Chapter 11
Chapter11 They Met at the Police Station
Helene guessed that Diego might be downstairs in the company, so she quickly followed.
As expected, as soon as Helene went downstairs, she heard the sound of a violent quarrel between Diego and Freya.
“Diego!” Helene walked over.
As soon as Diego saw Helene, he pulled Freya and ran away.
Helene chased for several blocks but lost them.
At this time, she received a call from Carlisle, who told her to return immediately.
Helene thought something happened to Mr. Bamford, so she hurriedly took a taxi back to Bamford Family.
As soon as she entered the door, she felt the atmosphere was not right.
Carlisle was sitting on the sofa with a gloomy expression.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” Helene asked.
“Helene, what did you promise me?” Carlisle’s voice was surprisingly cold.
“What did I promise?”
“You promised me not to let Grandpa know about the prenuptial agreement. Now Grandpa not only knows but also

refuses to receive follow–up treatment.”

Carlisle threw the prenuptial agreement in Helene’s hand in front of her and said, “Please explain to me.”
Helene felt the matter’s seriousness, but she didn’t know anything.
“Grandpa saw this agreement?”
“Are you still pretending?” Carlisle stood up and looked at Helene with disappointment. “Grandpa said that when he read the newspaper in the morning, he found the agreement wrapped in the newspaper. He asked Matilda, and she said you delivered the newspaper to Grandpa this morning.”
“Yes, I delivered the newspaper but didn’t put the agreement in it.” Helene felt very wronged, “Why would I do this? Could it be Matilda?”
“That’s enough. Our room is usually locked. Can Matilda come in? Even if Matilda comes in, how does she know where your agreement is? Besides, what’s in it for her?”
“Then what’s in it for me if I do this?” Helene was anxious.
“What do you think? Grandpa has already given you 500,000, and you’re still not satisfied? Do you want this courtyard?
“Let me tell you, even if you are pregnant and have children, and you’re not getting this courtyard. It’s a family property, and I won’t allow it to fall into the hands of outsiders no
matter what.”
“I’ve never wanted your family property, let alone having children with you.” Helene felt that Carlisle was simply

“Really? Then why did you give the prenuptial agreement to Grandpa? Don’t you know that he is in poor health and cannot be stimulated?”
“Now he’s refusing treatment to force me to have children
with you. Are you satisfied now?” Carlisle was so angry. He didn’t know what he would do if he argued with Helene, so he could only slam the door and leave.
Helene calmed down and looked at the drawer of the bedside table where her prenuptial agreement had been placed.
She took another look at the tiny camera above the door, which she newly installed.
She turned on her phone, checked the surveillance video during the day, and found that Matilda had entered the room at 10:08 in the morning.
But the camera couldn’t capture the position of the bedside table, and she could only see that Matilda seemed to be holding something in her hand when she went out.
Helene clearly remembered that she’d locked the door when she left this morning. How did Matilda get in?
Helene saved the video without saying anything. Matilda would not admit it without solid evidence.
At this moment, Helene’s phone rang. This time it was a call from the police station, saying that the suspect who had illegally rented out her house had been found and asking her to go to the police station.

At seven thirty in the evening, Helene came to the police station.
Diego and Freya were there too.
Diego was very excited, to see Helene.
“Helene, I didn’t expect you to be this person. We dated for three years, but you called the police to arrest me? Are you crazy?” The more Diego spoke, the more excited he was, and he reached out to slap Helene.
Helene dodged and looked at Diego in disbelief.
She had never expected that a person could be so shameless and disgusting.
A policeman pressed Diego on the seat, snarling, “What are you doing? You’re a man, and you’re hitting a woman. Aren’t you ashamed? This is the police station, not the street where you made trouble!”
With that, the policeman took Helene to a separate room and took a statement from her.
Finally, after the police station mediation, Helene agreed to settle with Diego.
Diego was willing to refund the rent of 60,000 to the tenant, wrote a letter of repentance, and apologized to Helene in front of the police.
Given the previous relationship between Helene and Diego, the police station exempted Diego from punishment for his behavior.
The three of them left the police station together.

Freya was angry and resentful. She was angry because Diego had deceived her. She was resentful because Helene was ruthless enough almost to cause Diego to leave a criminal record as his ex–girlfriend.
“Helene, stop!” Freya stopped Helene as soon as she went out.
“Is something wrong?”
“Helene, we’re classmates. It’s only about 60,000. Why are you so cruel to Diego?”
Hearing her words, Helene became very angry.
“Freya, you’re shameless. My grandma is lying in the hospital, waiting for the money from selling the house to save her life. But Diego used the money to buy you a ring. You’ve gone too far!”
“Helene, shut up! I’ve paid you rent for so many years. What’s wrong with getting some interest back?” Diego roared.
“Nonsense!” Helene angrily trembled, “It’s true that you have paid rent for so many years, but do you know how much you spend going to bars, nightclubs, and playing games monthly?”
“I earn tens of thousands a month. What’s wrong with spending some money? You tricked me into paying your rent and spent my money on your low–income family!”
“Diego!” Helene was too angry to speak.
She had lied to Diego about the rent because Diego spent money like water, and she wanted to save some of his money for their future marriage.

She felt lucky enough to see the true face of this scumbag.
“Diego, would you believe me if I said my family had never spent your money?”
“Of course not! Did you fall in love with me because I made much money? Later, when I lost my job, you started to dislike me. You kept nagging me every day. I’ve had enough of you.”
Diego’s face contorted with anger.
Seeing Diego like this, Helene felt heartbroken. It wasn’t because his betrayal hurt her but because she regretted what she had done for him over the years.
Helene turned around sadly when a car drove over quickly,
Just as she was about to dodge, a considerable force suddenly pushed her toward the speeding car.
With an urgent sound of brakes, Helene fell in front of the car.
The car stopped in time before it touched Helene’s body.
Helene was scared to death.
She turned and saw Diego running away with Freya in a panic.
Her heart was aching.
“Are you okay?” The car owner got out of the car and asked.
The voice was very familiar, and Helene looked up. It turned
out to be Dr. Anderson.
