From A Prisoner To A Big Short’s Inheritor

Chapter 64

Chapter 64
People from the Loftus family came, and Willie welcomed them in personally.
The butler standing at the forefront looked at Kenia and spoke.
“You must be Ms. Kenia Barton, right? I’m here to make an apology on behalf of the Loftus family. Emily has been expelled from
the family for slandering you publicly.
“It’s not convenient for Mr. Loftus to come here because of his physical injury, so I’m here to apologize to Ms. Barton.
“This is a check for six million dollars. I hope Ms. Barton accepts it.”
What he said made everyone in the Barton family dumbfounded.
Corrie’s face flushed suddenly.
Just now, she made wild claims, saying that if the Loftus family came to apologize, she would have the same surname as
Leonard.
She didn’t expect the reversal to come so quickly.
With the status of the Loftus family, how could they bow their heads and admit their mistakes?
Willie, Flora, Jarrett, and the others were all dumbfounded on the spot.
Kenia herself felt that her mind was a mess.
Rumor had it that the Barton family was about to meet its doom. How came the Loftus family came around to apologize instead
of taking revenge?
What on earth was it?

“It was all our fault. I hope Ms. Barton will accept the check and the apology.
“Mr. Loftus also said that if you had other requests, we would satisfy them, too.”
Seeing that Kenia didn’t take the check, the butler thought it was because the amount was too little, so he added.
“We did really come to apologize.”
Kenia accepted the check in a daze.
Everyone was at a loss, subconsciously looking at Leonard.
Flora asked, “Leonard, what’s going on?”
Leonard explained, “Mr. Evans is fair and just and does not bend the law for personal gain. This is naturally Mr. Evans’ intention.
The Loftus family dare not disobey.”
The housekeeper immediately looked at Leonard with a little more awe and then realized that the young man, who seemed
nothing special, was the one who almost brought the Loftus family to their knees.
Leonard said coldly, “The check has been accepted, as well as the apology. Go back and tell Mr. Loftus, if he thinks it unfair, he
knows where to find me.”

These words presented everyone startled.
How dare he speak harsh words to the Loftus family openly?
They apologize because of the Governor, not because of you, Leonard.
The butler smiled all over his face and said, “Thank you, Mr. Santos, for your generosity. We will never do such things!
“If Mr. Santos has no other orders, I will take my leave.”
The butler quietly wiped the cold sweat off his brow and said.
Although Leonard stood calmly before him, it still made him feel an invisible pressure.
His calm gaze and the deep eyes, especially, made him tremble with fear.
Leonard nodded.
He didn’t like the Loftus family,
“Then I take my leave first”
The butler left with his subordinates.

The room was silent for minutes.
Everyone was still in shock.
Corrie’s face was livid. She was happy that the Barton family was safe.
But thinking of what she said to Leonard just now, she just felt her face being slapped.
The Loftus family really came to apologize; she was like a clown.
It was the second time she had lost her face in front of Leonard.
Willie heaved a sigh of relief.
This disaster had passed so quickly.
He was already prepared to go bankrupt.
And there was an extra six million dollars. When he thought of the
his money,
eyes lit up.
Although the Barton family had a company, the scale was too small.
Six million dollars was already a large sum of money to him.
Kenia finally came to her senses, looking at the check in her trembling hands.
“Uncle, with these six million dollars, it will be enough to make a wedding gift for Kenia in the future.”
Leonard said.

“And Kenia, just some advice for you. Marrying into a wealthy family isn’t always a good choice.
“Emily was kicked out immediately when she made mistakes, with nothing left, so it’s better to find someone who loves and
cares about you.”
Hearing this, Kenia nodded.
“Leonard, you are right.”
Corrie was dissatisfied.
“Leonard, they bow their heads because of Mr. Evans. Why are you pretending to be a good person here?
“And you started giving lessons. You came out of prison and didn’t have a job. You wander around every day. Are you qualified to
teach others?”
“Better than you. You know nothing but talking sh it, right?” scoffed Leonard.
Corrie almost exploded with anger.
“Okay, we’re all family. No more quarrel.”
Willie spoke at this time.
He was taught a lesson by Leonard just now; as an elder anyway, he felt embarrassed.
But it was a blessing in disguise. He got six million dollars for nothing, so he was still in a good mood.
At this time, Jarrett took the phone and said, “Look, the Loftus family has already apologized publicly in the media. It was Emily,
the evil-minded daughter-in-law of the Loftus family. She deliberately framed Kenia.
“As the news came out, our lost businesses would return soon.”
Hearing Jarrett’s words, the Barton family was beaming with joy.
At the same time, Willie’s cell phone rang.
“Willie, congratulations! I didn’t expect my judgment to be wrong. I’m really sorry. To express my apology and celebrate the
Barton family’s survival, how about I treat your family to dinner at the Pearl Restaurant?”
The call was from Yule.
“Okay.”
Willie didn’t want to take away his kindness. There would be much cooperation between the two families in the future.
“Mr. Patel wants to treat guests at the Pearl Restaurant. Let’s go together.”
Willie said.
Soon, the whole family came to the restaurant.

Before entering, Leonard’s cell phone rang, and it was Waylon calling.

“Mr. Santos, the jadeite auction sold a total of 1.4 billion yesterday, and I’ll send you your
“Yeah, thank you so much, Mr. Lambert.”
share.”
Leonard was delighted. He would have 420 million dollars, which was earned with his hands.
A banquet had been set up.
“The Loftus family held a press conference to prove Kenia’s innocence, and Emily was kicked out. It is really worth celebrating.
“Thanks so much to Mr. Evans’ righteousness; everything has been settled. Today, we are here to celebrate the Barton family’s
survival and to further our cooperation.”
Yule raised his wine glass and laughed loudly.
“Thanks for today’s treat, and I wish our two companies better and better.”
Willie also said happily, raised his glass, and drank it down.
“Congratulations, Kenia.”
Judy raised her wine glass and toasted Kenia.
After drinking a glass of wine, her face flushed, making her more adorable.
She spoke again, “Leonard, can I sit by your side?”
When these words came out, the lively atmosphere suddenly became cold.
Everyone was stunned. “What does Judy mean by this? Is she interested in Leonard?”
But her father, Yule, was unhappy.
Yule was surprised that Leonard knew Waylon. But he recalled the situation at the banquet. Leonard was so reckless. Such a
person could easily cause trouble; he would not be a good son-in-law.
Yule thought her daughter was too bold to show her affection to a man in front of so many people.
“Judy, just sit here.”
Lily Patel, Judy’s mother, said, taking her arm and dragging her back to the chair.
Just as Judy sat down, she raised her glass again.
“Leonard, I would like to toast you. You are a hero this time.”
When the words fell, Corrie said, “What kind of hero is he? He knows only how to cause trouble. The Barton family might be
doomed now if it hadn’t for Mr. Evans’ righteousness. He is nothing but a bas ta rd. Don’t be deceived by him, Judy.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
Jarrett tugged at his wife’s clothes and tried to stop her. Corrie was a good woman, except her words knew how to kill. Willie was
silent shortly and said, “You can’t blame Corrie for her words, Leonard. It would be best if you restrained your temper sometimes.
You met and knew Mr. Lambert by luck and feel you are not afraid of the world.
“If you keep doing things like this, you will have to go to prison again sooner or later.”

Flora was a little unhappy and wanted to speak but was stopped by Kenia.
Yule also said, “Leonard, I have heard things about you. When you were young, you were impulsive, chose the wrong path, and
went to prison. It doesn’t mean anything. Who hasn’t been passionate?
“It’s just that you are not young anymore. It’s time to mature, and you should think twice before leaping.
“Don’t blame me for being straightforward. With your conditions, you don’t deserve my daughter.”
“I don’t have any thoughts...”
Leonard wanted to defend himself.
“Alright.”
But Yule stopped him.
“You don’t need to say. My daughter is beautiful and has a good family background. It’s normal for you to fall in love with her, but
just keep it a secret in your heart.”

“Did you hear that, Leonard? Yule is teaching you how to behave.”
Corrie opened her mouth and echoed. The two of them made Leonard sound worthless.
“That’s enough.”
Kenia couldn’t stand it anymore.
Just then, a group of people sitting not far away suddenly stood up. The chairs creaked against the ground.
They approached. The head man was combed with a large back, draped in a suit, with a toothpick in his mouth. His eyes
viciously swept over them.
“Can you guys keep your voice down while eating? You guys are so noisy. Do you want to die?”
“Who are you?”
As the host, Yule was alert and angry.
The man spit the toothpick out of his mouth, and it just dropped into a soup bowl on the table.
He squinted at Yule.
“The boss of the Rockets Company is my buddy. Who do you think I am?”
