Chapter 43 - Special Power
Recap:
“We can help too. We were trained by mom,” Winter remarked as she gave me a look mom had perfected.
“After we all eat. You will need your strength and Micah needs food,” Willow explained as she grabbed my arm and pulled me to the dining room, a room I hadn’t been in yet.
Willow’s POV
I pulled Griffith’s hand as I led him to the table. I didn’t want him to tell me he wasn’t hungry. He needed food. He needed the energy that came with it, and he was going to eat it or I was going to force-feed him.
I heard him laugh at something someone said. I turned my head to look at my mate. I couldn’t believe my mate was so handsome and caring. He had blonde hair like his mother. A golden tan, telling me he loved being outside. He had cheekbones that could cut glass. He had the most incredible lips. They were plump and very kissable. He wasn’t conceited at all. He treated me as if I were a princess. He was so in tune with my body and my reactions. I knew it was him and not the mate bond. He’s a very special man and I was happy he was mine.
“And mine, Willow. I want to play too. I never get to be with my mate. You better give my time or I’ll take it from you, understand?” My wolf, Flame, ordered me as she let a little growl at me, not wanting me to growl out loud.
“Okay, okay. Calm down, Flame. You’ll get your turn, but right now we have work to do. I’m sure his wolf is pushing him, too,” I answered as I felt my mate grab my hand.
“Is your wolf bugging you like mine is?” Griffith asked me as he laughed at the look on my face.
“My wolf is a perv. She won’t quit showing me new positions,” I answered as I blushed and hid my face in Griffith’s chest.
“I know the feeling. We’re going to give in to them or they will make time whenever they want. Believe me, I know my wolf will take over. He’s already warned me,” Griffith whispered in my ear as I nodded to his information, knowing my wolf would do the same.
We finished eating and talking with the pack. We had a few who were stubborn, but I was sure my mate would take care of any problems quickly and efficiently. I knew he had to be that way or the idiots of this pack would do what they wanted. And, what they wanted was to be able to rape women and kill when they wanted to.
We walked up to the office and stepped in. “Woah, your office threw up, Griffith,” I told him.
Griffith started to laugh, Micah joining him. “You should have seen it before. This looks good.”
We all sat down after Griffith told us what we needed to do. I was sorting the paperwork in my pile. I could believe all the unpaid bills and bills for frivolous things the idiot bought. No wonder the men acted like heathens. They had all the alcohol and drugs they wanted. I hoped they didn’t drug the women and men when they raped them. I couldn’t imagine, wait, yes I can imagine what they went through.
I saw something in the corner of my eye. I was startled for a second, but I kept watching. I didn’t know exactly what I was seeing. It was someone’s energy trail that left their impression on their actions and I was seeing the energy?
We finished sorting everything and added our papers to the pile’s everyone else had made. I could see something was bothering Griffith, but I wasn’t sure what it was.
“Shit! Why can’t we find the money he stole from this pack?” Griffith yelled as I walked over to him and hugged him, calming him down some.
“Is that what you were looking for?” I asked him as I rubbed his back.
“Yes, but I can’t find any paperwork. I needed his account numbers,” he answered.
I jolted at his words, causing Griffith to look at me. “I t-think I know where it is,” I quietly said.
“How?”
“I’m not sure, but I can see the energy trails the dead made on a daily basis. I don’t know how I can see this but I can,” I quietly answered as I looked down at the floor.
Griffith lifted my face up. “It might be a new power you have.”
“Hey, how come she wasn’t in pain?” Micah jokingly asked as he smiled.
“Maybe my grandma thought she had been through enough pain. Her next power might be a little more painful. We never know. But, if it’s a big power or more than one it will be painful.”
I nodded my head and followed the energy trail I had seen earlier. I started at the corner by the door and walked around. I was hoping I could help in some way. I didn’t like feeling as if I was useless. I wanted to help as much as I could.
It seemed as if I was walking in circles, but I didn’t stop when I got a funny look from Micah. I was sure I looked as if I was drunk. I kept up my drunken moves until I got almost to the end of the trail. I stepped and heard a thunk. I was in the opposite corner of the desk. The corner was blocked off by a potted plant. I moved it aside and looked at the floor. I noticed the carpet wasn’t meeting in a few spots. I picked it up and there was a safe.
“Holy, shit! You found it, honey,” Griffith remarked as he hugged me.
“Yeah, but we need the combination..” I trailed off as Griffith looked at me. “I’ve got it. I don’t know how and I don’t care.”
“Wow, my mate is special, well, you’ve always been special,” Griffith boasted as he hugged me and bent down to the safe.
“The combination is; twelve, three, nineteen, six, three,” I told him as he put the code in.
I watched as the lid popped up. I couldn’t believe what was in the safe. I was shocked to my core.
I was so shocked I couldn’t speak. I noticed everyone else’s mouth was hanging open as much as mine was. “Are those deeds?” I asked pointing at the documents, knowing what deeds looked like.
Griffith handed me the deeds. I looked over them and noticed Erol was trying to buy up as much land as he could - land that was all around us - land that was now ours.
I watched as Griffith pulled out a sack and immediately dropped it. “Spell.”
It figures Erol would have someone spell his shit. He was the most dishonest person I have heard of. And, I’ve heard about a lot of them. The idiot who kidnapped me was dishonest himself, but he didn’t hoard land or anything else, well, except me.
Griffith had us all sit down. We were going to take away the spell and see what was in the bag. We held hands and closed our eyes. For some reason, I was getting images of the spell. What he did. Who did it? How he did it.
Wait, what?
How in the hell was I seeing the images of how he did this. I was answered quickly by the Moon Goddess. She gave me powers that would help my mate and others. I was thankful for her. I would have been lost without her.
I noticed everyone take a breath and shake their heads no. Winter was handing out energy bars, but I was lost in my mind, watching image after image. I wasn’t sure if I could send the images to my mate, but I figured I would try.
“Woah,” Griffith, Winter, Autumn, and Micah exclaimed as they looked at me.
“Oops. I meant to send it to my mate, but I guess I sent it to all of you. Wow, for sure,” I explained as I looked around, my eyes wide.
“We need to work on our parts of the images that Willow sent to each of us. We need to put it in order-” Griffith tried saying.
“-he can put it in order,” I said as I pointed at Micah.
