Chapter 108 The Land
Camila’s hand trembled slightly as she recalled that someone had indeed pushed her into the water from behind that night.
The suffocating feeling underwater made her experience the sensation of near–death.
If it weren’t for Alan saving her, she would have died long ago.
Camila continued eating.
Svetla saw her indifferent and said, “You were right next to me that day, but Maxwell saved me first, which proves that I am the most important person in his heart.”
Camila forcefully put down the fork.
Just then, Dimon and Maxwell walked in.
“Camila, bring two more sets of cutlery. Dimon and Svetla will be joining us for dinner,” Maxwell said.
“I’m tired, I’m going back to the room first,” Camila got up and walked past Maxwell, heading straight out of the restaurant.
“What does she mean by this? Is she not welcoming us?” Svetla shouted.
“What did you just say to her?” Maxwell’s face darkened.
“What did I say?” Svetla felt particularly aggrieved.
“You guys go ahead and eat, I’ll go check on her,” Maxwell

room.
Camila lay on the bed, sulking.
“What’s wrong with you?” Maxwell half–lay next to Camila and poked her back.
“Go and accompany the guests,” Camila’s voice choked up.
“Why are you still crying?”
“I didn’t cry.”
Maxwell turned Camila’s face and saw that her eyes were red.
“You said you didn’t cry? Who made you upset?”
“You go, I don’t want to see you,” Camila grabbed the blanket and covered her head.
Maxwell reluctantly got up and returned to the restaurant.
“What happened to Camila?” Dimon asked.
“It’s okay, probably just tired,” Maxwell replied.
“Maxwell, I heard that Mr. Darley had a conversation with Mr. Bass that day, what was the outcome? Did Modiet Enterprise offer a much cheaper price compared to Conner
Consultancy?”
“I hadn’t inquired about this matter yet,” Maxwell mumbled while eating.
“Maxwell, were you also interested in the land in the south of the city?”

Maxwell squinted his cold eyes and said, “That piece of land was taken by Alan. Don’t you know?”
“Alan is going to make a move recently,” Dimon said with a smile.
“Take a shot?” Maxwell glanced at Dimon, “Are you interested?”
“I was somewhat interested, after all, there aren’t many locations as good as that. However, Alan is quite peculiar; if he doesn’t like someone, he won’t sell it no matter how much money they offer.”
“Did you talk to him?”
“A while ago, we just met, and the result was not satisfactory. Mainly because we had a conflict before,” Dimon spoke frankly. “Maxwell, I want you to take charge and secure that piece of land.”
“I didn’t have this idea at the moment,” Maxwell said.
“As long as you take the initiative to acquire the land, I will provide the money. Once you have obtained it, you can then sell it to me, and I will give you a 5% commission.”
Maxwell sneered, “You were quite calculating.”
Dimon smiled and said, “Maxwell, actually that piece of land used to belong to Starling Realty. Later, when Starling Realty went bankrupt, it was auctioned off to Alan. My father had an emotional attachment to Starling Realty, so he insisted on acquiring that piece of land.”
“I wanted to know what issue you had with Alan,” Maxwell put

Dimon glanced at Svetla and said, “Maxwell, this is a long story. I’ll tell you later. The urgent matter at hand is about this place. I heard that Alan has already arrived on the mainland. Do you have time to meet him?”
Maxwell nodded, “I will consider this matter.”
After dinner, Dimon left first.
Svetla sat in the study. Maxwell was busy working and didn’t say a word to her all day.
Svetla actively approached and placed her hand on Maxwell’s shoulder.
“Maxwell, take a break and chat with me.”
Maxwell pulled Svetla’s hand away and said, “If you’re bored, go find someone to go shopping with.”
“I don’t want to go shopping with anyone else, I just want you to accompany me, we can do anything.” Svetla pouted.
“Can’t you see how busy I was?” Maxwell replied impatiently.
“Can’t I wait for you to finish your work?” Svetla said, feeling aggrieved.
“I have been very busy recently.”
“Why do you have time to cook for Camila, but no time to spend with me?” Svetla complained.
Maxwell was really angry when it came to tonight’s incident. He rarely had the chance to be alone with Camila, but Svetla

“How many times have I told you, Camila is my wife, and it is only right for me to be with her. Don’t call me anymore unless it’s necessary, I don’t want her to misunderstand.”
“Maxwell, I just wanted to have a meal and watch a movie with you, why would she misunderstand? Can’t siblings even have a meal together?”

“You can do whatever you want.” Maxwell didn’t want to argue with her anymore, so he simply continued with his work.
Svetla sat for a while longer and was about to get up to leave when she saw Camila going out.
“Maxwell, Camila went out. It’s so late, where did she go?” Svetla instigated, “Could she be secretly going on a date?”
“Didn’t you really wish for her to cheat?” Maxwell said unkindly.
“I was just concerned about you. You misunderstood my good intentions,” Svetla glared at Maxwell, grabbed her bag, and
ran off.
As soon as Svetla left, Maxwell picked up his phone and called Camila.
But Maxwell called for a while, and Camila didn’t answer.
Camila went out and took a taxi to the agreed location. She saw Nick Dale, who claimed to be her father’s coworker, Waiting for her.
“Nick, what’s the matter that you urgently need to see me?”
“I contacted the five victims from that year, but none of us are educated. We want to ask if you can help us fight this
lawsuit.”
“Going to court is not a problem, but do you have any
evidence in your hands?” Camila has never been involved in a lawsuit before and is unsure where to start with this matter.

Nick finished speaking and handed a pile of documents to Camila.

Presley was the person Adam planted beside Jeff back then. The two of them conspired to swindle three billion from Starling Realty, and ultimately framed Jeff for it.
