Chapter 87
Rylie glanced at Alexis. "Well, I'm not snitching."
Alexis reached out and tried to hug Scarlett, trying to muddle through.
Scarlett stopped her and looked at her askance with a faint smile. "Or would you prefer me to tell Justin about it?"
Alexis was instantly frightened.
Scarlett walked to the sofa and sat down. "Rylie?"
Rylie hadn't wanted to hide it from Scarlett. Things like this had happened several times. Now that Scarlett asked, Rylie directly answered, "Alexis endorsed the skin care products of the Cocanel Corporation last year. Cocanel is very satisfied with Alexis. A few days ago, when the contract expired, they contacted us and wanted to talk about this year's endorsement contract. Yet their marketing manager called me this morning, saying that they're not going to renew Alexis' contract this year."
Scarlett grunted and glanced at Alexis. "What happened?"
Rylie, who had been an agent for so many years, couldn't help saying angrily, "Nylah! The head of Cocanel is close to the James family. Didn't Nylah win
two awards last night? She asked a lot of paid posters to malign Alexis."
In fact, the competitions for endorsements were very common in the showbiz. If Nylah's behavior was directed against someone else, Scarlett wouldn't care. However, Nylah was bullying Alexis, then Scarlett wouldn't sit idly by.
The showbiz was filled with intrigue and calculation. Although Alexis and Nylah were not on good terms, they pretended to be old friends in public.
Many people didn't know that Nylah grabbed the endorsement with the help of the James family. Alexis couldn't openly accuse Nylah, though disgusted by Nylah many times. However, it didn't mean that she couldn't teach Nylah a lesson. Nylah was relying on the James family.
Scarlett created an e-commerce platform five years ago, and the James family's clothing company wanted to cooperate with this platform. They were now negotiating. Rylie didn't know it, but Alexis did.
Alexis didn't want to let Scarlett know because she thought that would make things difficult for Scarlett, while Rylie wanted to let Scarlett know because she felt there was no matter that Scarlett couldn't solve. After that, Scarlett looked at Alexis. "I said you are a good-for-nothing. Now you've proved it."
"Scarlett..."
Scarlett grunted. "What are you afraid of? Stephen is now in charge of the James family. Doesn't Ralph have to rely on Stephen?"
Alexis' eyes lit up. "You seem to have a point."
Scarlett laughed. "Stupid!"
She glanced at Rylie. "There is no need to hide these things from me in the future."
Rylie smiled. "Alexis asked me to keep it a secret."
Seeing how Scarlett reacted, Rylie knew that this matter could be solved. Rylie sensibly took her leave." I'll go and do my things first. Ms. Reed, you can talk to Alexis."
The endorsement was not a big deal to Alexis. With her current status, she had many good chances.
Yet Nylah was so despicable, always scheming against her. Alexis couldn't stand it, nor did Rylie.
Rylie didn't expect the endorsement to be snatched back. As long as Scarlett could teach Nylah a lesson so that she wouldn't do such things again, it was okay.
After Rylie left, there were only Alexis and Scarlett in the office. Scarlett threw the documents that she just got to Alexis. "You are better than me at exposing scandals. Pick a good day. Let's send a gift to Julie." Scarlett sat on the sofa, smiling gently and charmingly.
Alexis quickly looked through the documents. Her eyes widened. "Julie is really something!"
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "I was cheated by her."
"Don't worry. She always buzzes around you like a fly. I'll give her a big blow!"
Julie turned out to be a person who loved to expose others' secrets.
Alexis was so indignant that she even forgot about her own matter.
Scarlett gave Alexis a look. "Aren't you very unhappy about losing the endorsement?"
"I wouldn't be so disgusted if someone else had snatched it!"
