From Here to Ecstasy

Chapter 148 - All Kinds of Freaky

Dedicated to oddball, PenumbraMINE, Wild Spice, and, of course, N.Y.O.B. I couldn't have kept up without all of you pushing me. To the readers who also comment, thank you for reading.

Recap

“Really? You were going to shoot me? How dumb can you be?” My dad asked Nina. “Nevermind, I know how dumb you are.” He looked up at me. “Got any more rooms at the inn?”

I laughed. “But, of course.” I nodded my head and Windy, the witch, and one of the Warriors were gone.

I checked out Serenity’s mind, Ares helping. I wasn’t sure how I knew but I did. He nodded his head to me, letting me know she was clean. “How’s mom doing?”

“Well, she’s pregnant again-”

“-she is so going to kill you,” Windy commented quickly as she smirked at him. “But, maybe not. Did I hear you tell Trace he could talk to his mate later?”

“Uh, yeah -” he started to explain as ten witches showed up in the hospital room.

Kat’s POV

“Fun-fucking-tastic,” I sarcastically said as I smirked at the ladies. “Don’t move! Don’t use any spells!” I yelled in my Royal Alpha Queen voice. They stopped moving immediately.

“Who are you, bitch?” One of the witches yelled.

“Let me see...You can’t move, you can’t do spells, and I ordered you, you idiot.” I rolled my eyes.

“Huh?”

We all started laughing at her dumb comment. “I’m the Royal Queen.” I rolled my eyes and walked closer to her. “Now, why are you here?”

“I can answer that question, right used-to-be coven?” Serenity asked as she walked into the room with a few others.

“Or, I could,” Sonny said as he held up about six weapons, Windy holding four more.

“Well, I guess you don’t have any weapons, not even your spells. So, what was the plan?” I paused as my eyes widened. “Kill this pack's Alpha’s and kill us when we show up to mourn, aren't you a bunch of sick puppies.”

I turned and looked at Sonny, my eyes wide. “How the hell did I read their minds?” I mind-linked him.

Pay attention to the witches. I don’t want them to think you are afraid of them, not when I know you aren’t,” Sonny mind-linked, causing me to immediately turn around and look at the wide eyes and gaping mouths on their faces. “It’s part of your new power, most likely from being my mate and the Moon Goddess’s blessings.”

It is, Kat, it’s not from me, not this power,” my wolf said cryptically.

“How-how did you know our plans?” Another witch asked as she eyed me up and down, making me want to shudder in disgust. Witches were all about power and black witches were the worst.

“I have my ways,” I answered as I walked closer to her. Her eyes widened in excitement but dimmed when I walked behind her and whispered in her ear, loud enough for the witches to hear me. “I know what you and your power-hungry witches do with children. I know what you have done.” I paused. “To Antony.” I circled back around to her front. “Have fun in hotel celulas del Castillo.”

“Ooh, you sounded sexy, but what did you say?” The witch asked, her eyes following me everywhere.

“Our Royal Queen said, ’have fun in hotel castle cells,” Trace sarcastically said, rolling his eyes.

I nodded my head and Windy, Trace, Ares, and five guards disappeared with the witches. “Now, what news do you have for us regarding Alpha Summer’s treatment?” I asked, noticing one man shaking as if he would pass out any second. “Sit down, man, I’m not going to hurt you.” I laughed, pushing him into a chair and dragging one over for his mate. I walked back over to Sonny and leaned against him.

“We’re done with the antidote, but we need to find a way to get her to drink it and not choke,” the man told me, looking around the room for his much wanted answers. It was freaky being able to read their minds.

“Is that all?” He nodded as I walked over to get the cup from him, locking eyes with his mate. I froze her and said a spell to take out any part of the substance that was harmful, grabbing another glass to pour it in as I looked back at the lady. “You, don’t move!”

"You're all kinds of freaking." My wolf snickered. "But, I kind of like it,"

I felt Windy and Ares enter the room. “Windy, can you check her mind. I want to see if she’s been spelled or if she was up to no good on her own. And, please have Ares help you,” I mind-linked them, shocking Windy.

I walked over to Summer’s bed and climbed up on it. “Alpha Summer, you’re going to drink this all down without choking.” I poured the concoction into her mouth, making sure she didn’t choke. I was hoping my voice would work and worried too. I wasn’t sure if she would be mad at me when she woke up.

Kat, she was spelled, a nasty one, too,” Windy mind-linked me as I let out a breath and took a huge one in. “And, how in the hell did you know we were back?”

I turned and smirked at her as she showed up, startling everyone else in the room. I shrugged my shoulders and got down from the bed and walked over to the lady. I knelt at her feet and took her hands as she looked down, avoiding my eyes. I raised her head. “It wasn’t your fault. I caught it and you are not to blame. I know you tried to speak out against the spell but it was strong. You and your mate go find some time to be together, okay?” She nodded and left the room with her mate.

“What did she do?” Blaine forcibly asked as I walked over to Sonny.

“She was spelled and I had a feeling she was. She had the blank look of a spelled person, so I checked the medicine myself and took out the impurities,” I answered quietly. I didn’t want him mad at me but I would defend anyone who was used as she was.

“She can’t stay here!” He boomed.

“Is it what Alpha Summer would want? Haven’t you ever been spelled and couldn’t control yourself?” I asked softly, trying to diffuse the situation.

He deflated, knowing I was right. It wasn’t something his mate would condone. I could read him as if he were an open book. “No, she wouldn't want us to kick her out.” he paused and looked at me. “We were spelled before and it was awful. Thanks for reminding me of this fact. You are a great Royal Queen, Kat.” Blaine bowed to me and I frantically shook my head.

“No bowing to me, you’re my family.” I walked over and hugged him. I walked around the bed and hugged Zane, smiling at them when I could feel and hear a certain person.

“Ha! Damned skippy she got you right,” Alpha Summer commented as everyone gasped and I smirked, catching Sonny’s incredulous look. Blaine and Zane jerked their head around and stared at their mate in shock.

I started laughing at their faces. They looked relieved, contrite, and shocked. “Don’t look at me like that. You wanted me awake.” She looked around. “So, who’s getting me a burger, fries, chocolate shake, and pie?”

I watched as Sonny teleported food to his mom, smiling sheepishly. “I got you, Mom.”

“Are you going to come to the castle and watch the trail?” I asked as she nodded her head.

“You’ve been shot, don’t you think you should rest?” Zane asked her incredulously as he paced beside her bed.

“And, you two got me pregnant, you don’t hear me complaining.” She smiled. “Much.”

I laughed and walked back over to Sonny and leaned into his chest, laughing at my fathers-in-laws. I looked back into Sonny’s eyes and nodded my head, answering his unspoken question about going home.
