Chapter 9
Hearing his grandmother’s words, James‘ brow furrowed.
Why did his grandmother go back on her words?
Hadn’t she already agreed to give him half a year’s time?
The woman he married today was nothing more than a stranger to him.
It was impossible for him to lie in the same bed with an unfamiliar woman and have sex so quickly.
“Tm hanging up. I’m still in a meeting here.”
But suddenly, he heard his grandmother’s words from the other end of the phone. “If you dare to hang up today, you won’t be able to see me tomorrow.”
Hearing this, Nadia widened her eyes. “Daisy, you can’t do anything stupid!”
James said in a deep voice, “Okay, I’ll go back home now.”
Daisy really dared to say anything.
After hanging up the phone, James threw the document in his hand on the table. “That’s all for today’s meeting. Let’s end the meeting.”
He stood up and pushed the chair away, picking up the clothes on the chair while looking at Harold. “Ask Harlan to organize the contract for the land in the Great Bay Area. I need it tomorrow morning.”
“Okay, Mr. Howe. It’s only six o’clock. Are you going to get off work?”
James had never gotten off work this early. It seemed that being married made him different. He even got off work earlier.
“Have you cleaned that car yet? Drive it to the underground garage if it’s clean.”
James glanced at his assistant and said in a cold voice.
“It’s been cleaned in the morning. Here’s the key. Do you want the driver to drive you back or do you want to drive it yourself?”
James became angry as soon as he heard these words. He threw the clothes in his hand into Harold’s hand.
And he said in a cold voice, “What am I hiring you for then? Don’t you know that?”
Harold hurriedly took the clothes thrown over and said, “I know, Mr. Howe. I’ll go and make arrangements right away.”
Five minutes later, a Rolls–Royce Phantom parked at the company’s main entrance.
The driver got down from the driver’s seat and walked around the side to open the car door. James got into the Rolls–Royce Phantom.
“Mr. Howe, are we going to the Mountainville or the courtyard house?”
The driver sat in the driver’s seat and turned his head to look at James sitting in the back seat.
“Go to Orchid Valley. Park the car in front of the community later. I’ll walk in.”
“Okay, got it.”
He then instructed Harold to drive the Chevrolet Sail to the underground parking lot of Orchid Valley.
The Rolls–Royce Phantom then slowly drove toward the direction of Orchid Valley, followed by several other Rolls–Royce Phantoms, which were filled with James‘ bodyguards.
Half an hour later, James arrived at Room 303, Building II, Orchid Valley.
As soon as he entered the house, he saw his grandmother sitting on the sofa in the living room.
James looked at his grandmother suspiciously, “Grandma, why are you here?”
Daisy had a glass of water in her hand. After taking a sip, she put it back on the coffee table.
“Why can’t I be here? Your dad and uncle kicked me out of the house. Where would I go if I didn’t come to your place?” Daisy said in a serious voice.
She could only let her two sons take the blame. She couldn’t let her daughters–in–law take the blame, because it would be bad if she did that.
James narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure you were kicked out?”
Why did he feel he couldn’t believe it?

Daisy continued, “Besides, Nadia has agreed to let me stay. You have no say here.”
Nadia was cleaning vegetables in the kitchen. She had planned to have cupcakes tonight, but she didn’t know if James and Daisy liked it or not.
In the end, she decided to cook some other food for dinner.
When she came out of the kitchen, she saw that James had returned.
“Hi, Mr. Howe. Is there anything you want to eat tonight? I’ll make it for you.”
James glanced at Nadia and saw that she was wearing a dress and a ruffled apron, which did make her look like a proper
housewife.
“Whatever. I’ll eat whatever you make.”
Nadia had asked Daisy what she wanted to eat just now. She was going to make pancakes, barbecued ribs, pot roast, and vegetable soup for dinner, which were all home–cooked dishes.
Daisy used to come to the flower shop to find Nadia. They occasionally had meals together, so Nadia knew that Daisy liked to eat pot roast and pancakes. So she prepared these for today’s dinner.
“Wait for a while. Dinner will be ready in half an hour.”
James thought his grandmother was joking during the day, but she really brought all her luggage over.
Daisy was like an old child. James had no choice but to let his grandmother do whatever she wanted.
In a short while, a table of delicious home–cooked food was served.
Looking at the dishes she liked to eat on the table, Daisy felt happy.
She really did not misjudge Nadia. Nadia was very independent, not only was she able to make money on her own, but she could also handle everything well in the house.
James looked at the dishes on the table. He thought they looked good and wondered how they would taste.
Nadia glanced carefully at James as she brought up the soup. “Try them. I’m not sure if it suits your taste.”
James went to wash his hands before sitting down at the table. He took a piece of meat from the pot roast and put it in his mouth.
He felt the flavor of the meat fill his entire mouth and it tasted great.
After that, he tried a bite of pancake, which he thought was not inferior to the ones made by the chefs in the restaurants.
Daisy had eaten Nadia’s cooking before, and she knew that Nadia’s cooking was quite good.
In a short while, the table was cleared. Nadia was happy to see that her food was liked by them.
After washing the dishes, Nadia made some cupcakes and prepared to take them to her grandmother in the hospital.
Daisy watched Nadia being busy in the kitchen while James sat in the living room eating fruit after dinner,
She said in disgust, “James, go and help your wife.”
James thought he had heard her wrong. He was the heir to the Howe Group. His grandmother had actually asked him to do the dishes.
If his employees found out about this, he would definitely be laughed at.
He pretended not to hear and continued to eat his fruit.
Daisy couldn’t bear any more. She reached over and knocked the fruit out of James‘ hand and said, “Have you eaten the fruit. enough? I asked you to help your wife. You only know to eat.”
“Grandma, whose grandma are you anyway? Those who don’t know the situation will think you’re her grandma.”
James reluctantly stood up and walked to the kitchen door, drifting a glance at Nadia.
He asked in a deep voice, “Need help?”
Nadia turned back to James with a smile. “No need. Thanks. I’ll be done in a minute.”
With that, she put the cupcake in her hand into the oven and closed the oven door.
Watching her making cupcakes, James asked curiously, “Haven’t we all had dinner? Why are you still making cupcakes?”
James thought Nadia was making cupcakes for herself. He couldn’t tell that she could eat so much.
Alier Nadia set the temperature of the oven, she said, “I forgot to tell you. My grandma is in the hospital. I want to bring her
food later.”
Daisy stood behind James, keeping an ear open to hear what the two of them were saying.

As soon as James turned around, he saw his grandmother standing behind him eavesdropping. He pretended to be a little angry. ‘Grandma…”
“Nadia’s grandma is hospitalized. You should drive her to the hospital and greet her grandma for me.”
Hearing what Daisy said, Nadia was too embarrassed to bother James.
“No, no need. I’ll just take a cab by myself.”
She said as she put the baked cupcakes in the food box and covered it to get ready to go out the door.
Daisy pushed James out the door as she said, “You’re both married now. It’s time for you to meet Nadia’s grandma. Nadia, am I right?”
With that, Daisy turned her head to look at Nadia.
