Chapter 18 - Family Affair
Recap:
She looked around. “Okay, where’s the fucker who wants to hurt my family. I’ll kill him for going after my pup-”
“-Mom! Calm the hell down. I’m fine and I’ve got it handled.” I noticed Asher and Ander had taken off, not wanting mom to stop them on their mission to help me out. “I’ve got it handled. It’s the reason Asher and Ander were here. They wanted to help and I decided I needed their help. I won’t ever turn down help from my family.”
Asher and Ander showed back up as they sat down on the ground, almost falling. I made sure to pick them up and set them in my lap. “What’s wrong? What happened? Did he hurt you two?” I was panicked. My brother’s were strong and they were breathing heavily, as if they had to flee from something or someone.
Griffith’s POV
I waited on my brother’s to catch their breaths. I had so much going through my mind. I checked them over, making sure they weren’t hurt. I asked the air to give them additional support, praying they would be okay. What the hell happened. I had never seen my powerful brothers act as if they had been scarred for life. It was a daunting feeling, knowing they could be hurt or whatever was going on with them.
Trace opened his mouth, closing it again as he swallowed hard, making my jump to his eyes. “He...plans to bomb the pack house, well, the whole pack.” He shuddered.
“Okay,” I slowly said. “We can spell the pack for whatever he’s going to do.”
Chase shook his head no. “He has napalm, Griffith. You know how bad napalm is,” Chase said as his voice cracked, his eyes looking haunted.
“How in the fuck does he have napalm? Where in the hell would he even get it from?” My mom yelled.
I was about to ask her to keep it down, but I felt the cone of silence my brothers put around us, knowing our mom would rant. It was a good thing they had put up a block around us. They knew mom too well.
I watched as Trace’s eyes got bigger, scaring the shit out of me. This wasn’t my fun loving, good for a laugh, little monster, brother. This was one who was stalling his words.
“Trace? We need to know,” I whispered, already fearing the answer.
“Uh. He’sadragonshifter,” Trace quickly answered, ducking his head down.
“Same thing, but English would be great, Trace,” our mom told him as she raised his chin up.
“He’s a dragon shifter. There hasn’t been one seen in over a hundred years. He can shoot out napalm. What are we going to do?” Trace explained, his face a mask of worry and confusion.
“Sounds as if we need to take him out as quickly as possible. I will get some of the witches of our pack. The boy’s need to let his brother’s and sister’s know we have a major conflict coming soon,” our mom commanded, looking at me with her, ‘I’m sorry’, face. “But, we might want to give the girl’s a little privacy.” She didn’t focus on our faces, letting me know my sister’s were going through the mating process.
“My mate is a hybrid. She’s a wolf and witch,” I boasted as I pulled her in my lap. “Mom, this is my mate, uh, what’s your name?” I asked as my mom laughed at me.
“My name is Makenzie. Nice to meet you, Alpha Summer,” she answered, her face shining bright at the mention of my mom.
I saw Makenzie’s wolf jumped in the front of her mind. “My name is Flame. Nice to meet you, Mom. And, it’s very nice to meet you, my mate.”
We started laughing, Makenzie joining us. “Sorry. She’s a little forward. She’s been oppressed for so long. We weren’t allowed to shift. We might have ran off. No might about it, we would have and tried to on so many occasions, ending with us being chained to the floor.”
Makenzie started crying her heart out. I knew she needed to let everything out. She needed to know that I didn’t blame her for anything. She tried to fight. She tried to get away. She tried so many damn things to get away. I was happy the fucking bastard brought her with him.
Mom snatched her out of my arms as I let out a little growl, getting the stink eye from her. Believe me, you don’t want to see her stink eye. She scared the shit out of me with just that one look. You knew you were in a lot of trouble if she did.
“Makenzie, it’s okay. Griffith knows how hard you fought. He didn’t blame you when he first saw you in between those men. He doesn’t blame you now. You’re okay, daughter. I’m so happy to meet you.” She tilted her head to the side. “How did you know my name?”
I watched as Makenzie hugged my mom tightly before she hopped back into my lap. “My wolf knows your wolf. But, I’ve heard from the other people in the pack, I was forced to be in, that they were going to take your pack. Some of the men were frightened and didn’t want to go against you or your mates. I scared them a lot more, telling them stories I had heard about you.”
“Well, thank you for scaring them.”
“Change of subject. What can subdue napalm. I’m-” I tried to ask.
“-earth, clay and water,” Asher cut in as he hugged Makenzie and me.
“That should be easy for us, considering we are tied to the elements.” I looked down at Makenzie. “What element are you tied to?”
“All of them, why?” She asked, a confused look on her face.
“Us too. We can command all the elements. But, we make sure to ask permission first, well, if we have time to ask. We do make sure to heal the earth afterwards,” I explained, kissing her on the nose.
“We’re going to have to find out when he’s planning on attacking. We can’t stay at your pack forever, Griffith. I know we can teleport quickly, but will it be soon enough?” My mom asked me, a worried look on her face.
All of my brother’s and sister’s showed up, well, not Summer, Winter, Micah or Kaiden. After hugging them and introducing them to my mate we all sat down and listened to my mom. Yes, I know I’m an Alpha. But, my mom has Athena, the Goddess of the Hunt, as her wolf, a wolf who could make battle plans better than anyone.
We listened to her plans before my mom left, leaving Ander, Asher, Trace, Chase, Zoe, Zander, Haley, Kaley, Sonny, and Windy with me. I would need to find rooms for them, making sure to keep the young ones on my floor. I knew it was going to be interesting around my pack for a while now. I know how my brothers and sisters like to play around.
Why me?
A/N: More drama. Who would have guessed the ass was a dragon shifter? I had to throw something into this book that was different than my others. Trace and Chase were scared, so what do you think will happen next?
