Forgive me

Chapter 6 Alliance

Luna Sara looked at her husband, Alpha Mason, with understanding.

She was walking slowly away from the office, with the excuse that she would make them coffee, for which she knew she would wait a little longer, considering that she wanted to leave the two men to talk about everything in a more relaxed and private manner, at least as far as Alpha Arden was concerned.

Although she would find out all the facts anyway, she wasn’t ready to immediately face the new facts that were related to Emma and Hope, knowing that all this would affect the lives of all of them.

“Khan is 5 years older than me, but our parents always called us twins because of the similarity that couldn’t be explained.”

“You know how Alpha can feel their Mate earlier, and that day, when the boundaries were attacked he was learning how to take over the title from our father, so he stayed longer in the office.”

" When he heard what’s happened, he came, and on the spot, he found father, his beta, and dead rogues, among whom was his Mate.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever forget that look in his eyes, nor that day, when I think my brother simply disappeared, leaving in his place someone another vengeful man.”

“That mate of his was marked by rogue and pregnant with a child, which was her’s choice because for her child she would have stopped fighting, yet she didn’t.”

“She was defending her chosen mate after he was dead, but Khan didn’t want to see that.”

“He was plotting, against our father, who wouldn’t budge against his older son sensing his restlessness.”

“However, I don’t think he knew how to deal with loss, nor did he want help, and his anger applied to everyone, including me, especially when he was eventually kicked out and removed from the pack and then he killed his father and beta, and you know what the punishment is for that.”

“He was getting stronger to the limit, connected with witches, and killed our parents while I was at school, and he found out through the same, powerful witch that followed him, that Emma was my Mate.“ Arden stopped as he touched nervously his hair.

“I can’t believe you didn’t say anything to me, and you were like the brother I never had.”

“I could have helped you, not only then, but now, before all this shit, not when both packs are in danger, and who knows how many more!” he shouted angrily at Arden.

“My burden is mine alone, Mason, I didn’t wish that same to anyone else,” Arden replied calmly, but his voice was far than calm.

Mason shook his head, forcing himself to laugh.

“So what do you want from me now?“, he asked calmly.

“I admit when I’m wrong, especially when it’s about my long-lost brother, who now has to decide whether he wants help or not, regardless of Emma and Hope, who I know you love as your own because it’s my duty, and a lot more than I care to admit, to protect them, and I’ll do it with or without you.”

He declared, standing up.

The two men looked at each other, while the tension fell through the office.

“You should have just asked me, man.” Mason looked at him.

“You have an ally, for life.” He smiled and gave his hand to Arden which he gratefully took, giving him a meaningful look, and shaking hands with him.

“There’s something important that you need to know, Mason, and why Khan is even more dangerous if he finds out,” Arden said seriously while Mason looked at him, confused, waiting for his friend to surprise him with nothing good.

“Khan is Hope’s biological father.” He said that sentence so hard, and so fast, as if he didn’t want to believe it either, leaving a pale Mason in wonder when both men were surprised by the sound of broken cups and Sara’s horrified look.

He nervously bent himself down, picking up the broken remains.

She sobbed softly, because of what she had just found out because as Luna, she couldn’t let others feel her grief, nor put them in greater danger.

Mason lifted her, taking her in his arms and, beckoning Omega to come with new coffee and clean up.

They all slowly drank the coffee together, having a hard time going down their throats, in silence, as if each of them was trying to find the right words.

“I don’t understand, how someone can be such a monster, and I’m sorry that this applies to your brother, but I think he doesn’t care that Hope is his daughter,” Sara finally spoke, addressing Arden.

His face turned pale and he clenched his jaw.

“Biological father, Emma is mine, only mine, just like Hope is my daughter and no one will take them away from me, as long as there’s a shred of life in me, I will destroy anyone who tries!“ He hissed, clenching his fists while he was throwing dangerous sparks from his dark eyes.

“Arden,” Mason warned him and pulled Sarah closer to him.

“You don’t think when she finds out that things will be simpler, given your behavior towards her and the way you took her away?“ Sara was persistent.

“Sara, please... ” Mason began when Arden intervened and raised his hand, to stop him.

“Nothing can change that fact and I’m aware of it, but I’ll try to make it right, even if it takes my whole life to do it. ”

“The way and reason I took her, I did it to protect them both, because as soon as I saw Hope, I was suspicious, because part of me was pulling me to her.”

" It’s true that Emma will probably never forgive me, and that she probably sees a monster in me, the same monster that hurt her, but I’m ready for it, as long as she’s safe and when the danger stops, she’ll have a choice to decide for herself, I won’t stop her.”

He answered coldly, looking into the distance.

“I think you’re being a little unfair to yourself my friend, and maybe to Emma as well,” Mason said.

“You are soulmates, you need each other, don’t you think Emma is not worth it?” he asked Arden, as he pressed his lips together still in deep thought.

“She’s worth everything no doubt about it, ...but the problem is me.” His voice sounded cold now, but his eyes showed deep sadness.

Sara stood up angrily, heading for the door, and stopped abruptly turning around.

Sara was restless.

She was remembering her own cruel Alpha Rodan, who made her suffer the worst thing that was possible, as an omega at the Dark Pack, where she was living, as an orphan.

She was beaten, tortured, and hungry, but the worst of all was when Luna Denise gave her ring to her lover and accused Sara that she stole it, then that happened.

They throw her to the dungeon and she is abused by beating, all by Alpha himself.

He hit her with a final blow to her belly, and she lost consciousness, and she only remembers finding herself in Mason’s arms, the next day.

He was visiting her Pack, to find some rogues that invaded his territory, and it was pure luck that he entered the dungeon and found her there.

He was mad as hell and almost killed Rodan, but he restrained his temper and broke all bonds with Rodan’s Pack forever, looking at them as enemies, from then.

“You know, Arden, being a coward is one thing, but being so convinced that someone like Emma isn’t worthy of fight and love, it’s really low, especially from a man who should be doing it and proving his whole life.” She turned, slamming the door, leaving Mason, not as surprised as Arden was, but he seemed more upset and hurt, but surprised.

“I’ll call you as soon as I hear anything new.”

He told Mason, clearing his throat and storming out.
