Recap

“Yes, Royal Alpha King. Call Ashlyn, she’s excellent with children. She used to watch the pups of the Alpha’s when they were in meetings,” Sandra suggested as she hugged her mate, Tyler, to her.

“Thank you, Sandra. Go get to know your mate, okay? Tyler, you’re dismissed for the day.” He nodded as I teleported to the cells.

I showed up, listening to the cursing and yelling coming from the cells, causing me to snicker. I felt when Windy and Kat showed up. I smirked at them as they snickered at the men, too.

We walked to the ’Alpha’s’ cell first. “Why the hell am I in a cell?” He asked, yelling out to anyone who could hear him.

Sonny’s POV

“Quiet!” I yelled as I came around the corner of his cell. “You are here to answer for your actions.”

“What actions? I’m a great Alpha!” He yelled back when I released him from my order of quiet.

I rolled my eyes at the fucker. “What actions? Really, you’re going to go there?” I asked as I shook my head at his stupidity. “How about your actions of taking mates of Alphas and Elders. You know, the ones you have stashed in other packs.”

“What are you talking about? I have a mate, why would I take other mates?” He asked as he ducked his head.

I turned and looked at his mate, Sky. “Did you know he was cheating on you with that witch?” I turned to point at her but the witch wasn’t in the cell anymore. What the hell? Great.

Fucktastic

She turned around and looked at her mate. “You. Cheated. On. Me?”

“Uh, no? Why would I cheat when I have a mate like you?” He questioned, not sounding as if he didn't believe in his own words.

“You cheated. I know your tells and right now they are working overtime. How did you get away with me not knowing or feeling you...Oh, the witch,” she spat at him as she turned around and left the cells.

“Got yourself in a little problem, did you? I’ll see you at court tomorrow,” I sarcastically said as I spelled all the cells, making sure they couldn’t get out as the witch did.

Now, what the fuck do I do about the damn witch? I should have thought about what she would do if she was put in a cell. I knew she was evil incarnate. The witch and the devil would get along famously.

“Come on, mate, let’s go and check on our people. I know we have a lot of work to do. Can I help you today?” My beautiful mate pulled me away from my thoughts and outside of the cells.

“You want to help me go through all the paperwork and get this Royal Pack back to rights? Honey, it’s a lot of paperwork,” I gently asked her, wanting her to know how much work there was to go through.

My mate stopped and cupped my jaw. “I can help more than you think. Paperwork is not a problem for me and it won’t be a problem for you either.”

I leaned down and kissed her lips quickly and grabbed her hand. “Come on then. I want you to see what I’m talking about, plus, I would love to spend the day with you even if it’s doing paperwork.”

After making sure the Elders were okay we walked into our office. I pulled Kat to me, her back to my front, showing her all of the paperwork.

“Oh my, it is a lot of paperwork.” She shrugged. “We can handle it. What are you looking for anyway?”

“I need to find the pack accounts and put these." I pointed to another few stacks. "Together by each name so I can file them. It’s going to take for…” I stopped talking as the paperwork started flying in the air and separating into piles all by themselves.

I looked down at my mate in awe. Why I didn’t think about doing the same I would never know. As the paperwork settled down we had almost fifty piles. I lifted one finger and pointed at a pile, watching the pile separating by date.

“Show off,” my mate sing-songed, making me laugh at her words.

“You are incredible, but now these need to be filed and I need to go through the finances. Think you could help with the filing. There aren’t any tabs ready, but it should be easy to do. What do you think?” I hugged her to me, wanting more, a lot more.

“Let’s get to work. I don’t know about you but I would love to spend some time alone with my mate before we need to sleep for court tomorrow. I meant to ask you about the warriors and pack members, who are at our borders. What’s going on with them?”

I was startled out of my thoughts of sex. “How did you know they were at borders?” I asked, turning her around in my arms.

“I felt it. My wolf told me they were not here for our kind of party but to get their people out of the cells, so what’s going to happen to them?” She asked gently. I could tell she was worried there would be innocent members mixed in with the rest of the wolves, but I wasn’t so sure.

“Well, they can’t kidnap them if they are in their own cells." I smiled as if I was a Chesire cat. "It’s okay, Kat, I will make sure there are no innocents in the cells. I had to confine them before they hurt a lot of people. They wanted to kill the Elders, their mates, their children, and the Royal family. I couldn’t have them causing trouble for everyone,” I explained, ending in a softer tone.

“I know, Sonny.” She paused and turned to look at me. “Does this mean we can go get the other mates out of their cells and kill the bastards who were guarding them?” She shook her head. “You know he took the women somewhere else, don’t you?”

“Yes. They are in the process of being rescued right now, okay? Let’s get this done so we can check in with everyone, okay?” I asked, hoping she wouldn’t be mad about not getting to go help.

She nodded her head and started walking over to the file cabinets. But, I pulled her back to me, turning her around again, and kissing her. I could tell she was flustered and turned on. I could smell her arousal and it wasn’t helping mine.

“Mate, mate, mate. Come on, Sonny, paperwork can wait until after we mate,” my wolf chanted as he jumped up and down in the back of my mind, growling at me for not moving.

“No! We need to get this mess cleared up or we will never get it done. You can wait for a couple of hours, you horndog.” I watched as my wolf showed me his teeth at my comment and laid down.

I took a huge breath in and walked over to my desk, trying with everything in me not to take Kat on my desk.

Paperwork

I sat down and opened the first folder, looking through it, but not really understanding it at the moment. My mind was so far away from work, thanks to my wolf, that I knew I wouldn’t understand a word of the finances.

Fuck it!

I teleported my paperwork to my work table and my mate to me. “What?” She squeaked out as I pulled her into my arms, spelling the room against teleporters and the door against any visitors trying to come in.

“Finally,” I breathed out.

A/N: Not really a cliffhanger, but I couldn't start the next chapter and ruin my surprise. Lol. Thanks for reading.
