From Here to Ecstasy

Chapter 25 - Lighting

Recap:

I squatted down on a big limb as I looked at the skies. I watched as the shifter puffed out a few flames from his snout as he looked for my pack. The shifter came in low, barely missing the trees. I notched an arrow on my bow, watching for the shifter. I pulled back the bow as soon as I felt the hate triple. I knew he was close, but he was quiet. He must have been coasting on the wind currents, trying to be as quiet as he could.

I waited for him to make his move. I heard a movement to the east of me, but I didn’t have time to send an arrow at him.

Well, shit!

All I heard was a big explosion next to me….

I heard a big explosion next to me. It threw me out of the tree into another tree. I tried to get up, but my body wasn't working right. The last thing I remember seeing was my mom standing over me, her wolfs eyes blazing.

Summer’s POV

I was standing on a limb, waiting on the dickhead to make his move. He was trying to be sneaky. He was using the air currents to keep the noise down. I heard him swish his wings once and then it went quiet again. I knew he wasn’t near me, so I moved closer to my kids. I had to make sure they were okay. I almost fell out of my tree when I felt Griffith go down. I teleported to him, standing over him. Athena and Justice were with me, our eyes blazing. I wasn’t mad, no, I was furious. I knew I needed to calm down and take care of Griffith.

I took a deep breath in and blew it out as I shook the tension from my shoulders, my wolves helping me. I was about to open my eyes and take care of Griffith when I heard a sound close. It was the shifter. He was going to try and take all of us down. I wasn’t having any of it.

"Take the little bitch down, Summer," Justice snarled as she paced in the back of my mind for the first time since her death.

I had to laugh at her. I missed her, but I knew she was happy. She did calm me down, which is what I needed most of all. "Thanks, Justice. You helped with my anger, Athena helping you. Yes, I knew it was both of you bitches. Let's take down this ass."

I did as Athena told me to do, raising my hands in the air. I looked up and saw the dragon give me a quizzical look, wondering why I was standing with my arms to the sky. Athena told me to wait for a count of three and let our magic combine. I counted, looking into his eyes, and let loose with the lighting. My fingers tingled as lighting came out of my fingertips. I thought it would burn me with as much power as I felt running through me, but it didn't hurt at all. My fingers and hands seemed to heat up a little more than I was expecting. I didn’t care my hands could burn as long as he was dead.

The dragon’s eyes widened, if that was possible, as he tried to get away. I was calm, breathing easy and ready to take out this male. I hit him right in the chest, bringing him down hard. He hit three trees, bringing them down with him. I wanted to do a happy dance, but I had to take care of my pup.

I felt the air move, but I knew who it would be. I knelt down and checked Griffith’s breathing. He was barely breathing. I took matters into my own hands. I teleported him to the medical wing, teleporting my doctor to us. I didn’t know this packs doctors. I trusted mine. I must have teleported the kids with me, because they were standing right next to me.

“You rang or teleported?” The doctor asked as he looked down and gasped. “Never mind.”

I ran out and checked on the nurses here. I wanted to know if they were capable of doing their jobs. Of course, they were sitting on their asses, not paying attention to anyone. Well, that was about to change.

“Get your lazy asses up and go help the doctor with your Alpha.” They didn’t move. “Now!” They scrambled out of their seats and ran to the room I had teleported into.

I walked towards the bed, looking at the doctor in question. I was about to scream with all of my might, but the doctor must have felt the air around us changing.

“Alpha Summer, I need to get him to x-ray. I need to know what bones are broken,” he explained.

“So, what’s the problem?”

“They don’t have a x-ray machine or film,” he answered as he shook his head in disappointment.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, letting my mates know what we needed. I didn’t expect Blaine to show up with all the medical equipment or a better hospital bed. “You’ve got anything you would ever need, doc, time to fix my son.”

The doctor quickly set up the monitors and put the pads on Griffith’s chest as his mate came running in. I pulled her to me and rubbed her back as she cried in my arms. I had noticed the nurses weren’t helping in any way. They stood around as if they didn’t know what to do. I shook my head and pulled two of our nurses - ones without mates. I wasn’t sure how long they would need to be here. The bitches, the nurse’s from Griffith pack, were standing bed and watching, not doing anything.

“Move it, woman. I need to get in here and do your job,” Nikki, my nurse, sneered at the woman.

The woman moved out of Nikki’s way, Nikki giving me a wink. I watched everything the doc and my two nurses were doing. I had to step in a couple of times to teleport him off the bed and then back down on the bed, making sure the doc got all his x-rays. I kept Makenzie by my side, making sure she didn’t get in the way. I knew she was wanting to run to his side, but she could injure him more.

The doc ran back in. “He has a broken tailbone, two broken legs, his neck is broken. That is the one I’m most worried about. He also has broken ribs. I’m sorry. We will need to see how fast he heals and it may take a while for him to come out of this.”

A/N: He's an Alpha for less than a day. What's going to happen next, do you know?
