Forgive me

Chapter 8 Truth

He looked at her, as she approached, lightly and shyly, while he removed one hand from his hips, running it through his wet hair, and instantly tingles passed through her, and when he approached her, smiling at her, he grabbed her hand, she lost herself in his deep gaze, and feelings she didn’t even know existed.

All of a sudden, all hell broke loose, and before she knew it, Arden pushed her behind him, and she could feel his tense muscles and anger when she looked up and met a pair of familiar, cold, gray eyes, from which hatred was emanating.

His eyes shone like the brightest sun, but the coldness was incomprehensible, while he held her little girl in his arms, who was looking at her terrified, holding Khan’s hand with his hand, with which he covered her mouth so that she would not cry out for help.

Derek’s arms wrapped tightly around her, preventing her from moving, and even though she was an Alpha and stronger than him, she didn’t have the strength to resist, too shocked, and suddenly a whole squad of fighters from the pack formed, ready to fight with the rogues, no one moved without Alpha’s orders, and Arden didn’t want to do anything that might hurt Hope and Emma.

“Brother, we meet again, but this time in much better circumstances,” Khan said from the shore, then, laughing cynically, dropped the girl into the water.

Emma froze at the sight in front of her eyes, looking at the Khans who let her know that they would meet again, soon, before he disappeared, while the fighters were already having a big fight nearby, and Arden from the water, in his arms carried the lifeless body of Hope.

She saw him revive her, as he begged her to breathe and not give up, she could also hear cars and shout in the distance, but that was all she remembered before the blackness took over her.

She tore herself from Derek’s arms and ran to Arden, who gently handed her the still dazed but alive Hope, which she held to her chest, letting him carry them both to the car.

He didn’t let them out of his sight for a moment, nor did he let the doctor out of his way as he examined them both, sitting by both of them the whole time while they were receiving infusions in the hospital bed, and Hope never let go of his big hand from hers, not even for a moment, looking at him with her big gray eyes.

Emma could see the look of worry and guilt on his face as he tried his best to avoid her gaze, but honestly, now that she knew the real truth, she couldn’t say she wasn’t surprised, but she wasn’t taken aback, as doubt was eating at her when she saw the connection between him and Hope.

Hope fell asleep at last, in Arden’s arms, with her little one clinging tight, around his neck, and it was hard for him to put her down in her bed, afraid of waking her, but she just turned over and continued to sleep peacefully, and he tucked her in, stroking her hair, and gently closed the door behind him.

He slowly approached their room, to make sure that Ema was okay and sleeping, but when he entered, he saw that the bed was empty, and when he turned, she was standing next to him, looking at him tired and guilt-ridden, and when he turned abruptly to leave, her hand stopped him, and he only looked down at her, still not looking Emma in the eye.

“Why don’t you want to look at me?“, she asked him in a low voice.

“You know why,” he said bitterly.

“Today you learned the truth because I don’t want you to look at me like him,” he said, as he walked away from her, looking out the window thoughtfully, into the distance.

“How do you know, the way I look at you when you don’t even want to look me in the eyes?“, she asked him, trying to hold back her tears and anger at the same time.

“Emma,” he began, but her serious and angry voice interrupted him. prevented him from saying anything. “You’re forgetting one thing,” she said in a warning tone as she walked up to him, making him flinch.

“I’m an Alpha too, and I can do everything you can, if not more,” she said, pouncing on him without warning, knocking him onto the bed.

Surprised, tired, and taken aback, he looked into her bright blue eyes, in which he saw everything but hatred, while her teeth slowly dug into his neck, filling him with hitherto unknown feelings, and while she lightly licked the wound, they could are finally able to feel and see everything that they both lived through and what they feel, before the darkness around them arose.

She slowly went to Hope’s room, so as not to wake up the exhausted Arden, to make sure she was okay, but it was still very early and the little girl was sleeping peacefully, in a sound sleep, while Emma tucked her in just a little more, smiling, as she closed the door.

The bed was empty when she opened the door to their room, which scared her for a moment, but she quickly came back to reality, seeing him coming out of the bathroom, wrapped only in a towel.

They were both confused for a moment, not knowing what to say, but he got the hang of it first.

“Yesterday I didn’t have time to take a shower, I’ll leave quickly, just to change,” he said, walking towards the closet.

She slowly approached him, still only in her see-through nightgown, which she didn’t realize, but he did.

“What if I don’t want you to go?” she asked him.

“You saw everything and now you know everything, that we are connected, that we are brothers,” he breathed out, leaning his hands on the wardrobe. “

What’s that supposed to mean, that you’re like him?“, she challenged him, looking for any reaction. His body tensed, with rage.

“I’m not like him!” he hissed, turning abruptly.

“No, you are not,” she whispered, watching his eyes grow darker, and she was so close to him, that she could feel his heart beating fast.

“I’m me,” he whispered, moving closer to her.

“Yes, you are you, only you,” her voice was barely audible, but not to him when he lifted her into his arms and gently placed his lips on hers.
