, letting her know he would help her fight.
“How did you figure out I was Griffith’s mate? That is why you took me to start with, right?” Willow asked as she glared at Amy.
Good question.
Amy started laughing. “We didn’t know at first. But, when we would take over other packs and go by this one you always looked in this direction wistfully. You gave yourself away. It was fun to play with all of you. All I needed was to give a sob story about my family being killed and viola. You-”
“should shut your mouth,” my mom growled at her. “Now, are you going to fight or stand there and gloat?”
“I’m done gloating, bitch." Everyone gasped. "I’m going to kill her and be the Luna of this pack,” Amy stated as she smiled at my mom.
My mom started chuckling, knowing what I knew too. She went over the rules and Amy didn’t take magic out of the equation. This ought to be fun. I can’t believe we were all duped by this she-bitch. I wondered who cast a spell over her thoughts. I knew we didn’t read the Omega’s minds, not wanting them to be uncomfortable with us - something we needed to change after this challenge.
“Fight!” My mom yelled as she ran out of the ring.
I watched as Amy fidgeted and looked at Willow. “Just to let you know...I was one of the pack fighters. I will be able to crush you quickly. I can’t wait to make a fool out of you in front of your parents,” Amy remarked as she looked at Willow’s parents with a smirk.
“Are you going to talk all day or fight? I have things to do,” Willow taunted Amy.
I watched as Amy huffed and ran towards Willow. My heart was in my throat and I was trying not to shake. At the last minute, Willow stepped aside and kicked her in the back. Amy went flying through the air, landing hard.
Amy got up and growled, holding her arm she landed on. I noticed when Willow kicked Amy she had landed on her shoulder and now it was dislocated. Willow waited to see what Amy would do next. Amy popped her shoulder back in place and growled again as she ran at Willow again.
Willow let out a huge growl, startling each of us and causing Amy to fall to her knees. I noticed our pack bowing and showing their necks to her. I forgot her parents were Alphas, making her one too.
Willow walked over to her and knelt in front of her. “If you were a stronger wolf, as you said, you would have never knelt to me. I could take your life as you bow to me, but I’m not going to be unfair to you. I’m not like you at all and I don’t want to be. Don’t take my words as weak. I will end you to keep my pack safe.” She walked away and turned back around to Amy. “You may rise and continue.” Every one of our pack rose, startling Willow. She looked at them with a sheepish smile.
Amy rose and glared at Willow, but she didn’t move. She waited on Willow to make a move. I watched as Willow rolled her eyes. She disappeared and reappeared right in front of Amy, punching her in the nose. She stomped on her foot and kicked out her knee, taking a few steps back.
“You’re cheating! I didn’t know you could use magic, too!” Amy whined as she wiped the blood off her nose.
“You should always know your opponent's strengths and weaknesses.”
“You are weak, that’s all I needed to know!” Amy yelled as she continued to wipe her nose.
“Said the person with blood on her face and a messed up leg,” Willow snarled back.
“Woo-hoo! Look at our mate. She’s beautiful and fierce,” Blaze, my wolf stated as he jumped up and down in the back of my mind.
“I know, right?” I told him as I smiled at my wolf’s enthusiasm.
I was startled out of my talk with my wolf when I heard...
