Chapter 10
Thanksgiving 2003 was the day Mesi Ali disappeared as well…
Sol and Mesi found their oasis near the Salton Sea at the Oasis Palms RV Park. Someone in the underground recommended that they live in this trailer park until things cool down.
Mesi’s parents collected her things knowing that the Rainbows were watching. Nothing sat well with this Kingdom America with those who were paying attention. The family of Sol and Mesi filed missing person’s reports only to hear that Sol was a suspect in the escape of a known seditionist sentenced to death and the failure to carry out his duty…Sol was wanted for Treason against the Crown of Kingdom America.
Some of the contacts they made with the Free America movement or the underground, were able to contact their parents. Mesi’s family placed her and Sol’s things in a Public Storage in La Habra where they were able to coordinate with the underground to fake a break-in. The underground bribed the owner of the Public Storage for the keys and faked some video records allowing the theft of Sol and Mesi’s things and other storage units. This was done as a way to steal things of no value or steal nothing at all to hide the actual intent. The intent was to disguise the moving of Sol and Mesi’s things as a robbery of the Public Storage. The underground took most of the contents of the unit containing Sol’s things while stealing a couple of things from the other units or making a mess of the unit so that it seemed that it had been searched and nothing of value was found. So that Sol and Mesi could live in hiding without having to replace their belongings.
By July 2004 they were sent a letter with keys to a rental home, and fake identification. Strangely, they were sent multiple California, Arizona, and Mexico identifications and a permanent resident or what people often call Green cards.
“If things get bad go to Mexico…if things get better go to Orange County, California. Give the rent to the neighbors across the street, Daniel Sanzio.”
The California identification cards had an address in Imperial California, one city north of El Centro and south of the Salton Sea. 313 North G Street, Imperial, California 92251 was the return address and the address used on one set of identification cards.
When Mesi and Sol arrived, the house was furnished with their stuff and more…the closets and chest of drawers were filled with their clothes and new clothes in their sizes.
The new Social Security cards helped them find work…
Some people have a hard time trusting others and doing as they are told...this wasn’t the case with Mesi and Sol who were given a list of places nearby where to find employment.
The Rainbow Corps patrolled the area like anywhere else in Kingdom America since martial law had become permanent and the King’s Guard Corps…the Royal Police or whatever their titles were changed to the Rainbow Corps. The idea of the Rainbow Corps or Coalition blurred the lines between fascist shock troops and friendly neighborhood police officers…like a Barney Fife or Andy Griffin stereotype replaced by a mask-wearing, assault-rifle-toting anonymous militarized police officer. Something out of a Judge Dredd comic book but far more horrific because of the reality of being killed for a peaceful antigovernment protest…Jay Walking or running a red light…stepping out of line or on a crack in the sidewalk.
