Chapter 179

Jaden had anonymously sent the evidence to the phones of Frank and his family of three. They were having dinner, but none of them had the appetite to take a bite.

“What are we going to do now! We’ve missed such a good opportunity. If you ask me, we should just let it go. Your son has become too capable; he can’t be toppled. We might as well take the money and go abroad. After all, the business is almost done for- Before Rose could finish speaking. Frank slammed the table heavily.

“As long as I’m around, the Watson family’s business will continue!” Frank snapped.

Many years ago, he had approached Jaden’s grandfather about starting a business, hoping for some financial support. The man had scoffed at him, pointing a finger at him and saying he wasn’t cut out for business. Frank had been resentful ever since, trying to prove himself in every way possible. Even Jaden’s mother had advised him against it, suggesting if he must, he should start small and not expect quick riches.

But Frank was adamant that if he was going to do it, he had to go big–high risk meant high returns! For years, he had been losing money, and his frustration and embarrassment had only grown. For a man, pride was everything. He still had billions on hand, enough to revive a company. He wasn’t finished yet..

“Dad, you should save that money for me to get married! Our quality of life doesn’t need to drop. I’ll marry early and give you a grandchild sooner. Simon Insisted.

“That money is for investment. None of you can touch it,” Frank said firmly.

“Frank, take the easy way out before you’re left with no choice. Are you really cut out for business? If it weren’t for Jaden’s mother’s assets, you’d be living under a bridge by now!” Rose said derisively. “Can’t you just accept your fate? You’re not getting any younger. You’re over fifty already and still

“If you were capable, you would’ve made your fortune years ago. Instead, you’ve been leeching off others!”

Rose had lost her patience. She was unwilling to see their last hope squandered on an endless pit of business failures. Frank had no business acumen but refused to admit it.

Furious, Frank swung his fist in anger. “Bitch, what did you say?”

Rose threw her chopsticks down. “What, do you want to hit me? I’m not someone you can push around like Jaden’s mother, I know all about the disgraceful things you’ve done over the years. If you dare lay a finger on me, we’ll get a divorce. Not only will I ruin your reputation, but I’ll also take Two–thirds of your money with our son!”

“Dad. I’m with Mom on this. Stop messing around. The more you play with the money, the less there’ll be Simon chimed in,

As the three of them were locked in a standoff, their phones rang simultaneously. The perfectly synchronized tones startled them. They exchanged glances before checking their phones, which displayed several photos.

Simon’s eyes widened as he saw the photos. He threw his phone away as if it were a hot potato. “No… this can’t be…”

“How could this happen?” Rose also remembered.

“Who is this girl?” Frank sensed something was amiss. “Have you all been hiding something from me?”

Before Frank could get a response from Rose, his phone rang. It was Jaden calling. He had an ominous feeling. “You ungrateful son, what are you planning?”

Jaden demanded, “According to the black–market statistics, the last batch of antiques you sold fetched 296 million dollars. I want all of it back. If I don’t see the money before dawn, Simon will go to jail. He won’t make it out alive. The Watson family will be left without an heir”

“Simon isn’t worth that much!” Frank gritted his teeth.

“Do as you please. If you don’t give me the money tomorrow, I’ll find a way to get it back. It’s just a matter of time. Jaden’s voice was as cold as ice. After delivering the ultimatum, he was about to hang up-

Frank suddenly softened his tone. “Do we really have to do this, father and son? I’m your father. You carry my blood—”

“That’s why I’m so disgusted.” Jaden cut him off brusquely. “I don’t know what sins I committed in my past life to have a father like you.”

Frank was rendered speechless at Jaden’s harsh words.
