Chapter First 71
Chapter 71
Carmela doesn’t know what hit her next but her eyes fly wide open at the overbearing pressure that comes down on her and she grits her teeth, fighting hard to resist the command in Leila’s voice.
Leila doesn’t have her wolf, yet her own wolf is trashing in her head, unable to resist the pressure to submit to Leila’s authority.
Is this the sort of power that the- no, it’s impossible, not without her wolf but why can’t she stop herself?
She caves in, feeling her wolf going crazy, her head throbbing with immense pain and she bares her neck to Leila submissively.
“Luna,” Carmela mutters, shock clear in her eyes, her heart pounding in sheer horror as Leila smiles sinisterly down at her, her aura still demanding for more submission from Carmela and Carmela bows fully.
This should not be happening. She never expected Leila to be so powerful without her wolf.
What does she do now? She was hoping to finish Leila off before Tatum returned from his trip but Leila refused to eat and before she could finish it all at the cave, Tatum appeared, way earlier than expected and now her trump card over Leila is gone.
Now that Leila sees her for what she truly is, she can no longer use Leila’s guilt over her. She made a mistake with the scar.
She didn’t think Leila would remember. That was the beginning of everything going wrong.
“From now on, not a soul is allowed to even touch a cup in this kitchen without my approval,” Leila turns to the omegas who are scared shitless.
Did the high and mighty phoenix Luna just bow to Leila?

Where did the timid Luna go? The one who the phoenix Luna always pushed around.
“Yes Luna,” they both chorus in unison, bowing their heads to Leila.
“Did she say she was the Luna? Impersonation is a highly punishable crime,” Leila turns her cold gaze upon Tiana.
“The phoenix Luna, that’s what I said,” Carmela quickly cuts in, hend heart pounding in her chest.
This new Leila could really punish her unlike the previous one and no matter how much she parades herself as the Luna, the title still belongs to Leila and if Leila takes it up, she could really be punished, even Tatum will not be able to save her.
“My question was for her. You would do well not to interrupt me,” Leila’s voice is cold as she replies to Carmela but her eyes are still fixed on Tiana.
Tiana glances between the two women, deferring to Leila.
“She addressed herself as the Luna of the blood oak pack.”
Carmela’s heart pounds when Leila turns to her with a sinister gaze and realisation hits her. The only reason she has been able to get away with everything is not because Leila is weak as she thought but because Leila chose to.
“It was a slip of tongue…sometimes I forget to add the phoenix, there is no need for anyone to be punished,” Carmela quickly interjects before Leila can speak, her heart seething with bitterness,
She needs to find a way to take this power away from Leila. She gave it to her because she showed her hand too early,
Leila squints her brow at her but she doesn’t say anything. “Here’s a list of ingredients I need,” Leila hands her phone to one of the omegas.

“Except you’re me or an omega, I would like the kitchen to be empty.”
Leila knows better than to openly punish Carmela for impersonating her which is a grave crime on its own but the pack members will rally
behind her since she is the phoenix Luna.
Her best bet is to find a way to expose Carmela’s true colour to Tatum and get some kind of proof of what Carmela tried to do but she will never allow Carmela feel like she is above her again.
Tatum chose her. She is the one bearing his mark.
She glances at Carmela as Carmela leaves with her head bowed, confusion clear in her eyes and their eyes meet.
“You won’t get away with any of it.”
Leila says to her coldly, meaning every syllable that escapes her mouth and Carmela practically runs away from the kitchen.
How can she get proof? She would need to start by investigating Carmela’s whereabouts for the last two years.
If only Kelvin is around, this is something he would have been able to do for her.
Where is he now? How is he doing? She needs to find him, he’s the only one that can help her.
