Chapter 142 - Darkness & Shadows
Dedicated to...Well, of course, it’s oddball and N.Y.O.B. Thanks for making me laugh.
Recap
“Go to her, dad. We’ve got this and anyone else who shows up, okay?” I asked as he nodded and disappeared.
“I’ll take her body to different places. I don’t want her to come back again,” Chase told me as he took her head first and disappeared.
I pulled Kat to me, kissing the daylights out of her. I was glad the war was over, but we had a lot of work to do when we got back to the castle. I was going to spend a few days with her before I had court again. It ought to be a fun few days of court.
I turned around quickly and grabbed the person who was sneaking up behind me, piercing their neck with my claw.
Sonny’s POV
“So, now we see who was the person behind everything. What did you promise people, my mother’s pack, or my mother? I asked the man who was smirking at me.
“Took you long enough to figure it out-”
“-not really. We’ve been on to you for a while now. It’s just your bad luck my dad is still here,” I cut him off as a big smile broke across my face. “Right, Dad?”
My dad, Blaine, came out of Windy’s invisibility veil, standing right behind my mom’s uncle, but an ass or bastard to the rest of us. The rest of us circled him, making sure he didn’t leave, run away, or have someone teleport him off.
“Vampyres, show yourselves!” I ordered as I watched three vampyres show up. “You’re not to move from your spot! You can’t interfere or teleport this bastard out of the circle!” I saw them freeze, their eyes pleading with the bastard to help them. What the idiots didn’t know is he could care less. He only cared for himself.
Ass-hats.
“How’s life, you bastard? I can’t believe you let your brother be taken out to save your ass. What a man,” I heard my dad sarcastically ask as he rolled his eyes at the bastard.
“He’s the scaredy-cat who ran off and let his mate and brother be killed? I thought he would be larger than life, but he looks like a piss ant to me,” Kaiden informed our dad as the rest of us laughed.
The bastard started yelling out a bunch of crap. ‘I’m going to kill you’ or ‘you’re all toast’, but my personal favorite was when he asked, ‘What are you going to do to me?’ I wondered how he survived as long as he had. The man was stupid. It was as if he lost his sanity when he killed his first mate. Why he was given a second chance mate I will never know. He had killed a great mate - his first one, not the bitch. Our mom had told us all about this ‘man’ and what he did to our caring, sweet, loving aunt. She had hidden nothing from us in case this idiot showed back up.
And, show up he did.
Finally.
“What are we going to do to you?” I heard my dad ask the bastard sarcastically. “Really? What the fuck do you think is going to happen to you, you idiot?” I watched him take a deep breath. “What? You think I’m just going to let you go?”
“Well, yeah,” I heard the idiot say, causing every one of us to laugh.
“Do you think the Royal Alpha King and Queen are going to let you go knowing how much of a shit-storm you’ve caused, huh?”
I watched the idiot turn his head towards me and gasp. “Royal Alpha King?” He shakily asked as I rolled my eyes.
“No, I’m Casper,” I sarcastically answered as we all chuckled as his face went the color of paste. “Maybe I should call you Casper.”
He growled at me as I smiled and let loose with a growl of my own. The ground shook, the trees swayed and his face got even more translucent. But, he didn’t have time to process my growl before Kat let out a growl of her own, literally, scaring the piss out of the bastard.
“Daddy, why did he pee his pants?” I heard Chase innocently ask, his eyes twinkling.
“Because he’s a baby bas, uh, he’s a baby butt-head,” I heard my dad explain to Chase as I smirked at him.
“So, what are we going to do with this baby, uh, butt-head?” I asked, smirking at my dad as I grunted. “Or, the witches with him. Show yourselves. Now witches!”
I looked around me and smirked. We were surrounded by the witches. I could tell they were tired from all the spells they had tried to throw at all of us. I could see a couple of them trying to break away from the spell they were under, women who didn’t want to harm us.
I broke the spell on six of the witches and watched as they fainted, no one helping to ease them on the ground. I dusted off my hands and looked at the rest of them. “Stay there for a moment. I will get to you in a few minutes. Stop your useless spells!” I ordered and turned back to the bastard.
Well, I didn’t need to worry about the bastard anymore, my dad took care of him when the witches showed, but I wanted to make sure his body couldn’t be brought back. “Chase, take this butt-head to the nearest volcano.” I cocked my head. “Or, send him to hell, I’m sure they will take him,” I smirked at the witches. “I wonder if the shadow demons would like to take the witches too?” The witches’ eyes widened, they started shaking and gasping, trying to answer my question.
One of the more brave or stupid souls stepped up, narrowing her eyes on me. “You don’t have the power to send us to hell, you idiot!”
I nodded my head to Chase, teleporting the six witches, who were forced to join, a safe distance away. I cocked my head to the side and laughed. I laughed hard. “Really? I don’t have the power to send you to hell? I guess we will ask the shadow demons then, right Sam?”
It didn’t take long for the shadow demon to take Sam with him. She was screaming and begging, but it wasn’t my choice anymore. She knew the rules when she started using black magic. She knew how it would darken her soul, but she decided it was exciting, powerful, fun even. I never understood how someone would willingly give up their soul, but witches did every day. It was sad to see the witches do this to themselves. I knew some of them were in a family of black witches but they could have refused to turn their souls as black as night.
I heard a scream from behind me, making me jerk around. I needed to pay attention to my surroundings or I could be in trouble. I noticed the vampyres screaming and trying to drag their feet. Well, I didn’t think about the shadow demons taking the vampyres with them too. Maybe I should have but I was tired and hungry, wanting to spend time with my mate and needing to check on my mom.
“I’m going to check on your mom, okay?” My dad asked me. I nodded my head, letting him know I would be there in a few. I knew I had a lot of clean up to do. I didn’t want to leave any of my men in this field. It wasn’t proper, nor was it the will of the Moon Goddess for these men to be treated as trash.
I sighed and brought Kat to my chest as I sniffed her neck to calm down. I wasn’t sure why my wolf was going crazy, but he was and something was up.
“What’s going on?” I asked Moon, my wolf as I watched him growl and snarl.
A/N: Oops, I did it again. I just had to stop it because the next chapter is going to funny, sad, and sarcastic. Thanks for reading. Please don't forget to like my book if you do.
