Chapter First 86

Chapter 86

“Do you love Carmela, do you want to be with her?” Leila fires his very own words back at him.

How many times does she have to tell him that Kelvin is just her friend? There is only one man she has ever had feelings for and that is him.

If Tatum and Kelvin both had guns to their heads and she had to choose one to survive, as much as it would hurt her to mak the hard choice, she would painfully choose Tatum because life without him would be meaningless.

Even if she knows deep down in her heart that Kelvin would willingly give his life for her.

Sadly, she cannot say the same for Tatum.

Instead of owning up to his mistakes and accepting he was wrong to banish Kelvin for Carmela’s sake, he is busy asking her silly questions.

Tatum replies to her question in a cold voice, his grey eyes hard, yet full of hurt. “If I wanted to be with her, I would be married to her, not you.”

He feels a pang in his heart. Does Leila still not get it?

The only woman he desires is her, she is the one he wants to be with.

She is his ultimate and only source of happiness, his joy on his gloomy days, his light when it’s dark, the only one who ever makes him feel at

peace.

He cannot live without her.

Tatum’s words reach Leila ears and as if coated by magic they slowly begin to wane her anger.

This is the trap that she cannot escape, the web that has ensnares her, those reassuring words and the certainty with which he reminds her

that he chose to stay with her and not Carmela is something Leila’s heart cannot fight against.

Even if his actions falter, she cannot hold it against him because she loves him too and wants to spend the rest of her life with him, in love, peace and harmony but right now, she needs to save Kelvin.

She fears for his life and he is still her only hope of exposing Carmela because as long as Carmela’s evil intentions and der is remain in the shadows, she can never get the life she wants with Tatum.

“Find him Tatum, please save him,” Leila looks up at Tatum pitifully, her tone truly sad but her words and demeanour shatters Tatum’s heart.

She did not even deny her feelings for Kelvin, he was hoping she would and now she asks him to find and save Kelvin.

He doesn’t know what hurts him the most, her disregard and disrespect for him, asking him, the Alpha, to find and save Kelvin like some errand boy or the irrevocable love she has for Kelvin that makes her do so.

“I can’t do that, I can’t abandon my pack and go in search of one man.” “Please….do it for me.”

“Listen to yourself Leila, you are asking your husband to go in search of your lo-” he pauses, unable to bring himself to call Kelvin her lover, “do you even know how that sounds?”

“No, I am asking a friend to go in search of another friend,” Leila replies defeatedly, her tone sad, her eyes sullen.

Tatum pulls away from her roughly, a look of disbelief covering his face before he frowns.

“I am not doing it. I am not leaving my pack to go in search of a man who wants what is mine, it is better he never returns.”

Tatum’s cold words stun Leila and he turns away from her, walking

sts Tatum’s racing heart when he hears those words

has always wanted to be with him too?

always wanted it to be just the two of them but if so, why is all so desperate for him to find Kelvin?

I’m not asking you to do anything you haven’t done before, I’m just asking you to do the right thing and bring him back. The punishment was unjust

Leila doesn’t know but he never left the pack in search of Carmela, maybe because deep in his heart, he had the same wish too.

He had a few people looking for her but everytime he personally left on a journey, it has been for Leila’s sake, to get her the cure that she destroyed in her anger.

Carmela is already an obstacle to getting the life he wants with Leila, adding Kelvin to the mix is just not worth it.

He is still Kelvin’s Alpha, he doesn’t hate him, doesn’t wish him harm but he needs him as far away from Leila as possible.

“Sometimes, the right thing to do isn’t the right thing for us,” Tatum replies coldly, disappearing down the stairs.
